  1. I guess he will do a search on his name several times a day, but I also think he can take a joke.
  2. Life can be hard for a hero, especially if you have to make money. Even the one in Hero Corps can't make too much, because I tried hiring one and I couldn't find a place to contact them. Even the Hero Corps representatives couldn't tell me where they were (but they were more than willing to pass comments on my reputation around).
  3. The man was a hero after all if I remember the description of Mother correctly. Then again it was a while ago and not all things improve with age.

    Nice chapter.
  4. Up to the point where ED kicked in.

I used it so often suddenly I was the one going down whenever something used an AoE.

So I used my free respec to spec out Absorb Pain and spec in Spectral Wounds. Maybe just maybe I'll pick it back up on level 47, but I doubt it.

Before I respeced it out, I often had comments on how you didn't need AB, despite it saving their butts. So no time to test that like when heals are both slower and weaker.
  5. Yeah,

Katana is great. MA is supposed to be not too bad either.

So I would say personal preference as well.

Katana has the better names though. Soaring Dragon, Golden Dragonfly, The Lotus Drops, Divine Avalanche...
  6. You can't outheal a void's damage on a Warshade, I tried that before hoping the other controller would find the Void in time.

And in the case I would have done that the second time we would have had one faceplanted Ws again, this way I spread the debt. Everybody (un)happy.
  7. Personally I wished I didn't go down the same path.

On my trial-account on the Us-servers I was a Empathy/Dark defender and was using my attacks a lot to debuff the enemies to keep the team alive.

So when I finally got my EU-copy I decided to go for Empathy as secondary. It's a powerful enough combo, but unless Recovery Aura is running I have to sacrifice either control or healing. Yesterday I was blinding a void and another controller didn't get healed because of that.

Still it got me through my first 44 levels.
  8. What do you mean cutest? What about Valkyrie? A female who isn't afraid to wear armour.

    Nice wallpapers though.
  9. Of course you can use one of mine.

    Character's name: Corwal
    Lvl : 43
    AT : Controller
    Primary/secondary powerset: Illusion/empath
And main costume colours:Purple/ Light blue
(Since I always play him in 1st person, I don't seem to have any screenshot featuring him, except for 2 where he is superiour invisible, BUT I'll make some tomorrow and send them to you)

    Or if you prefer:
    Character's name: Niatu
    Lvl: 37
    AT : Scrapper
    Primary/secondary powerset: Katana/Regen
And main costume colours: Light blue/Dark blue
(I'll send her screenies together with the ones of Corwal)
  10. What do you mean no action? Jerome DeTuff was surely very active.
  11. Hmm, I think I once worked with a 'Walter'.

    Waiting for the next one.
  12. Why didn't anyone tell me about the running-and-cowering badge?

    Nice piece of work.
  13. Good one. It reminds me slightly of Rincewind, although he at least doesn't have his mother 'helping'.

I was thinking about skipping stamina with my MA regen but with no respecs left I havent tried it . Tho Green is right a stamina-less regen is possible but do you really want to comprimise your powers with 2 end red in them? Also health does give a decent buff to base regeneration which is always useful to have. Tho as green said agn the bottom line is what would you do with those 3 powers if not taking stamina. I woulnt take stamina by lvl 20 and could probably get away without it quite easily till lvl 30.

Level 37 Katana/regen. I have no end-reducers slotted and don't have Stamina so far (but I'm working up to it). The Quick Recovery makes it possible to avoid Stamina completely but I tend to drop low in Stamina in extended fights and sometimes even lose my Integration because of it.

I didn't notice any real impact from health myself but I know Stamina will help me in my weak part for now, and that are the extended fights. In solo-missions I can keep going and going, but in teams of 5 and up or smaller teams with an unyielding or tenacious setting I have to wait for 10-15 secs between fights to regain my end.
  15. Cool story.

I wonder how many people could be in Atlas Park at once though. Then again how many join in on Times Square each year and that has to be much smaller.
  16. I soloed level 17 (Illusion/empath). It was rather slow but since containment I don't think there is any real problem with soloing after taking the 2 attack powers.

Superior invisibility might help if you want to solo, I was stuck with group invisibility and that doesn't help as much. I didn't try anything more than Heroic though. But that still gives fast enough Xp on that level.

Group-wise it has plenty of advantages as well. Blind/Deceive/Flash/Group Invisibility. Those can make you a wanted person in a team.
  17. /regen as well. It represents all you need for a comic book hero. Whatever they do to you, you get back up and back in the fight in no time. And no downtime between fights, who can say no to that.

I favour Katana as well but that might be because of the look.
  18. Nice story.

Here are some stars to encourage you to complete the story.

    Regen changing?

Regen scrappers have the (bad) luck of no down-time. So fighting looks that much easier for them.

With the christmas-present I decided to get Niatu going again and she uses Katana/Regeneration. I happen to team up a lot with a Katana/Super reflexes-scrapper.

At the start of fights I often look like I'm about to drop while the SR-scrapper looks slightly wounded. But at the end of fights I look chirpy and ready for the next one and she looks awful (or is even on her way to the hospital if she didn't run in time).

When do people have time to watch other people's fights? Mostly when things cool down a bit so all they see is a healthy regen scrapper and a near-dead SR one.

No-one ever needed Stamina either. By taking Haste you make your build infinitely better.

    Really?
What are the figures for end recharge with a 3 slotted stamina? Seems to work for me as end runs out a lot without it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually he is agreeing with you here. It is not needed, but it helps a lot. After all you survived till level 20 without it.

That is why they try to steer people away from it. You can just gobble down blues every 30 secs instead or wait for a minute between fights. I was happy that was over and they introduced I6. With the end-reduction on powers and 3 slotted Stamina you are supposed to lose only 8% recovery. I still feel that.

Really hope so. I played pet user in AO and SWG, and the pet user started strong there as well. *Started* is the keyword. ;-)

No twinking in CoV though, well not the kind as in AO anyway. So I hope the Devs think all MM are nicely balanced because of the slow ramping up in power.
  22. I love the eyes, red eyes are so common for villains. And who is claiming that Lord Recluse is common?

(Criticise me.. i know what your thinking!! "HES NUTS!")

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why would we think that? I wasn't thinking that. Not that I agree completely with your post.

Illusion plays different than most other control sets but it still has some very nice powers.

Group invisibility is great for when your team wants to sneak a mission. Superior invisibility gives you the power to go where you want to go (although I would stay away from those pesky Rikti Drones).

The Phantom Army can be a real lifesaver in the bigger teams. A HUGE mob or one with that much PSI-damage that your tanker is contemplating committing Hara-Kiri to save time. Sneak closer and use your Phantom Army in the middle of them(or use your army before and just run through but this can have very bad effects on the rest of the fight since it tends to scatter the mob).

Deceive is a love/hate power as stated before. Ah, the Malta just used a auto-turret, let's blast them with their own weapon. Does wonders on DE eminators as well.

And Phantasm gives you the power to use an awaken in a hostile place from time to time (the decoy phantasm has a higher threat level than the controller and often holds aggro long enough to use the awaken/break free combo. It is the one pet that doesn't despawn on the controller's faceplant AFAIK).

Downsides on it are pretty much you said Duffy. Flash is a lousy group hold in my opinion, even with a SO ACC in it and an Insight-inspiration I often still had several minions walking around.

The pets aren't controlled as the Mastermind's pet so you can pull another group on you just by standing in the wrong place or by having your lovely Phantasm using his knockback to reunite those poor mobs with their other friends (Well that doesn't actually aggro them I think, but the next attack does though).

PS: I always thought that Kinetics was one of the more popular powers.
