thanks for all your great work here and best of luck in your future endeavors!

I hear in I20 they're adding backscatter scanners to the City Hall lobby....

I had no problems getting medals back in the day with Combat Jumping once I memorized the course- my key to good times was knowing what was coming and anticipating rather than reacting.
I've done a few runs on alts over the past couple of days and Ninja Run pwnz the course.
And yeah, IR is the best. When I had more free time I'd park my kin at the top of the slopes and buff anyone who asked. -

The Vulture Capitalist's Michael Jackson impersonation was rather indelible, wasn't it?
=D
While my play time is severely limited, my sporadic schedule is almost tailor made for marketeering.... -
Quote:Uh....sure they do.Namely, the abilities to make your cleavage larger then your head. Real girls, in real life, don't have breasts that big.
Maybe not *naturally*, but....they're out there.
Also, in the primary source material for the game cartoonishly massive breasts are the exception rather than the rule, usually combined with a waistline that would make a Victorian lady bust her whale-bone girdle in envy.
I personally just peg the slider to 'minimum' for my female characters and forget about it, but I can understand your discomfiture as an actual gal.
But both reality and the comic genre are abundantly populated with massively oversized breasts...I'm afraid you won't get much traction with that argument. -
Quote:IRL is working me so hard if I reduced my CoH time any more the game would be playing ME. =P
Is anyone else drasitically reducing their playtime and feeling like I do?
But when I am able to log on there's more interesting stuff to do than ever- in fact, this is the first time I can remember when *EVERYTHING* didn't come to a screeching halt except 'the event' (whichever event it was). Sure lots of people are running this or that winter deal, but I'm still seeing people looking for tip teams, people forming TFs, people looking for Alpha teams, and there are enough people completing Lady Grays for Rikti invasion to be something of a regular occurance- a few times a week I'll log in to check my market traps and catch on with a Rikti team.
I mean, everyone has their own ideas of fun and if you're not feeling it right now, fair enough. But from where I'm sitting there's more stuff and cooler stuff going on than ever before. I wish I had more time to check it all out. -
Quote:we actually had a fun, impromptu dance party under the city hall dome for the 88's inauguration....in any case, we can congregate in the market channel and meet up somewhere. Maybe someone will be holding a costume contest, since we'll all be broke after. =D
We cant gather in the base because we have to be at City Hall to burn inf....and really who the hell wants to party at city hall? ....
Hopefully I won't have any IRL holiday shenanigans interfere with my virtual celebration of light and renewal!
=P -
consolidated all my random inf via gleemail, it looks like I'll have 6 or 7 billion for the celebration barring big overnight sales.
combine with the 2.5 Mandur will be burning off from my pvp IO purchase and I'll be close to 10b contributed.
wheeeeee! -

some cool ideas there, Plainguy!
I've already got him set up for the build I posted, but he's got piles of respecs so I'm not totally locked in.
I think I'll play it 'as is' once I get it all slotted out (almost there, just waiting on some Supefies, of all things) and see how I like it, then maybe do some tweaks. -

I do have one 'theory' comment, which is emphasize ranged defense even if it costs you slightly in some other area. The ability to leverage Caltrops is one of the strengths of /dev, it lets you really get the most out of ranged defense.
-
I don't know enough to critique anyone's build, but there's a lot of good general advice and some comparison builds in my ar/dev retrofit thread.
-
level 10, very nice!
Good luck with the auction. -
Quote:No, it isn't. In fact it is an inevitable one. Sooner or later either the AE system in particular or the game in general will be shut down. When that happens everyone's arcs get "junked". There is no reason to burden the system with garbage no one including the creator is even touching any more.
"Eventually the game is going to die so who cares what happens" is a remarkably stupid, shortsighted argument even for you.
Gratz on lowering your own bar, which I thought was already resting on the ground. -
Quote:It's an awful idea. While in theory you have a point, in practical terms, not so much.
Each successive change to the AE causes more and more arcs to become invalid, inactive accounts are not fixing their arcs to make them playable again, thus over time they add to the massive list we need to sift through without being actually PLAYABLE.
So yes, lets toss out the old bathwater.
Like anything else, the AE needs periodic maintenance. This is but one type.
Even if an arc had been rendered invalid a returning player would expect it to still be there.
A good search GUI would solve the problem of abandoned, invalid arcs without irritating paying customers. Alternatively, they could code something that automatically unpublished invalid arcs until the authors modified them.
Junking arcs wholesale is just an awful idea. -

finally read the guide and IMHO this is the key graf:
Quote:this applies not just to /dev, but to all the other 'underwhelming' sets out there. Why play a set which is inefficient compared to other sets? Because this game is not fundamentally about efficiency of builds. It's about building a character that looks cool to you. It's about awesome super heroes doing amazing things and being stunning.
in fact.....SIG'ED. -
You'll never convince me this movie was 'well written' in any meaningful sense.
it's slightly less of a crime against language than some other mainstream multi-megamillion budget Hollywood blockbusters of recent vintage....MAYBE, but I'm still skeptical. -
