I've never seen a team incapable of completing it. I have seen teams caught by the old bug that was on it but never incapable of finishing it.
I don't do villain side that much at all though "on any one alt" and so I am the least likely to get on one.
Not for the win team mixes and more diverse teams should be more interesting and more rewarding in terms of grasping more of the game mechanics. Unfortunately for me I feel lonely in my interest in getting things done utilizing anyone. -
For me, it was the Xmas season, imagine someone trying to get all the badges on every alt on every server and that's nearly right. I will finish the remaining bits of next year but only in terms of a gold medal and toy collector...oh and I pvped.
-
You will probably find most teams doing it are corrupter heavy. They are only 53 so debuffs are okay. I hate seeing stray aggro pick off squishies. If all the aggro is concentrated somewhere then the aoes are concentrated in a smaller area. If everyone is dying around you then that would lower DPS.
I'd imagine with the Mo's little breathers are nice so people can make a decision on their first 3 - 5 moves. You can forget just one thing and balls it if your rushing in at the start and panicking slightly enough to miss something. For me today that was outposting my pets but then its a gimped unfinished MM build anyway from me experimenting, its still got empty slots XD. -

Thats the order i've taken em in now.

A respec build that you will hopefully never exemp down with? -
I went with 2 acc, 2 taunt and 2 rechg. Which is okay to start with but I would IO set it for sure to maximize all attributes, to push the dwarf towards the capabilities of a Tanker.
Put some thought into it and how you can lower the AVs DPS with it and keep aggro and you'd have damage mitigation on top of dwarf form. Not just to yourself but to team too.
Somethings you may try may not quite work straight away but that just needs more investigation that's all. -
RV
Soloable? I think so. -
Thread necromancy is rife still.
I would of had a stalker on the basis that they can succeed where holds can't let alone there being some human being behind the character looking to discover the set but I can tell you know at least some small minor thing about the game.
A stalker now has no need for the rest of the team (despite them being there) when it comes to the first SF if they're prepared for it. I like that. -
Dark is a very pro-active and more interesting set far from a switch off don't think about it set. This makes it more interesting. I quite fancy the idea of teams having to change how they play when with one at times as they theoretically could but that would be fantasizing. On anything what you'd hope to happen and what does happen are two different things even if you macro tells to make known your intentions.
-
A Devs idea of solo is a player relying on powers that they have at their disposal. I'd say yes given the number and type of additional temp powers you can get + amount of insps you can have + luck, build and tactical thinking. There is ofc different types of Ghost Widow. So I wouldn't bet against the possibilities.
Just to add I would consider trying with a Firetank given all that I just said. The Mission Map itself though can cause consequences. -

But one underlying problem is that MY Dwarf still can't tank. Might as well remove the taunt FROM MY DWARF as I've never used it and I haven't seen anyone NEED TO or TEAM ORIENTATED. It's far too big a risk of ME dying.

That looks much better to me.
Merry Xmas.

I had a really good day in PvP zones today.
I met nice people, one made me global friend, there was not many people but they were civilized and it was more about testing and learning than whose the better person.
I was not happy with Kheldians performance especially with teleport. Scrappers that have to hit to get a acc and dam buff in the first place are disadvantaged; they may do dps but hows that work out? Secondary effects of all kiting related powers of Blasters are pretty weak. If they can't do flash things like end drain and are left to kite and interrupt I expect them to excel more than they currently do at it.
Was either fun or nice meeting people though. -
I love the idea of breaking lock, but on toggles? I don't know what an impact that'll have. Apparently defenders have it bad already.
-
Thankyou for replies, what I will be doing to kill more than one bird with a stone, in the zones, on every server between xmas and new year with some chars being more pvp friendly than others. No matter how you do it some builds will be but dual builds shuts down the problem.
I can get the spend time in a PvP zone badges, the explorers in some cases and the candy whilst I wait for someone and then just fight to see if its aesthetically real enough more than fair. (I bet doing a wind up before knockout blow from a few feet away is probably possible). I find the secondary effects from powers like caltrops lacking myself. As a /Dev when you can't really blap you could do with being a better kiter surely?
Then after new year, its some arena with obliging ppl who would take on my different ATs so that I can get an idea of each AT is like survivability wise versus the same person. There are two things; sustainable damage taken and sustainable damage given, the potential of each AT may not be the same but they could be somehow right.
My friend who I done stuff with occasionally pvped, but found iirc it got silly cos if you are on one character the other person will want to change to another rather than just fight with what they had and so it was all rock paper scissors.
I won't be playing to stand over someones corpse, doing the funky chicken dance and gloating. I will be playing to find my concepts limits and the opponents limits and it is nicer when you have more of a fight in which to work it out.
My problem will be the insp game tho, if I am staying in the zone then I could be the one with the least insps. -
I play on all the servers, am happy with finding people who either:
a) play like team orientated heroes and treat the enemy with respect.
b) no rules as a villain. -
Hmm, Merry Xmas, too much information there though.
-
With so few slots, nothing is going to be drastic.

I think most people have shut their minds off to many things with this game, avoiding many of the challenges they can set themselves and get into; and then say it is too easy.
I say that because there are still things the general population fails to achieve that could of been done a long time ago. Other things that are achieve able but done with lots of deaths ie all those deaths I see when people are doing AVs in RV..don't need to happen.
People are still "needing" certain sets to get things done especially on the STF, granite pls, kin pls, rad pls! Somethings don't really require that much survivability but its done so that there is less thought and more speed. Some people are making their lives comfortable and to then complain about how easy the game is...
Being oblivious to some hurdles and asking for a harder game now that your characters have IOs and found the easy ways, most recipes from exploits
, is not fair on the new player.
A higher setting? That could be an option to get severer spawns but most people leveling up will probably go on the "challenging enough" and "xp/time" settings rather than the "Five different teams in one mission" setting. I'd like a higher setting so that the spawns are "slightly" harder. Not +5s though as half the powersets would be taking pity spots if anything was above +4. Possibly just more dangerous spawns for lvl 50s so that there is a reason in PVE to rank their characters up.
I miss the old debt because if a mistake was made it hit home but few people revised how they should go about things. The reason for the mistake got repeated. Sometimes the team mates that could of or should of done something just laugh at some squishies 8th faceplant.
I am against cherry picking powersets whatever the outcome of this thread. It maybe better to have no outcome.
I find other people challenging, like when a tanker turns an AV towards the team, when a blaster chooses to enter LoS of another group rather than make use of a football field of space out of perception or line of sight, when a controller prevents consolidation of taunt control in the early stages of a fight and like when a debuffer is up your butt even after interception. I throw the towel I really do. -
Khopeshes.
I am sure I distinctly remember how it is used for piercing shields and looking it up it is described as a "Specialized Axe" more than a sword and that's what it is.
Turn the Khopesh around in the Dual Bladers hands and it would sit right for shield piercing and then pulling on the shield.
I would consider it a specialized Axe and it would make another option for the Axe Tankers. -
I will admit that what I don't find quite right needs exploring before I say anything and it will get explored as I know there are plenty of ppl who would pvp me.
-
I dunno but I wondered what are all the differences between arena and zonal pvp people notice..apart from how you enter, the limits of space and the maximum number of people.
I started to PvP some recently just to test things out. So far I've liked a fight I been in but haven't been too happy with another in the arenas, and a zonal fight seemed endless. Some things haven't been there aesthetically I guess, or some effects in terms of usefulness have been too weak in comparison to others. -

more xp pls
less debt pls
vet rewards for non vets pls
pathetic, you want it all and you want it now. tell you what give me your login and i'll play the game for you. i'll give you a shout when your 50 with everything open is ready.
i'll leave it there as i'm actually going to go put some time and effort into the game. i'll maybe see you in there sometime.

I think maybe someones done something to upset you, your in the wrong frame of mind and you're needing to vent it out somewhere.
Either that or you have the personality of a barbed wire fence.
Its a level 1 recipe, it'll have people thinking they can get it now and there is nothing wrong with getting a reward for something you've just done. I wouldn't smack a dog for something he don't remember. -
It is to me at mo a slightly gimped set compared to other tanking sets "putting power pools aside" and a slightly gimped set compared to other tankers in teams due to the "more commonly found types of support" and the first part is probably because it works well with other shielders/players in melee. Another Shielder with Grant Cover could be the tier 9 to you at times.
Everyone will differ in perception for a variety of reasons. I could say "I have nps" when I fight +0s with a sonic and an emp in the team.
You should be able to tank Praetorians with it, but, not always in the same way. I wouldn't "design" teams by having certain sets filling the holes and so would have more than one way of going about things and would hopefully be allowed to use them as with teams. Situations and dynamics can be imposed upon you.
I hate the recharging mezz protection, the weak aura, but grant cover kind of makes up for the aura for other ATs and I probably feel that 5% more resistance would be nice. You put aid self on it tho and it's got a good chance of accomplishing most things one way or another even as an only melee set in teams. I been badging too much to finish leveling mine. -
"The dev team are the other side of CoX that really shines, not just because their output is good, but because they really, really know how to communicate. That makes ALL the difference for morale and a sense of participation. They don't just sit up there in ivory towers handing down edicts; they have a shared passion with the people who play their game, and it shows through. As a player, you know that if you have an issue with something or it doesn't make sense to you, you can get the message across, and so long as you're not a jerk about it, you will be heard."
Yep. Better to get a US account though to feel like you've been heard, because they may actually quote you...but then if they were here to their output maybe poorer for it. -

Could there be control powers in the game that a) don't do damage or b) do laughable damage?
I would Acc/Mez knockout blow but I got 3 Dam/Mez's in it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Using Knockout Blow as a mez is laughable at best. And unless you're talking only 3 slots in Knockout Blow your example doesnt apply.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope I wouldn't just 3 slot knockout blow, that would be stupid. It is as much a hold as a damaging attack, in fact I think it started out as a hold. If sappers can't be one shotted despite rage being up and usually they can't on my settings then they're not going to do anything after I hit them with it and even if I have to tend to other matters for the moment.
