CoX Most Improved Game of 2008
I would agree with this.
I don't post very often here (too much time playing) but it deserves to be recognised that this game has been very much improved in 2008.
All we need now is more tileset/map variety and a few new villain groups and perhaps a new or revamped zone and I'll be doubly impressed.

I think that this is well deserved - issues 9 to 12 have been outstanding. I13 is "nice to have" to an extent but doesn't move the earth for me. I11 and 12 were for me the best and it's great to see CoX get the recognition it deserves.
Interesting that it's Massively, who seem to be fans of the game in their own right

I think its more when you look past all the shiny marketing/hype etc it comes down to one thing (for me at least) what makes people keep coming back to a game that is getting on a little, there must be some kind of draw, hell i like shiny new things as much as the next magpie, but ill give an example;
CoX is to me the same as the original Deus Ex (which i still love to this day) , maybe the GfX are not uber, and it can get samey at times, but theres something, maybe its the char creation, maybe its the community, maybe its the funky powers, i dunno but theres something, that keeps bringing me back.
(meh, maybe im just rambling as i havnt had my morning cuppa....ill post something better later)

Woo!
I12 was a great issue, I13...well it could've been better but it still did improve areas, right?
As long as CoX doesn't get an award for badness, I'm happy.

Yup, I believe two out of the five or so Massively reviewers have had ongoing CoH subscriptions for a while now.

"The dev team are the other side of CoX that really shines, not just because their output is good, but because they really, really know how to communicate. That makes ALL the difference for morale and a sense of participation. They don't just sit up there in ivory towers handing down edicts; they have a shared passion with the people who play their game, and it shows through. As a player, you know that if you have an issue with something or it doesn't make sense to you, you can get the message across, and so long as you're not a jerk about it, you will be heard."
Yep. Better to get a US account though to feel like you've been heard, because they may actually quote you...but then if they were here to their output maybe poorer for it.

excluding the doom sayers and people who talk too much on forums and say they r gamers. everyone has to argee tht this game has come far recentlly compared to a while back. been now here for 3 yrs and loved evrey moment, each issue being something fun and nice to the game. so well deserved. also. we all know were better then lotr lmao

its good to see the devs and game in general getting some recognition and altho it sounds like a slow year for cox if you actuly right down all the things they have added and changed based souly on player feedback let alone all the rest of the stuff.
now think about what we know is in the works for the coming year mission creater strong hints at finaly seeing these two new zones a large celebration issue for there bday bases and raiding is curently getting worked into something new and aparently player freindly as well as talk about a possible gfx upgrade and thats only the stuff they have actuly told us about
all thats left is some seriouse money spent on avertising and tempting some new blood to the game from some of the ill fated compeitition and they could make next year even better

) or Im looking in the wrong section. Apologies if its a dupe.)
Our pick for Most Improvements in an MMO for 2008 goes to NCsoft's City of Heroes & City of Villains. While only Issue 12 and Issue 13 came out this year, both were fairly hefty in terms of giving players new options on their beloved game.
