Dark Armour.
I saw an issue with it. Almost half of the entire primary relied on Tohit. It was on it's own in that aspect. Now this is not always bad as when paired with a powerset that can offer substantial tohit it could be fine. But not all sets gave build up type powers. Some sets gave +tohit powers that relied on tohit to begine with. One in particular so late in the game that you got the +tohit power that relies on +tohit after the levels you might of really needed it (enemy based in a level range). With Dark Astoria now closed I don't know the situation with Banished Pantheon 20-25 missions or people going to the echo of it, although it's not just them, CoT can be pretty harsh. I am not sure if this would be as much of an issue with me now. -
I already have 5 VEATS but if I use any of the builds here as a platform to produce a Mastermind version (I do Crab, Bane, Huntsman, Widow and Fortunata atm) then yep, whatever build it is I be slapping presence pool taunt into I'll remember to reward the person who provided the Base Model. I can have any purple set at the ready and the entire thing done (levels, incarnates, accolades the lot) in no time if I wanted to and am slightly tempted.

I don't know the situation. I can't pass comment on the situation. The situation could be in light of a 1st, 2nd, 3rd slightly more rewards have to be accrued and given out but that's me speculating.
Toys being thrown from the pram comments I do think will have no positive effect. If you can't hope that there is some understandable reason for the delay then holy miaow. -
Quote:Consider a Kheld a Jack of all Trades, Master of None but in leveling up and/or seeing what other people are doing you might then wish to specialize in doing one thing or a couple of somethings, that's what people can do for you really but even then you should round things off with your own touches.1 final question, not that anyone has to, but... To see what I'd be heading for/setting a goal for, would someone mind creating a quick build for me on Mids and showing me what ALL THE INFO from this thread would look like in the end?
It's entirely possible to remain be a Jack of all Trades and be pretty viable, still farm 54s*8, still tank STFs, still solo AVs, be a duct tape defender or blapper, just perhaps not as exceptional at any one thing as those that focus on a speciality. -
The way Dimension Shift works is exactly how I would like to see Time Bomb work. They just add interrupt time, lower the duration and away we go.

If I couldnt get bored clicking 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2 all day then attack chains might concern me. I am interested in utility and aoe sizes. Without looking at the set in detail I stuck it on a Tank, my second SR tank but this might be handy cos I can do a direct comparison to my other SR tank what is Titan Weapons. So far Ms Gambit III is doing better than some other Ms Gambits.

Most suggestions are there to help someone get kickstarted, be somewhere close. I think this is playable. I would change somethings but from the way you've done things I would trust you to know and find what you want to finish up with by yourself. The best thing for you. I can only expect to come from you.

Quote:Feel free to quote where I have said something to the tune of Excel holding all the answers. I believe in being objective. I do believe in using Excel to work out what can be done to certain limits over time. I also believe in the practical side of things. Always had. The difference between my mind and other peoples is, usually people discover something then have to spill it all over the forums hoping for some acclaim. I would discover then say little, usually something unspecific but hopefully enough for a Dev to read and possibly see what I mean. I don't believe in everyone knowing what they know because they're spoon fed it. This is why I indirectly suggest the F Off & Find Out approach. It's what I am trying to do now.I "may not pass" the Grey Pilgrim ... but I can at least give him some amusement.
Mission Accomplished.
I am still waiting on a couple of people who are willing to have me watch them farm with their WS. I am looking for an average, realistic life span of Dark Extraction and likelihood of cones which can lead to a method to get the most out of Dark Extraction but the immediate thing is a typical expectation from DE.
I am still opposed to those builds being mirror images, gold standards and comparable. Comparing them is hardly fair. Might as well compare Linford Christie to a man with a artificial leg.
Not without a life. Things get done when they get done. When I am happy with the results. I wouldn't be too afraid to go back on myself and say "well some KB could be removed". -
Quote:I did write a really long reply elaborating but then the internet ate it up. You basically took my words, misread the meaning here and went on one. You did because I agree with most of what you said. So therefore what you've assumed I meant, I didn't. There is no American mind here. I am British. There is more than one way to interpret a post and you've taken one way that I find literal and extremist and ran with it.And there is an equal if not greater number of people who resent Tankers 'taking control', especially when the Tanker doesn't have the star and it's completely unsolicited. The Bossy Tank stereotype exists for a reason.
So, Tankers should be a crutch so bad players don't have to take responsibility for their own actions?
Sorry, no.
ONE Tanker should not be an aggro catch all. The situation above is why you take a second Tanker, or you kick the player being an idiot.
Those are qualities that come from a player, not a class, regardless of the AT they are playing.
The Tanker AT is NOT the defacto leader. Whoever forms the team is the leader, and they call the shots until you're told otherwise. You set your ego aside and work with the team. This isn't your show. It isn't all about the Tanker with the spotlight on you. Don't act like a control freak who needs to be the center of attention.
Furthermore, if you really want the Tanker to be the "Leader AT", then that's even more justification for their damage to not be crap. Superman, Optimus Prime, Cyclops, they're more powerful than their subordinates. They have the devastating power and it comes with the burden to use it wisely that teaches them responsibility, thus the mantle of leadership falls to them. CoH Tankers have the burden, but not the power. If you think they're intended to carry the team, they need to start being treated better than aggro monkeys. If they're going to be leaders, they need to be someone to follow, not low damage decoys.
.
This game isn't Marvel. I just have to add on top of that fact that I don't see a problem with Tankers. -
Over the course of the TF I am currently on I have used this power no end of times. Sure it's situational but I keep finding them situations. Whenever they occur it's always recharged.
I like it. It fits the set. I don't believe in changing it. I am definitely not getting complaints. Therefore I do not see anything wrong with it. -
Quote:It does take a certain amount of leadership qualities in a person to really get to grips with a Tanker but if the *Ahem* hits the fan, players might still see who is directly responsible, they could be a Brute bringing more mobs too early to the team with an already aggro capped Tanker leaving the team with not a lot that is game mechanically possible. I am sure the Brute made himself feel Pro for a moment before needing to be saved and losing aggro to others. I bet such a Brute player would agree that Tankers need a higher aggro cap. I would prefer to see the Tankers do any herding whilst the Brute constantly does the damage. It seems daft to me when its the other way around.I hate Tanking...that's why I like playing a Brute, Scrapper or Stalker...yes it's still melee but less responsibility/accountability if the *Ahem* hits the fan.
A Tanker often sets up the game dynamics from which everyone else in the team should be able to build upon. Therefore it's only right that Tankers should know and understand how to bring out the best in all ATs and Powersets. Work with what you've got. Being able to tank something with a Kin but not a TA would be a failure, not on the Devs part but on the players part because as sure as eggs are eggs somebody somewhere is going to do their job better.
People do let themselves down when it comes to building and playing their characters offering very little due to apathy, lack of acquireable knowledge, lack of foresight and proactiveness.
A natural born leader deals with accountability and responsibility. -
I'm basically seeing ideas that were pushed for in the past but never came to fruition. I don't have this need for their fruition neither. Lets look at Ice/TA, if you suck at it then you probably think it needs a lot of changes, if you don't then one can assume you are fine with it. That's my logic. I've seen a lot of builds of Ice/TA and there is a certain lack of faith that makes me guess that perhaps a power didn't work on a faction therefore it became no good versus all factions. Not everything is meant to work all the time on everything. We call these things situational. Different powers are also there to help people find their concept, not all concepts can be a God amongst mere mortals. Different types of characters are meant to be stronger at different things and avoid offering people the same bleep just with different graphics. No it won't do X but it does Y very well.
Debuffs and Controls are resistable whereas Shields are something the enemy can't resist. The problem becomes more notable the higher the level you face. Moar defense becomes the solution to everything. This is the real problem with this game. If it isn't great damage per animation second or if it isn't defense then it's usefulness is questionable. -

Quote:Whoa rare.Would be nice if my Ice/Ice Tanker didnt have aggro ripped off her by those scrappers.
Nevermind that, why would you care about Scrappers? Don't think Tankers should care for Scrappers at all, if anything out of charity. Scrappers should be perfectly fine dealing with things around you and whilst you're doing the Tanking they can decide on their position, their threat level, their next deathwish. -
People will have conflicting opinions. After a revamp people might still have conflicting opinions.
A lot of what goes into a set are things that work towards a concept or a little bit universal with similar concepts.
If we didn't differ on ideas then we may as well not have choices.
Changing any one thing can upset someone somewhere. Often a move in one direction for an advantage can mean a disadvantage in some form. More recharge means more eps. Lower cast times means less recovery over attack chains.
Sure gimmicks could be added but I thought Procs, Incarnates were doing that job.
If I was a Dev I would be looking to make things more universally acceptable. Some people hate KB, some don't you can then make IO sets to reduce KB but then in a fair trade make those sets mean less damage per endurance. What other things aren't too popular? Interrupt time? Perhaps a 0s interrupt set can offer no reduce rechg. Then things like Tripmine can be dropped there and then but you can't drop so many.
I'd much rather things furthered along with new things or changes that can effect all powersets via new IO sets. No one suffers at someones idea as all things take is the purchase of things that are purely voluntary. -
You mean like a level up build? I doubt there is a "suits all" magical recipe. You are probably going to have to be analytical with whatever you doing. Some might suggest its all end unfriendly. Some would 2 end slot Brutes attacks anyway as you rely on Fury. Some might suggest 2 end slots in dark regeneration as it costs a lot of end, used frequently and it can be pretty consuming. Some might suggest Haste just to have Dark Regen often and when you can get Dark Consumption, have that up often.

Rule 1: Hasten is my Ketchup.
Rule 2: If I am on a Willpower build then Leaderships is my Ketchup.
Rule 3: No build is made up of a stupid amount of Power Pools. That usually just shows either disbelief in the AT/Powersets being played and/or self absorbency.
Rule 4: If on MM then Presence Pool -
If I said it once I'll say it a billion times..
I was a damn sight more happier with Defiance 1.
Defiance 2 is just a bit, it's a bit like having a meatball in the fruitbowl. So I am going with the idea of Blasters getting looked at. -
Quote:Brutes fury is important and can be built in different ways all by the players discretion. It is, sadly, only a 1 second duration. Apparently, this is not a bug, and is working as intended. Why the Devs intended this, when the duration for Brutes is normal, is unknown. I do really think this needs to get fixed before I'll ever play the set on a Tanker.
So I do not get the reasoning behind it all.
Email them Aett. Put your foot down

Often people come up with change ideas that can take up a lot of resources and time which do not benefit the rest of the player base at all.
Sometimes you just got to be realistic.
I have every secondary when it comes to Blasters. Often people don't. They see what others have and may feel they are missing out. It's not necessarily the case. There are downsides to everything and it's not like most Blasters are always in a position where it's preferable to rely on the secondary. I use my Primaries most of the time because it makes more sense in teams anyway.
I've seen suggestions repeat themselves over the years. Last big change was Gun Drone and that was a change that exceeded my expectations to a point where now it just feels that I would be acting like some poor little rich kid who want's more.
I am basically happy with the idea of each secondary bringing something different to the table and if anything perhaps setting Timebomb off when you need to, anytime before it's natural expiration is the only "fair" change left. -
"Blaster heroes must be on their guard before combat; while their immense power can overcome most foes, alone they are quite vulnerable. The Blaster can turn the tide of a conflict, but they need their friends to help them succeed."
I got rid of the words getting into cos it had a link but this is the jist of the description when it comes to Blasters. So my expectations of any test would pretty much fit the description.
On guard would be, know where enemies are, know what they can do, know what they will most likely do and limit what they can do as a result. -
Quote:I ALMOST FORGOT THIS THREAD. OH LOOK I CAN TYPE IN CAPS TOO LULZ.I have never heard someone try to sound reasonable and come off as arrogant as you have here. I'm not FAILING at being a devices blaster, I just feel the devices blaster needs some work. Furthermore, can you honestly tell me that you'll loose flexibility at "3 mines at once, 3 x the recharge" especially given the recharge is low anyway, AND that you're already placing mini mine fields for the same period of time. It just makes the devices set MORE flexible. It doesn't take away from the old at all. If I am to say anything pertinent to you in particular it's "please don't troll". You may have reasonable threads and replies elsewhere but right now your posts read like you're an ***. Either bring constructive, valid and insightful criticism - other than YOU FAIL HARD LULZ - or don't bring anything at all. Ta.
Yeah looks like moron speech to me when people do what we both can do. No Why would I want to drop 3 when I need 1 or 2 or 4 or 5 or 7 or 8? I mean really? When a Dev maps the 3 are they going to be placed in a flexible fashion?
You are the one trying bring something onto a bunch of /Dev players that have had their 7 years and honestly next time before you pick something do your homework. -
Quote:The person that I replied and therefore quoted doesn't seem to have a problem with what I said. My reply was in context with what he said. You keep thinking I'm trying to prove you wrong, when I'm still trying to see if you're saying anything specific at all. Which I've come to the conclusion you're not.
You interjected, you first seemed to presume that I might be lying because you didn't remember me from any talks. Talks you had on the US forums. I am from the European forums. But you then proceed to drag things out.
You either have something to prove that I was never part of any conversion in regards to something Statesman has said or you don't. In this case you won't.
The person I replied to is making light conversion. You should not involve yourself with light conversations if you are going to turn them into something more due to an obvious baseless opinion.
You know I would apologise if I feel that I have done wrong but in this case I make no apologies for light conversation.
I had Frosties this morning, I do not feel that I need a photograph, time and dated to prove it.
