  1. If you get the chance, I was trying to use your Demo Edit program to edit a demo in the WarZone (shields down, U'kon up) and it fails to load. Dies on a cast from ENT to double. Ive stripped out just about everything except creating NPCs and me, but it still harfs. Dont know if there is anythign unique to the warzone, but it does play in demoplayer just fine.

  3. FYI, this badge can be had in about 5 hours.
    We did this a month or so back for someone who wanted to get some heal farming done. Took the "agressor" and 2 of us lackeys cycling toons in.
    If 2 people from your SG partake, youll likely get the 750 PvP Kills need for the fusion generator.
  4. I would like to add that LR's non-low health summon is interruptable by debuff toggles. Rad or Dark work niceless, but require the tanker have taunt to keep LR focused on him.

    Sniping 101:
    LOS is a huge factor in sniping and that "ridge" separating the 2 ramps to the inner circle is the key. You can position yourself so you can only see the outside AV (and only the outside AV can see you) using that middle ridge as a blocker. Take the shot from there then retreat backwards, then to the side. If you slide sideways too fast, the inner AV will see you and come as well.

    Powerboosted Emps FTW:
    Not only does PBU turn Fortitude into MEGAFortitude, it also provides its boost to tactics for 10 seconds. My Emp is Rad on the side, so I can drop Fort on the tank, then squeeze off several rad blasts with thier -Def component to get a decent chain going. Mako is really a wuss if the Emp doesnt suck.

    Any tank on Recluse? Not without the proper buffs. LR is an energy monger, so Inv and Ice are particularly weak against him at the start. Some oranges and a sonic for +Res are very very important because all the +Def in the work dont mean diddly against his massive +Acc +toHit. Once the towers start dropping its not so bad, but until then, Def based tanks are just squishies with extra hps against LR.

    The Tree:
    Again focusing on an alert Emp, but you have 4 seconds from the point the squishie gets tree aggro to save him. I've seen several ways about this, and the simplist is just the have the tank handle the area infront of the tree with the Emp backing him up (out of LOS) and everyone else kills the vines (after the CoT sweep). Its really easy if the tank clears those vines infront of the tree while the team sweeps. The tree's aggro range is not quite 180 degrees, its more like 120 degrees. 4-8o'clock or so.
  5. Pinnacle/Avid.... yeah. Thats what I use, tho it is certainly quite quirky, it does just about everything and then some. Pinnacle has tools for all sorts of effects/overlays, blend, green screen, 1000s of transitions.. its rather impressive once you get the hang of it.

    (ToHit-def)*Accuracy = Chance to Hit.
    Base accuracy is 1.00. Base toHit is .5.
    If you have some Def, say 15%...
    (.5-.15)*1 = 35%
    Cut that .5 to .3 from the debuff...
    (.3-.15)*1 = 15%.

    Now lets say its debuffing accuracy instead of toHit.
    (.5-.15)*.8 = 28% or about 7% reduction.

    Could very well be a misplaced debuff.
  7. My five year old doesn't play (yet), but he does like to sit in my lap and watch me play. And he's a stickler for details; like why did I use my base to go to Perigrine Island instead of taking the boat (I was in Talos already).
    When he was younger he was largely engaged by all the numbers on the screen.... then he sat in on a hami raid and I was part of the healing blanket. I thought his head was going to explode trying to keep up with all the numbers (old hami raid).

    Obviously the profanity filter is a must. On a STF I had to apologize to everyone on Vent because his "commentary" on the mission was getting picked up by my mic. He kept insisting I use my "clock circle" power (Gaes accolade power.. looks like a clock in a circle), and trying to explain that was quite amusing.

    While probably not the best "father-child" bonding expereience, CoX does have its high points.

    The problem is that the reference is "customweapon.fx" but that is a link that should be telling the loader to reference the players costume to get the correct weapon, but is failing so nothing gets drawn. There is probably a "weaponhammer.fx" or something similar that if we knew we could hand code into the files to fix for now until the demoloader gets its hooks done right.

  12. Add to the list of Base improvements:
    Add "Priority" flags to base items to allow them to get power and control when the base is running low.
    Or
    Base Item: Fusebox
    Has 2 settings: Construction and Raid. In the construction setting, Workshop items will receive power and control before Medical and Defensive items if the base is running low. In Raid setting, Medical and Defensive will recieve power and control before Workshop items.

    This would allow you to create the basic generator/control to power the high priority items to create the higher tier ones.
  13. Here is a demo file that I got my footage from for the scenes around :37s into my video. Notice the "EntRagdoll" entries. Those no long appear in demorecords. Instead you get some canned "MOV" entries that just dont look very good and nothing like what you saw while playing.

    Edit: It doesnt even playback properly now. Its like the ragdoll entries are being ignored and you get the sad KB playback as you would see from current demorecords.
  14. Check this out. The all the scenes around the first chorus (:37) have the ragdoll entries. Some of the fights later (1:00, 1:44) do not. You can see a dramatic difference in how the mobiles react to getting hit and knocked around. (and yes thats how long ive been working on this)

    Been working on this for way too long. Im up to about 2:40 of 4:20, but the lack of ragdoll entries makes the combat scenes alot harder to do. I just need to bunker down and finish the silly thing.
  16. I thought FXSCALE was one of the do not mess with settings.

    And as for moving the camera around, its just tedious math. I did a 10 second circle in Pocket D (with the sig AVs and heroes all dancing). Took about 30mins to calc the points and plug them in. You also need to set the pitch,yaw,roll (PYR) to point the camera in the right direction.
  17. Has anyone had any luck getting the "Ragdoll" entries to show up in the demorecord files since, like i7?

    I really miss recording cool knockbacks and having they replay accurately.

    The ToHitDeBuff/End IO uses Schedule A for both (26.5%) but all the other IOs in the set use Schedule B for ToHitDebuff.

    Pacing of the Turtle:
    /Rech IO in the set shows "Slow Attack Speed" as its effect when slotted, not Recharge Time.
  19. Nope. There is no auto exemplaring. 50s stay 50.
    The trick is that you have to be level 41 or below to actually get the guns needed to kill the hydra. So a single 41 can exemplar everyone one at a time as they click the glowies to get the guns. The 50s wipe up all the mobs and you are done in about 30 mins or so. Pretty easy recipe.

  21. Well on Champion Server, this weekend (nov 3-4) we are going to be running many LGTFs to spawn many zone invasions for those that need to get those badges yet. LGTF is a great inf/xp source so its a win/win for everyone.

    Well we know Recluse has dabbled in time travel and the "resets" on the anchors in RV.... what if someone tweeks the resets a little too far backwards....

    Anyone remember the Story arc with the time traveler from the 5th Column circa 1940. Of cource it still leaves the question of Nemesis involvement as well... this scenario seems to remove him from the game.

    They've been talking about a shake up, but this would be mind blowing.


    One more thing... 4 years? Correct me if Im wrong, but wasn't 4 years ago the beginning of the CoH testing (Alpha or closed Beta)? I dont think open/public Beta testing started until Feb, but 4 years is an important clue.... (And arent all the fallen contacts that were introduced after the initial rollout)
