devs hate AR.
they especially hate AR/Dev -
it takes 100 years to set up, goes off whenever it darn well feels like it and usually misses most of the enemies in its AoE. It might have some minor situational utility for a set that didn't already have Trip Mine. In /dev it is redundant and useless.

Quote:Fulmens speaks truth.Kendo: if you try for too much you will get undercut. If you're moving low-end stuff people don't care much if they pay 4M or 8 M for it. More accurately, people who care what they pay care enough to craft it themselves. I first realized this when I listed something for (I don't remember the exact numbers) something like 28 million and it sold, the next day, for 42 million. Not an instant sale where someone wanted it and had a bid waiting... someone looked, saw there was one for sale, and didn't even TRY a relatively low bid for it.
With my MA antics lately I've been dealing with a LOT of recipes and crafted IOs. I list everything as cheaply as I can to ensure fast sell through. Quite often buyers give me multiples of my modest asking price, all on their own.
One of the great secrets of the market which seems to utterly confuse many, many people is that there is a large population that values their limited gaming time much more than their play money.
If they can save a couple of minutes buying a crafted IO for 20 million NAO instead of messing around crafting their own for less, they pay with a smile on their faces. -
Quote:I was running around with a new demon MM a while back and was totally shocked when I listed a couple of Spell Inks at 1 and they just sat there looking at me.By the way, I just ran a stalker up to 10, oldschool- no teams, no temp powers, selling all salvage for 1 and buying every TO I could- and had 61K in the bank. And villainside market in the sub-20 stuff is notoriously soft. . . some of that stuff didn't instasell at 1 inf.
Ah well, just one more reason to look forward to the merger! -
Quote:hah, that's awesome!I found it! This website has lots of ding sounds from various MMO's, including CoH.
bookmarking on the off chance I ever cave in and get a cell phone. -
Quote:my wife felt like crap for the first few months, then felt GREAT for the rest of it up until the last few weeks when she was really uncomfortable. but for most folk the sickness and nausea go away.I know that this is a happy time of my life but why do I have to be sick and not just enjoy being pregnant, 8pm every day like clockwork (are they behind this?) I feel horable. Even though the sickness is slowly going away I want my "normal" life back.
best advice anyone gave me and which I'll pass along to everyone else:
THE PREGNANT LADY IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
So swallow your typography critiques.
Best of luck for the rest of your term, the end result is well worth all the struggle and misery! -
A pretty barren level, one good drop (Empowered Sigil) and that was it.
Finished off Hardcase's arc, burned a Mission Complete on the second of back-to-back 'kill all wailers!' Will need to grind some newspapers to get a new contact as he blew me off until I'm 35th (oh yeah, looking forward to *that*).
I bumped up my difficulty a notch and it still isn't a challenge, I might bump it up again although I'd need to slot more acc.
another note, as I play him fairly infrequently he's basically in a state of perma-patrol XP so he's burning through these levels pretty fast, further reducing his drop potential. -

my fire/ice is pretty bulletproof.
Massive AoE output + fantastic mitigation = good times -

I was reminded of this thread and will be updating soon!

my only tip is DON'T BE AR/DEV.
=P -
Quote:days?I just hope that everyone predicting one way or the other in terms of supply/demand/prices resulting from the merger will give it a few days before slinging "I told you so"s around.
try months.
even the (relatively) minor disruptions of a generic 'new issue release' take weeks to subside.
A history wipe would cause major disruption.
A merger would cause major disruption.
A new expansion would cause major disruption.
And we're getting all three at once.....WHEEEEEEEEEE! -

Quote:Nice to see your long vacation from the forums hasn't reduced your capacity for posting total gibberish. My point was this: that Speed Boost is a far, far greater annoyance to some people than Mystic Fortune could ever be......
*thumbsup*
looking forward to your defending this completely invalid "point" to the death, or at least until you get so thoroughly trounced you *poof* vanish for another six months or so until you think people have forgotten. -
Quote:one is a massive game changing buff available to a specific powerset, the other is a random minor effect available to any character in the game with a spare ten bucks. They are somewhat comparable. See my post for an example (Assuming you can read it).
I suppose they're comparable in that one player is applying an effect to another, but that's about it. -
Quote:yes, because application of one of the very best buffs in the entire game from someone playing a /kin is the same as a random minor effect that any character in the game can have in their power tray. What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander: I say unto thee, Adapt.
I can't remember the last time a random stranger SB'ed me at the market.
On the other hand these days it's a rarity to check my bids without someone trying to read my fortune.
Neither buff annoys me. Pretending they're comparable is a joke. -
my guide:
1: put yourself on 'follow'
2: rock the aura
3: go AFK until you hear the mission complete
4: PROFIT!

Playing under wacky self-imposed conditions can be a lot of fun, and I always choose fun over being 'good'.
One of my fave characters of the last year or so is my concept 'all natural' stalker- ninja blade/willpower with the visuals turned off, no travel power. Before Ninja Run he just sprinted around with slotted swift and as many GotA +runspeeds as I could stuff in his build. Ninja Run is perfect for him, but I kept all the other speed stuff too- he BOOKS for a dude with no 'real' travel power.
Also, in our amazing modern world you can dual-build, one for concept and one for utility. -
fire blasters rock.
but I made a new dark/dark brute last night (got an idea for the new bio mutie bits) and hit level 6 in what seemed like five minutes mowing the beaches in Mercy, so.... -
Quote:why, exactly?Granted..the bushy tail /should've/ been given as a freebie to everyone..
Picked up the pack and had a chance to mess around with it and it's a nice bunch of kit to mess around with.
There are complaints with some weight in this thread- those joins are just fugly. Biolum as a pattern would be fantastic. the lack of new monstrous bits is a little depressing, as is the continuing could shoulder given to Katana.
But from where I'm sitting it measures up nicely with previous origin packs. Some cool stuff I'll use a lot, some situational stuff I probably won't, some nice emotes and a fun power. As with any pack there are nits to pick, but I'm very happy with my purchase. -
Defeat 50 anything is why God invented 'complete mission y/n'.

I ran my fire/rad through my fave map last night, and WOW.
He blew through a +2/x8 faster than my ar/dev can do a +0/x8. -
