Unlikely. The meta-tags ($name, $level, etc) remain. The creator of the MA mission didnt know about the meta-tag.
(I use the $name in my missions so I know first hand it still works.)

I think MTS is referring to 'regular' (i.e. existing, dev-written) missions. Plenty of them have captives address you as 'Rescuer'.

They didn't forget your name. Didn't you see that big article on you in the Paragon Times last week? Under that big picture of you pounding on the Nemesis robot the caption says "Unnamed Rescuer saves local business." I guess the hostages thought that was your superhero name.

If they thought that was my name, shouldn't they be addressing me as 'Mr. Rescuer'?

Since when do people call him "Mr. Superman"? People don't add honorifics like "Mister" or "Missus" to a superhero name unless it's already in there. (You wouldn't, after all, refer to "Planet"...leaving off the "Captain" part.)

Yes, I'm talking about dev-created missions, not MA missions 
Before I14 they would actually use your character's name.
Interestingly, the NPC villain chatter still uses your name ("Oh no! It's xxSuperPicklesxx!")
Found this topic via search, because I am having the exact same problem. And yes, I'm talking about this occurring in game content that has been around for years, not in the MA.
For example, I rescued Ellie Weisman tonight in Harvey Maylor's arc, and she said "Listen, Rescuer, I've got to tell you what's going on!" or something along those lines. I've done that arc many times, and she used to know my name. But it's not just that. Hostages EVERYWHERE are calling all my toons "Rescuer" rather than calling them by their names. It's really kind of depressing. I liked having the people I rescued call me by name. Now it's like, "Yeah... it's great that you saved me and all, but I'm not going to go to the trouble of learning your name." It's kind of a drag.
I don't know why there aren't more people noticing this. Is it just that no one plays the old content anymore?

Me: "Uh, glad I could help, Generic Citizen..."
I'm thinking that "Rescuer" used to be a substitution variable and got changed to $name for MA, but the existing missions weren't updated...
