CAM positions and FXSCALE

I was wondering if someone could tell me an easy (or easier) way to do some CAM movements. Currently, I move to first person and fly or hover around for shots that circle the player or scene. I have tried to do it putting in CAM coordinates but you have to do too many to get it smooth. Is there a wizard or a good way to make the camera circle around? I can move it in X,Y,Z fashion fine but its the panning around that I can't figure out.
Also, anyone have any luck in using FXSCALE to cut the FX down or enlarge it? Maybe I don't know the right arguements to use.
Thanks.

I thought FXSCALE was one of the do not mess with settings.

And as for moving the camera around, its just tedious math. I did a 10 second circle in Pocket D (with the sig AVs and heroes all dancing). Took about 30mins to calc the points and plug them in. You also need to set the pitch, yaw, roll (PYR) to point the camera in the right direction.

Zloth's demo editor can deal with movement in circles and lines. Once you get used to the interface it works pretty well. As for the FXSCALE lines, I've never messed with them specifically. You can always get rid of FX entirely by taking out the accompanying lines, but you probably knew that already.

You can also try my demo editor. The "Interpolation Wizard" can handle lines, circles, and parabolas. Unfortunately, all the reference points need to be static (so you can rotate around a single location, but you can't rotate around a moving character).

You might also want to check out the "Generate PYR from POS" wizard, which can automatically point the camera (or anything else) at another reference in the demo or automatically make them it forwards along its movement patch.

I'll warn you that I haven't touched this thing in a year or so, but I'm always happy to muck around in the code if you have any questions or requests.

Balshor!!! So, my insideous plot to simply outlive you has failed!

Sweet!

Yeah, my interface is rough to say the least. I almost didn't do the feature at all because I couldn't figure out a good interface. But I can make objects and the camera spin or move in straight lines and maintain facing. And it works (more or less) smoothly into your existing demo.

I still have a little demo playback on Imageshack that tries to show a little Warshade pet and clockwork guy spinning around my blaster as she flies along. It's awful hard to see in that little window, though. I really should find that original demo and pop it up on w00t.

thankyou all for the suggestions. I will try them out.

Also, is there any way to use Base objects? like pillars and chairs, desks, file cabinet, etc.? I took a demo in a base but only saw the generator, reclaimator, etc. listed.
