Teams in Praetoria?
Sadly the content isn't really team-friendly if you actually care about content. Of course, it's also not solo-friendly under any circumstances.

Sure some rooms have 20 things in them but they have very small agro ranges. ( to each other too ) I actually pulled a single zombie away from another one that was less than 5 feet away from it. Try doing that consistently in old content.
You just have to play smart and steady and not barge into everything like you did in old content
Why? I am soloing just fine with my level 12 DP/Kin corrupter on +0 / 1. All you have to do is finish in the time it tells you, so you dont get mass ambushes and be smart with your pulling in some rooms.

Yesterday my Elec/Elec Dom died 3 times before finally defeating the same spawn of +1 minions. Even respeccing into a power I was going to take 2 levels later (Jolting Chains) for additional mitigation didn't help (mostly because all your powers are worthless if they miss, which at level 10 they do often). In two or 3 hits my HP bar was reduced by half. Death #4 came at the second spawn group, at which point I gave up and went to go watch TV. It's not that I'm not used to dying. The first toon I leveled was a Blaster, created shortly before Issue 5; I know death. But this is ridiculous, and way outside the design philosophy that the game has been establishing since the split with Cryptic. This feels like it was created by Jack.
I could rant more but don't want to derail the thread. I would team more, but I really do want to run through at least most of the content once. On a team I'll miss mission text, and probably outlevel other content. I'm the sort of guy who burns a Veteran costume token because the Praetorian duplicate of his main isn't the same height (I noticed this on the character select screen), so if something is important to me I will go to ridiculous and inconvenient lengths to do it.

Send tells to people and ask them to join your team, this is the best way to get a team. Otherwise put up your flag or say you are "LFT" in broadcast.
Joining a busy SG might be another way to group up, or try various global channels like Cozmic's Playground or PinnBadges.
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.
Infinity Villains
Champion, Pinnacle, Virtue Heroes
I'm soloing mostly at night right now because I'm enjoying the story lines. So, I'm not really teaming because I want to do the missions at my own pace. (Okay yes, I did team once in Praetoria... but that was because I had an opportunity to team w/friends I haven't teamed with for a long time. But otherwise I'm soloing my Praetoria stuff). But once I'm done with doing the stories... it's back to my nightly TF/SF forming
so far, I prefer to fly solo in Praetoria, only because I like the story lines and enjoy running them at my own pace. and the content IS solo friendly. I did all of the resistance crusader arcs solo on my DP/Dark corr. And I am horrible with corrupters
I'm soloing it now also, the stories are just that interesting. After everyone has done them a few times I'm sure we'll see more teaming in Praetoria. But I really think Praetoria will always have more soloing than the RI or PC, if you're going to race through content on large teams there's sewer runs and police scanners Blue side and paper missions Red side. In Praetoria you get a new contact after every few missions (at least it seems like that) and have to meet them in person.

I have been doing a mix of solo and teaming with friends. I kinda prefer the solo a bit so I can read the mission text, but with a good team I am not missing it.
I do think teaming will be more common once the missions have been run a few times. And so far I seem to die less solo than I do on a team. Like Brakner put it, if I am careful with how I pull I do ok.
Good luck finding a team. :-)

Haven't tried Cozmic so thanks for the heads up.

Question on the mission to defeat the Seer elite boss(sorry, forgot the mission name already). Besides dying then going back in to defeat the mobs of seers and PPD, how did any of you handle the initial ambush? I had almost defeated the EB, with the daughter's help, when I was swarmed and both of us were crushed. Is that where the shadowy presence would have been useful to avoid the mob? If I had a couple temporary powers that time in addition to my vet powers, I think I could have defeated the EB before the mobs arrived. Even with the daughter, I could not damage her quickly enough due to the -recharge from her psi attacks.
I ate a lot of reds and just went to town on the EB, as soon as she dropped I hit Mission Exit before the ambush managed to kill me. That was on a Scrapper and on a Stalker. I'm not going to even try that mission on my Dom.

Praetoria seems to be a tool for newbies to the game, and the solo-only alignment missions seem to me to be both a boon and a curse.
1st off, as a boon: in case your toon wants to do content from whatever contact that may be killed off and would no longer be available to anyone's game-world on a team.
As a curse: The entire team decides they can carry on their Praetorian career minus that said contact. The team just wants to steamroll through Praetoria because they're either veterans or quick learning newbs.
It's actually quite simple to solo many of the missions save a rare few. Just leave your map open, use Reveal if you have it, avoid the mobs, turn off taunt auras, and move. Or, just clear all maps.
Is everyone deciding to solo Praetoria first or are many people playing hero/villain instead? Fullest I've seen the servers in a long time and still can't get a team. Tried inviting some people but no responses. Anyone want to team?
Send a tell to @magmafist if interested. I will be playing for a few more hours still.
Edit: Hah, just need to post and got an invite.
