  1. I got to see Cuppa at Pocket D during the Meet the Devs event...she was a Peacebrnger.

    How appropriate.

  2. Revenge, Level 50 Ninja Blade/Ninjutsu Stalker.

Started him in Beta, first villain I make, first 50 villain.

Levelling at Arbiter Diaz, where I started my career.

    Life is good!!!

  3. Gratz all.

49.2 on my Stalker I'll likely ding tonight.

  4. Thank you so much!

They are by far my favorite high-level villain group; loved doing the Project: World Wide Red and Gentlemen of Malta arcs...and Malta newspaper missions... .

  6. Thanks a lot Positron!

    Appreciate the change!

  7. I will sign this as well.

May I suggest that the Hammer Down badge, for defeating the Ghost of Scrapyard, replace the damage taken requirement?

Scrapyard is fairly tough to take down, requires teaming and comes with a bevy of helpers as well to make the encounter challenging.

It's an encounter available to anyone who can enter Sharkhead Isle as well...so it isn't level-restricted by any means.

Thematically, it fits the "Born in Battle" theme by involving a lot of heavy, intense combat to achieve a goal.

    Just a thought?

  8. Well I was using demorecord to get it going and the CoH launcher to replay it. I also downloaded Frap but haven't opened it yet too busy...

Basically I'd like to know how to not have repeated speech bubbles if that's possible.
  9. I tried to make a movie of my namesake showing the Rikti Crash Site to people, it started at the DMZ then had me teleporting to the spaceship and after I faceplanted, the hospital.

It went fairly well except that when I "spoke" I would get double speech bubbles.

  10. almost to 45...not having PLs is hurting for sure.

Black Amaranth has a 50 as well...

I think my biggest 'problem' is that I don't want to miss out on any content or story arcs, so I'm taking it slooow.

  11. I am also going to disagree on the "only one raid per day" theory. On Champion a little while back we did multiple raids on Saturdays and raids daily (sometimes twice).

To expand on the "8-man team can't do Hami"; while this may be true at its source, several members of the Champion community managed to take down Hamidon with around 20 or so people, perhaps much less. It involved Team Teleport, Transfusion and a bunch of other things once considered unviable in Raids.

It caused such a stir in our server that people were afraid of Hamidon being 'monopolized".

To return to the Strike Force, congratulations...I only hope thta my only 43 may be of use when it goes live...

So for the SHOEs :P Do they have the same attributes and graphics as the original?

    So here’s my challenge:

    (1) Explain exactly WHY an AT with so many melee powers in all their different secondaries should not be effective in melee.

    (2) Explain exactly WHY it is bad for a brute’s secondary powers to be ineffective in PvP, but it’s OK for blasters’ secondaries to be made ineffective.

[/ QUOTE ]Last time I checked, those Blaster melee attacks still did a heck of a lot of damage. Far as I can tell, the toggle drop rate changes didn't remove any of that damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

OK, so it sounds like blasters’ melee-based secondaries are considered effective in PvP.

So then why are so many melee players saying that it’s unfair for blasters to be effective in melee range? (Not singling out Uberguy or Snakegandhi as saying this.)

I guess it’s this point I’m interested in addressing.

I understand the many posters who are saying that current toggle dropping levels are too high. I can see that now. Yes, I have actually come around to agree with the other side in a forum debate! I think that the proposed changes are too much, but I can see that some change is necessary.

Still, that doesn’t address what I see as a significant problem with the perspective of many (not all) melee players here. That’s the attitude that says “blasters should not be as good at melee as I am.” or “I am a brute, squishies must all fall before me or there’s something very wrong with game balance.”

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hi Zub...

To me when it comes down to the character creation screen. When I build a Scrapper it says that few can match the Scrapper in hand to hand (or somesuch) so I expect the Scrapper to be the king of melee.

I have no objects to Blasters doing a fair amount of damage up close, something must offset their low defenses and hit points after all...but I do feel Scrappers should be the comparison point for melee ATs.

As to the toggle drop changes, I see them as positive. I can't remember the amount of times I've been stunned and toggle dropped by an Energy Melee or even Assault Rifle and gone squish.

If, in the end, this adds more survivability to the various archetypes and makes more people try PvP, it's a positive change.

  13. Well I have the WIdow pet...so likely 3 Recharge, 2 Damange and the last slot either going to Accuracy or Debuffs if that's allowed.

  14. Reporting that the Test Ceremony of Red Widow mission now completes normally, as does the rest of that story arc.

  15. There is a bug with the elapsed time on temp powers.
I got my only one in a Brickstown Mayhem Mission about a week or two ago and I still had it logging on today...it's supposed to be a one game day period no?

I'd logged in several times since obtaining it.
  16. I just got one to do in Founders' Falls...went into the Bank, got waylaid by Longbow then went to jail.

After busting out of the jail, I found myself in the middle of bluespace (sky?) with the city map above me. I fell (?) and went to 1 hit point. I hit my self-heal and hopped around some more with no success.

    Unable to reenter game map.

    Bugged it.

Actually aside from that one trial there's nothing else added to it. I mean PvP is a game mechanic and the bases are a tool for utilizing that they themselves aren't "content" in the sense that people have been asking for content as in missions, TFs, trials, etc for their 50s...

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I, myself, consider bases and baseraids content, I think Shak meant specifically the Cathedral trial is new content.

It certainly is. And it's exactly what a lot of people have been clamoring for for months: a mid-size raid that can be done with more than just 8 people. It means that the tech is in place to have similiar "raids" in the future and maybe even a possible instanced Hamidon-like encounter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'll respectfully have to disagree.

While it is new content in that a new instance has been created with mission type content and rewards, it has forced PvP content installed along with it.

This alone makes it an unwelcome addition to the game.

I can definitely state that without even have seen the Cathedral of Pain content or the Items of Power, my supergroup and villain group will be disregarding it since we have no wish of having our base trashed.

I'd like to have new high-level content that doesn't put my and my teammates possessions at risk, thank you.

Kudos to the Devs though for the hard work and the intention.
  18. In the Test Ceremony on Red Widow - Utilize Soul Crystal, the Crystal cannot be interacted with at all.

Killed all the mobs in the map as well.

Filed a bug report about this.

  19. Incredible amounts of fun!

Did my first one just now and killed the Hero and mission didn't end immediately. Rapidly figured out that had to kill other mobs as well.

Blew up cars, mailboxes and even police drones!

Was fun killing drones, not used to those things being killable!

Great job, and wasn't buggy at all either.
  20. I would like to create a bind that would do an emote then Placate.

I was told that /bind <key> "em fades into the shadows$$powexec_name placate"

would do it...but I used another emote and the bind just executed the power and not the emote?

  21. I crash every time I try to enter Ghost Widow's first mission.
Oddly enough, I accompanied someone into this mission last evening and it was fine.

I have tried running in safe mode as well, with no progress or help.

Other missions and zones seem to work fine (Tried newspaper missions in St. Martial and contact missions in Nerva and Grandville)

As to the powers...trying the snipe myself and the hold, I'll see about the pet.

Is there a Patron indicator on your villain once you've chosen a patron? Something like "Ghost Widow's Knight" or "Captain Mako's Apprentice" or what not? It would be flavorful and cool.

  22. I am still very excited to play this game and enjoy myself immensely. The Developers have done a good job and structured the power and enhancement system so as to easily implement new power sets.

With Issue 7 coming out "Soon(tm)" and Issue 8 likely out in the fall, we should all have something to do to keep us busy.
The Veteran's Reward system is something I am thankful for. I have not been on this game for a long long time, but endgame content is something I've yearned for and am glad to see it get implemented.

Concerning the next box: am I correct in understanding the content will be available via patch, but the retail box will add extra bells and whistles?

Or will we have to obtain the retail box contain all the new content individually?

Either way, I look forward to see what you all have planned for us.

    Cheers and Happy 2nd!
  23. LOgically, the portal should be somewhere in Peregrine Island.

It would be cool if it was in Faultline, however.
