Ragman loves price caps and that's good enough for me!!!1

RAGEQUITTERS who manage to stay out of a thread for ten minutes, let alone 4 days, deserve special commendation.
maybe they canceled, maybe not...but let us pause for a moment and admire the iron determination it took them to not keep posting here in a vain effort to have the 'last word'.

I dunno where all the DOOM is coming from.
I've been playing Triumph almost exclusively for the past six months or so and the population seems pretty much the same as it has for much of the modern era.
If I can find folk to team with when I feel like teaming, that's enough pop for me. -
Quote:I was in steel canyon university and another player was RPing as a mime, followed me around doing annoying emotes, spamming alakazam react and wouldn't leave me alone. I repeatedly asked it to leave me alone in tells and received in reply "((RP WITH ME OR I WONT STOP))", then back to annoying emotes.
That'd be hilarious, if it actually happened.
Which I seriously doubt. -
Quote:I'm glad I checked out this thread again. It speaks directly to whether NC Soft is charging a fair price for this content. Just because you are willing to pay, doesn't mean the price is fair. You're right that value has a subjective component to it, so to establish whether the price is fair (within some margin of error), all you can really do is compare what's provided and its cost to other similar things. In this case, the content provided by the game is similar (in nature, not quantity). The amount of content you get per dollar is nowhere close to what you get when you buy the game, or any game. That is as close as you can get to an objective measure of the fairness of the price. And the result of that measure is, it's ridiculous, particularly in light of the fact that you also have to pay your subscription fee to actually use that content. So the cost isn't $10... it's actually much higher than that..
Your prose embodies that indefinable je ne se quois exuded by folk who pen individually coherent sentences that, when strung together in sequence, make absolutely no sense at all.
Kudos, sir or madam! -
gaming related gifts:
1: the new CoD from a pal who wanted me to play, which led to
2: A new (to me) vid card since my old one wouldn't boot the game.
I also used twenty bucks of xmas money on the Steam bargain bin-
Champs Online for ten bucks (w/free month), Star Wars: KotR, Freedom Force & S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
At my rate of consumption that's a good 12 months of gaming for less than taking the wife to a movie- win! -

Congratulations, but I dock you points for not providing the traditional screenshot.

if you make a profit and have fun, it's a good scheme.
I was flipping uncommons in the middle of Meow Fever- could have turned much larger profits doing other things, but I really enjoyed getting such ridiculous markups on once and future junk drops. -
Quote:I have some recipes in the teens. If the dancing feline can't set you up, I'll see if I can help out. I think all my holdings are on Freedom, maybe a few on Champion, but we should be able to work something out.
I'm pulling your Eeebil Cartel membership if this kind of philanthropic behavior continues!

Quote:I don't know how this whole server transfer will play out, all I know is yesterday at 1pm eastern there were only 42 people on Triumph.
I was on triumph battling it out with the winter dude with 20+ other players last night.
As always, player observations of server population are meaningless as a measure of actual population. Only the devs know that.
I've never had problems finding people to team with on Triumph and I've been there since the doors opened. It's not Freedom, but neither is it a deserted, dying ghost town. -
I find the slopes fairly easy to master with either Combat Jumping or Inertial Reduction. The temp jump pack or SJ would probably work too, although I haven't personally tried them.
In my experience air control is more important than raw speed. -

Quote:I do a lot of business in low level stealth IOs.
So, I guess my real question, rather than just a rant, is how do people get these things that just aren't on the market? Or do they?
Supply isn't gigantic, but it's enough to keep me interested.
My advice is put up reasonable bids across a range of levels up to your limit and you'll have your recipe in relatively short order. -
lowbie billionaire: plus
no monocle: minus
overall: GRATZ!! -
It must check every 10 seconds regardless, because whenever i go AFK for an extended period I come back to a string of "your damage has been increased" messaged in my status window.

oh is THAT what that badge is!
it was driving me crazy, I kept getting it on everyone I logged in and had no idea why.
maybe I should mention I have no interest in beta testing, just to further enrage certain parties. =P -
1 Armed Man, my kat/regen, has been around since Katana used the Broadsword animations. I hauled him bodily through near perma-debt until he got IH, then laughed like a maniac all the way to 49 when the famous "don't worry regen" + ED inspired me to take a vacation. After that I played CoV exclusively until I9, when my enjoyment of the market drove me back blue-side. I looked over my stable, figured it was time I had a 50, respec'ed him and polished things off. Now I'm slowly working on IO'ing him to the teeth.
Nethergoat, a fire/dark corrupter, is my level 50 villain. He finally hit the inf cap and I'm about to go on a shopping spree to purple him out. Not the world's most efficient farmer, but I have fun with him.
Big Payback is my token "gimp" 50, an AR/Dev who I retired years ago after assorted nerfs made him more of a pain than a joy to play. Eventually the game changed enough that he looked playable again, so I thought I'd take him to 50 and give him a l337 IO build just to see what kind of difference it would make. Right now he's about halfway there, with half his powers slotted the way I want and a rapidly growing 500 mil nest egg.
I have quite a few characters in the 40s and really should get my emp/elec Doctor Love to 50 one of these days, but I'm not all that goal oriented when it comes to levelling. -

As a much more part-time player than I have been for most of my CoH career, I like the new EZ-LEVEL philosophy. Even with my limited play time I can still make an appreciable chunk of progress if I concentrate.
For new characters, getting past the junky old content is a lot faster, which is great. For established characters, it has eliminated 'dead zones' that previously stalled many of my characters who weren't optimal soloists.
I like our new world order. -
Quote:Just hit 66 months and I see nothing really special this time around. 5 more Salvage slots, 5 more Receipe slots, and 1 new auction slot.
That is a super awesome vet reward for anyone interested in the market.
Just because you don't grasp its utility doesn't mean it's crummy and the devs are giving up.
