    MA Mondays!

    [ QUOTE ]
Good luck and great fun to those running MA Monday tonight.

Since you're looking for arcs, here's one for the queue:

Arc Name: There's Something in the Water
    Arc ID: 60327
    Faction: Villianous
    Creator Global/Forum Name: @PK Dauntless
Difficulty Level: Medium (Soloable, one optional AV/EB)
Synopsis: Dr. Aeon's finally had it with stories of Paragon City citizens and their greater-than-normal abilities. Help him get to the bottom of these claims. (Solo-friendly. HUmorous. For levels 40-50)

ETA: And by 'queue' I mean that I fully understand you will get to it when you get to it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

FYI, this is a fantastic arc. One of only two arcs I have 5 star-ed out of the 100+ I've run.
  3. Only one mistake. You weren't completly honest from the get go about his pitching. As soon as a problem develops, and you notice something out of the ordinary (like not practicing, not throwing hard, control issues), say something to both the player and the parents.

And you have to present it from the team's perspective, not the individual. The player in question's hitting is irrelvent to his pitching. Its his high percentage of balls and likely hits (low speed) that are leading to runs allowed, which leads to losses, which leads to poor team morale.

To be fair that arc did have a fair bit of suggestive content that was perhaps borderline for a T rated game. I didn't think it crossed the line, but I can see where the complainers are coming from.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ever done the State's TF? Aeon Mission with the 4 Patron sidekicks. I wont ruin it for those that havent, but one of the AV's dialog ventures pretty deep in BDSM-land. And thats developer content. If the dev's can go that far, players should be given the same level of latitude.
  5. The burning forest map was likely removed because of its high density of spawn points. It made for a great battlefield... but likewise, it made a farmers paradise. Buzz from the bees is that they are working on a MA version of the same map but with fewer spawn points and less objectives.
  6. There was maintainence on the PlayNC store this morning and has since finished. I dont see why it wouldnt work now.
  7. So you have no credability. =P

Doing impresses more than telling. Especially in sports.

When teaching my current team (12-15yr old girls) about catching and throwing the runner out at second, I started talking about the importance of it. One of the girls who wanted to be a catcher promptly said that she couldnt throw it that far. I simply showed her footwork and technique and rifled a few. And lo and behold, she started getting the ball to second on the fly. A bit of an arc, but I can work with that.

Same for throws from the outfield. Talk the talk, then show them. And then they start trying because they see that the coach can do what he says can be done.

Hitting, pitching... all the same. Talk it, show the form, then do it. And then they will start doing it too.

  8. Not all maps have defined "Front" "Middle" "Back" zones.

Yes its a pain to find the ones that do.

(None of the outdoor maps do, and very few of the single level maps do. Its seems to be somewhat consistant tho that multi level maps have each floor tagged as one of the zones).
  9. OHKO is a bad thing. OHKO AoE is a very bad thing. He could wipe a team with a single blast. Not even Hami can do that.

And unless the uber blast ignored intangible, we would be back to PA dropping.

Since he is immune to effects, you cant even taunt him, so you end up with a raid that is horridly chaotic and with low numbers, would wipe repeatedly. And likely not much fun. The concept is good, but its not playable as spec'ed right now.

Also, 30 seconds to kill an AV... now you are forcing specific powersets into the raid with very limited space.

    Okay, that's it.

Ive been playing since early 08 on my current Vista machine.. and the only time i rubberband is when my broadband goes stupid. Check your netgraph to see the traffic that the game is receiving. Check your cable modem for its signal levels. Check your Task Manager to see if something else is hogging resources.

Lots of potential problems but nothing that we can diagnose without more information.
  11. The workaround is to just delete the description text every time you edit.

It will revert to the default text in the mission when you have 0 characters.

Yes this is a new bug.
  12. Rikti Comm Officer 42-42 has been removed.
Rikti Comm Officer 30-54 has been moved to Minion Class.
Custom Boss melee sets now have a ranged power.

New Bug: When editting an arc, the MA editor is inserting "default" text into the description for hostages causing the arc to show errors (over size limit, only 300 characters permitted/Invalid HTML etc).
Workaround: Just delete the text and re-publish, but everytime you edit the arc, you will have to do this.
Workwround: Use a custom critter as a hostage instead of one of the provided ones (with a small description).

    MA Mondays!

You need to post details in here if you want it run, not just "look for my name".

    MA Mondays!

Im gonna miss tomorrow as well. Between umpiring softball, team pictures for teh girls team im coaching, then a double header of hockey.... yeah not gonna see much online time at all. Save some arcs for next monday.
  15. Well if you are running 54s only, you are looking for a challenge. Wouldnt surprise me if its by design.
  16. Could be enemy type. Vanguard's have debuff resistance which might be getting applied to corresponding heal. Try useing the same mobile for your L50 tests (use CoT for in and out of AE or Vanguard) to eliminate this possibility.
  17. Unlikely. The meta-tags ($name, $level, etc) remain. The creator of the MA mission didnt know about the meta-tag.
(I use the $name in my missions so I know first hand it still works.)

    Hami Suggestions

    1) The idea has merit, but could make Hami REALLY strong if the middle ring move counter to the inner and out rings.

    2) Bring more +Rec and blues.

    3) Hami and mitos should not be confusable.

    4) Given the current strat for defeating Hami, the DE wouldnt really bring much given the position of mito tanks, and summonign DE into the jello wouldnt make much sence.

    5) No. Hami is farmed enough as is. And with the ability to respawn at will, it would just add to this.

    6) No. MM pets can hami tank just fine without EoEs given enough MMs.

    MA Mondays!

It was a blast, we muddled through some problems early but we made it.

I would like to suggest a few "rules" to this event regarding arc selection/posting/leading:

    1) Over all, we limit ourselves to 10-12 missions tops. If that means only 2 5 mission arcs and one 1-2 mission arc, or 4 3 mission arcs, but last night everyone was running out of gas after the first 3 (which were 12 total missions). Gulver's kinda got pushed because of that.

    2) Be very descriptive in the length of your arc.... and that includes time. Squid's arc had major EB/AV fights in the last 3 missions. This made it take longer than usual. If you have a large map kill all, please factor this in as well. 2-3 Hours is what most can commit to for an event.

    3) If you start an arc with 8 people and someone drops, do not fill the spot unless they specifically quit the team. I did some dumpster diving on this problem that we had, and the problem is because of "AE" mode, which is like TF mode lite. It tries to keep players in the team if the logout then back, and if you get more than 8 players on the arc list, strange things can happen (like loading into different instances).

    4) Encourage feedback. If you are on a team running your arc, talk it up. Ask people to read bio's and clues. Sometimes it can get chaotic and we miss some of the text, but thats really what makes a good experience: immersion. And not all of it will be good, but take it and learn from it. And quite possibly, they will be right and you can make the edits so your story becomes better.

    Just my $0.02.

    MA Mondays!

    My reviews

    1) NetMinder arc 74097
My arc.. so im horribly biased, but in the 2 larger teams Ive run through it, its performed rather well. Got a story, custom groups, adaquate challenge but not overwhelming.
    2) Ashcraft arc 101926
My only gripe with this arc was that we jumped all over the level spectrum. I dont mind going down to an arc, but a double drop and then back to 50 seemed to take a little from it. Had to figure out what I had in my arsenal each mission. Stock critters but the story was good. ****
    3) Mr Squid arc 33034
This arc... I guess i dont know where to start. Good story, but was missing some details in sections that left me scratching my head as to what I was doing. On challenge level 2, it was very beatable, but on challenge 5, at level 30.. well mission 4 was just not beatable with 6 players. Thats what you get for max diff I guess. And too many "epic" fights. Missions 3-5 all felt like the last mission. The customs were quite nice. ***

    4) Gulver arc 73197
    ppd to next week because

    5) Neuronia arc 114193
Its humor/homage. Says so in the description..and it lives up to it. Mobs are fluff, but the bios and dialog are worth it. Simple all level fun. ****

Looking forward to next week.... when someone will be on time... *glare*

    MA Mondays!

wierd bug with loading my arc... we ended up quiting and completely starting over because people were loading in different instances..
  22. Find a mod, or a friend with access to ask in channel.
You can PM one of the mods, but in-game works much better.

(Im not a mod of any channel except TankHQ, so I cant help you directly, but you can find me online and I can help find the appropriate mod)
  23. Considering the new defensive code they just put in to stop people from editting values into ranges they are supposed to go, it would be a major pain trial and erroring an offline editor to find the "acceptable" ranges for all the variables.

    MA Mondays!

    This is a great idea.

    Arc Name: Canine War!
    Arc ID: 74097
    Length: 3 Missions
    Morality: Heroic
Enemy Groups: Canidae Lupus (custom), Blood Fur (custom)Canidae Vulpes (custom), Mercenaries (custom), Banished Pantheon, Circle of Thorns
Difficulty: While featuring lots of canines, dont expect too much smash and lethal. Tactics have been upgraded and the wolves get very strong in large packs. Challenge level 1 is a good workout, but damage resiliant heroes and villians can push it quite far. In large groups, higher challenge settings are not recommended as some stacking mez becomes really annoying.
Estimated Time: Anywhere from 15mins to about an hour depending on your abilities.
Description: The wolves have long since held the top spot on the food chain but a recent discovery has planted the seeds of rebellion in thier cousins' mind. Can you help the foxes throw off the oppressive rule or will the wolf always be top dog?

(Author's Note: 99.99% file size. I had to remove about a half dozen customs and some added events to shoe horn all the required elements into the arc. Some of the clues may seem a little light on text, but I had to strip everything down to bare minimums.)
