Please roll a Mind Control/Cold Domination Controller.
Enjoy -
Quote:I'm not posting items until I see some prices for last five, can't speak for anyone else on the topic.I am not a marketeer by any means but is it my imagination or are people afraid to post recipes because we no longer have a history to draw from to figure out a fair price?
I know I am and it has been almost a week and there are almost no recipes being posted. Any thoughts from the pros? -
Your cross-server PvP can be found on Freedom or Test.
IO duping, as lol @ is it seems to you actually creates an even playing field where experience, evasion and precise spiking make you come out on top.
Let's be honest, even in the Pinnacle Ladder you have the entirely kitted out toons and experienced people rolling the other teams. That's just the way it is in any gear-oriented environment.
Posi said back in the day that Test was the cross-server PvP enclave, that or move your stuff to Freedom or a heavy pop server. -
LFT, my only PvP toons on Champ are a Grav/TA and a Willpower/EM.
I'll be able to make most Saturdays through September, after that can will be dicey.
I might move one of my Emps over, who knows.
Basically looking to be a 4th/5th on a team.
@Neuronia, @Neuronium
P.S. Kat, is there a reason for PvPEC vent? A lot of teams have their own Vent, I know PoN, Veritas, dUmb, etc all do. If this is a question of arbirtating fairly, a PvPEC vent can be on the channels or something. Granted, that does bog down the process. -
Wow lots of drama here.
In the interest of keeping the ladder together, how about we withdraw it from PvPEC and it can continue as is. Having like...all the teams drop isn't conducive to competition, you know? Yeah, this means that we likely won't be getting prizes for the July event.
This is especially difficult on my end, since as a PvPEC rep I have to include as many people as possible in these events (I hope this answers Blacier's question on the topic). How about we remove the PvPEC tag from the league, Omega and everyone can keep their teams...I can run a PvPEC event every month that includes everyone and is relatively non-cliquey?
Cos otherwise, the only teams are going to be NWS, TWSS, 320 and a few others... I'm not going to be continuing as captain of KGB without Funk around, who got us our other two players in the first place.
So what do you say Omega, Funk, Blacier, everyone...just let everything blow over and you can all still have fun? :/
There's no reason to go from several fights a week to zero. -
Quote:Guys, I talked to Silit and he said there would be no forum drama.nah i had enough of that show the first time around with the pinn bashing and tagging all of our threads......our team stands on its decision
Can we at least have a captain's vote on this from all the teams?
I take it Omega votes no.
Our team has a split vote, so we'll consult with the other two.
Do the other team captains object to this new team joining our 4 v 4 ladder? -
Guys, they're bored and want to play. We are starved for challenges right now anyway. If they roll everyone and hit the top rung so much the better for them...either way it's more competition right?
-
Send tells to people and ask them to join your team, this is the best way to get a team. Otherwise put up your flag or say you are "LFT" in broadcast.
Joining a busy SG might be another way to group up, or try various global channels like Cozmic's Playground or PinnBadges. -
-
Good job Dolly.
I'm waiting for the seven day cooldown for my affirmed heroic status to kick in, then we shall see if Neuronia goes Vigilante (unlikely, but there are badges...) or whether I just catch up on the rest of my badges. So close to 750... -
Same...my impression was that you could only earn one every two days or cash in 20 mil + 50 Reward Merits every day. Not seen anywhere that you could buy a limited amount of stuff outside those restrictions.
-
I have some items for sale but when I looked them up I saw 9 bidding 6 selling with no results so I've just hung on to them for the moment until I see some prices.

Quote:If you're going to touch one of these, let it be Repulsion Field. It's unlikely Castle would transform it into another power altogether, so let's look at what the power does currently:I'd pick either Force Bubble or Repulsion Field and replace it with the Sonic equivalent of Dispersion Bubble [can't remember the name right now, tomax is down for me] but with one severe caveat: you can run EITHER dispersion Bubble or resisto-dispersion bubble, but not both at once. That way if you run into the team that has another force fielder/ice corruptor/six guys with Maneuvers/whatever, you can switch to providing AOE resistance.
(Other people might want to pick the phasing power, I'm fine with that. Just don't touch my Force Bolt and nobody has to get 65% of hurt.)
Repulsion Field:
End Cost:0.78s
Recharge:20s
Cast:2.03s
Effect: Knockback 6.2313 Mag
Radius: 9
Actiave: 0.5
Duration: 0.75
If you're a FFer, what are you typically doing? You're casting Insulation/Deflection Fields, toggling up your Dispersion Bubble and occasionally using Force Bolt, Personal Force Field and Force Bubble.
My own uses Repulsion Bomb as well as it recharges fairly quickly and has some nice secondary effects.
Suggestions, wacky and unpalatable as they may be:
- Make RF into an enemy based toggle. You could choose a target and essentially KB mobs surrounding that target. Would the primary target be KBd as well? Perhaps. Of course, at this point you would probably need the toggle to shut off after a set period or give it a limited range and so on.
- Make RF into a Wormhole variant. Likely to be unpopular, Wormhole is one of the ugly stepchildren among powers and though it has its uses, is a little too 'unpredictable' for many people. Essentially, this would phase out opponents, reinstate them in the knockback animations for a short period. No stun attached, of course.
- Reduce the KB of RF and add a slight ToHit Debuff to the power. Reasoning? The mob gets hit by a wave of knockback, is slightly offput and has trouble hitting you for another few seconds. This dovetails nicely into FFs primary role of defense as well.
- Make RF into a targeted AoE that sets a knockback "pool" on the ground add give the affected foes -Defense for a short period.
- Make RF into a semi-circular aura so that only foes directly in front and to the sides are affected. This is how it generally works out anyway, as players face foes and defeat them, so not sure how useful that really is, or even if this is feasible with current tech.
- Make RF into a "pet" power that can be placed and emits KB and a little -Defense. You could have the "pet" emit various stages of KB, strong then diminishing as it either fades or loses utility.
Still, it would be interesting to see which bubbles are skipped by the playerbase, or which are used seldom if at all. I'd gather most take PFF, Insulation/Deflection, Dispersion, Force Bolt (smattering of players) and Detention Field gets ignroed. Anecdotally, more players have been taking Repulsion Bomb of late and I see more with Force Bubble than Repulsion Field. Your mileage may vary.
Even with changes and tweaks though, it seems that Cold Domination offers survival tools + hefty debuffs and Sonic offers survival + some debuffs and so on. The Repulsion toggle on Sonic is another question mark though...

We challenge NWS as well, let us know when you are available for a tilt.

Worst part was cleaning out old mission arcs. Lost my untimed Dreck that I've had for four years or so and had it replaced, sad panda.
Haven't taken a close look at the new Praetorian arc, but glad they seem to have left some missions in the Tina arc unchanged, that thing was grindy beyond words... -
I got a heroside from ElectroHawk and a redside from Marut so thanks there.
I certainly will be keeping my eyes open if I transfer more stuff, thanks again. -
Quote:https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/St...em&item_id=213So.. the EU version of the pack is there, but where's the US version?
As i'd like to buy it, but the option/link to the US version isn't there..
That should link to the US NCSoft store...and the GR item pack for 6.99.
Hope that helps you out.
If you're hesitant on clicking the link, I went to us.ncsoft.com, then the store then the City of Heroes section and the item pack was somewhere down the page, processing rather quickly. -
I am slowly, inexorably reaching 750 on my Mind Control/Forcefield namesake, who will remain a Hero. Very much enjoying the Tip system and the side events it generates.
It's been entertaining seeing villains and heroes crossing over at various stages, especially a certain badge-addicted Dominator on Champion server. -
Yep, lots of them on Pinnacle and Infinity and Champion. Been helping as best I can, whether teaming or just answering general questions about the game.
-
I'm doing the Powers path with my new Dominator and very much enjoying the new locales and branching dialogue. I did a doubletake when I was sent to Tami Baker, since it immediately reminded of Tambi Baker of Strangers in Paradise lore, but the Praetorian version is rather scrawny, and a secretary, so yeah.
I do hope that GR brings in some new people and that the new people stick and try some of the older content too, as some of it is decent. The new zones, especially Nova Praetoria, are quite pristine...but don't drink the "Cole-aid", as they say.
War Witch has already obliquely confirmed it, but adding onto Praetoria seems pretty much like a must at this point. It would be criminal to have it become a new Shadow Shard, pretty but ultimately forgotten by a ravenous playerbase. -
Quote:With some exceptions, I don't want my characters on any other servers than they are now.And how many people would be so upset by server mergers that they would actually quit the game? What percentage do you think that would be? Do you think it would be significant enough to keep NCSoft from doing it?
I want my Pinnacle alts on Pinnacle.
I want my Champion alts there.
I want my villains on Infinity, that's "home" for them.
I would, at the very least, cancel my second account if they merged servers.
I would strongly consider never purchasing any add-ons, booster packs, additional items for my primary account.
Don't merge, just get the transfer tool up so *I* can move the alts I want to the servers *I* want. -
Quote:I'd like to bring a Rad/Therm Corr or Mind/Cold Troller tonight. All my stuff is pretty IOd, though the Mind/Cold is more IOd PvP side.I think we can break ten mins easily. The timer said 47:30 when we finished the last surrounding mobs and the gm had 1/5 health. Plus we had a few people that got into the last room late. I set up each team to have a brute and we brought all well slotted 50's, very corrupter heavy. -resist,-regen and aoe heals were the key.
-
I'm moving my 43 VEAT to Champion and my 50 Grav/TA Controller to Champion (the latter for kickballs, etc.).
Looking for VG/SG to store them, that has teleporters and a rez circle.
To be fair, I'll probably be playing the VEAT more than the Grav/TA since the latter is all Accod and Purpled/PvPIOd so she's done.
Not looking for something with prestige requirements, just a place to hang out and do some TFs/missions/etc. Willing to stay in SG mode though if that's a requirement.
Reply here, send me a PM on forums or send tell to @Neuronia or @Neuronium with details/info/invites etc. -

Quote:It's pretty much the latter.Yeah, twas fun teeaming up with larger teams like that. Been waiting a long time. Too bad the Trial wasn't ... Umm I don't know more of a challenge I guess. I felt it was way too easy, or maybe its because we had some of the better players from the server under one roof
Go in this with a pug that goes its own way and can't follow directions and you'll struggle to even keep the four spawning mobs at bay. Go with a sense of directions and people that know their roles, you'll likely steamroll it.
GJ all.
