  1. Having the entire raid Mapserve while taking Yellow Mitos down just about hosed us. It was less than pleasent, tho we were all a little relieved it wasnt just "me" having issues.
  2. And to answer your question, Squid, about why we can't get blue side level turnout for hami raids redside...

We were done in under 1hr with the first one.
If we can get it refined to under 2hrs for a red side raid, attendence will spike.
  3. Merit overload!!!!!
    Started with an ITF (28)
    Twin Hami Raids (80)
    Ended with STF (42, 38 + 4(2 fliers))
    ----
    150 merits for one day.
Can we do this next sunday as well?

How about each HO/SHO slotted gives you a 1% resistance to Hamidon's Electrolytic attacks?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nothing ever came of it, but way back in like issue #4 of the comic, there was a cryptic statement from one of the devs (manticore i think), about HOs having some "effect" on players.

Im all for HO's returning to 50/50 status, or even 40/40 would be nice to give players a little incentive to taking them as a reward. Right now the only HO's im using are Centroles (1 in Fire Breath, +Range in cone's is huge) and Membranes (Fortitude.. cant beat 33/33/33 bonus woot). Everything else benefits less than 1% with ED over 26.5/26.5 IO and doesnt confer those higher set bonuses.

So Rikti are now invading us? lol sweet

    [/ QUOTE ]

Add Hero Zone Event Messages to your main chat tab. The game announces all zone events (like Paladin Construction, Skyway Raids, Steel Fires, Rikti/Zombie invasions).

Red side, add Villian Zone Event messages. (You can have both if you want to see both sides at once in case you need something like the Flyer.)
  6. Make sure you have no stealth powers running (like IO Procs etc). If you stealth, and even with -Stealth, if they get too far from you, they lose lock and try to return to thier original locations.
  7. But yeah, I lost track of the remnants of the Heroes after the SG got nuked. I think Alpha is still on my friends list, but I cant remember seeing it active in recent times.
  8. Well you might want to make sure your Emp is spec'ed right. There is no "healing blanket" anymore. +Regen >> Heals against Hami. You slowly gain resist to heals (well past 100% resist), and some -Regen, but against AB, the -regen is in the noise.
  9. As I recall, you sold your old account before you left and told everyone that if they saw you, it wasn't you. =P
  10. The Atlas Heroes were disbanded shortly after you left. Im not sure who grabbed the name, but the current Atlas Heroes have nothing to do with the old ones.

  11. There is a "hidden" team cap of 8 players. Something that is semi exploitable.

And AE team does work like TF-Lite mode where you can add and remove players up to 8. A player that logs but does not quit is not removed from the list and counts against the team size. If the team size grows beyond 8, strange things happen (different instances of the same mission are created, etc..). When a player quits the team, they are removed from the list and no longer count to the max of 8.

  12. Great. Now set your resolution for both to 1600x1050 (one on each of the 22" widescreens) and world and player detail to 200%, max bloom, 4x anti-aliasing.. etc.
*waits for the 7600 to curl into the fetal position*

Yeah you can dual box on lessor machines, but not with the engine running it is full glory on both.

*my backup box is remarkably similar... P4 3Ghz w/HT, 2GB RAM, 7900 GT.. And I did dual box on that, but I had to run at a lot lower detail levels and the second window was not maximized (had 1 19" and 1 22"ws at the time).
  13. Be sure your machine can handle it. CoX has some steep memory requirements as well as graphical requirements.

I wouldnt dual box on less than Core Duo, 3Gb Ram, and 86xx or higher video card. Broadband is not really optional either. Especially if you are going to be arena'ing yourself.

You can still single box on Hyperthread CPUs with 68xx or higher cards with decent performace, and those are cheap now a days... so depending on the state of your machine, it might be cheaper to grab a second machine instead of upgrading to handle dual boxing.
  14. Thats the problem with really young ones... there aren't a whole lot of family trips you can take because of the obvious concerns and needs of small children.

A place I can recommend for all would be the WaterPark of America (located near the Mall of America). Its an indoor waterpark thats pretty impressive and fun for all, and the hotel is pretty solid as well. The Mall of America is right there for shopping and entertainment as well. And depending on your sport preference, you've got NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB teams in the Minn/StPaul area. Pretty cheap too since it isnt a high traffic tourist spot.

Disney World (never been to Disney Land) is something that is right on the edge for 4 (when we took my son the first time), and 6 is really the prime age because by then the height requirement is usually satisfied for all the rides.

The Wisconsin Dells has a suite of waterparks and hotels, but the entertainment outside the Dells is limited.

And of cource GenCon. This is a slightly older setting for kids, but there are lots of kid-friendly activities and the array of costumes keeps kids wide eyed at all times. Being a gaming con you have to keep an eye on them a little closer but its still worth it.

    /em throwmoney

    /em targetpractice
    (ranged ATs only)

Player tosses a small target in the air and uses thier ranged weapon (AR Bots etc) or T1 blast to shoot it.

    /em spar
    (melee ATs)

A small akido dummy appears and the player spars with it.

    /em fishstory

Player starts motioning like he/she/it is explaining something then holds arms at maximum width to show how big the fish was that got away.

    /em revv

The user goes into a faux squat position (like riding a motorcycle) twists the right wrist (throttle). Optional motorcycle engine revving sound.

    /em badger

The player pulls out a small glass case with all thier shiny badges in it showing it off to everyone, then accidently drops it, causing it to shatter. The player drops to thier knees sobbing.

    /em calledshot

The player points to left field (20 deg left of current facing), pulls out an invisble (or visable) bat and swings away. Player then enters the cheer emote animation.

    4 Star Blues

Alot of this floats around easy 5 star ratings.

I've given 4 5star ratings out the 100's of arcs ive rated the first time. I have upgraded 6 4stars to 5 after dialog with the author about my critques and thier re-submittal.
    (Only given 2 1star ratings.)

A 5 star arc needs to be 5 star worthy. Tight plot. No typos or grammatical errors. Good descriptions on customs (if used). Variety. Good humor if leaning that way or solidly challenging if leaning on the serious side.

I've doled out alot of 4 stars to really good stories that had some minor but noticably flaws. And if those get fixes (and Im not talking plot changes, but small things like typos, etc..) upgrade.

Any player rated system like this is doomed to fail because of the different standards the judges have. The auto-5's vs those that actually take notes and write nice long messages afterwards.

    Not even sure ?

Looks like a classic overheating issue. Some thermal data would be useful.
  19. I think the biggest thing youll find is the number of different ways to "tank".

You've got the brick ****house of Stone Armor.
Can't touch this from Ice Armor.
    Tanktrolling with Dark Armor.
"Soak damage? I deal damage!" Fire Armor tanks.
Bend but dont break from Willpower.
"I thought this was WoW" Shield tanks.

    and then Invuln... yeah.

Anyways, there are many ways to tank. Fire Armor is probably the best early on with its extra damage and great self heal, but late game it wanes with lower resists and lack of KB and slow protection.
Stone Armor post L33 (need to slot Granite) is the mid game bridge tanker.
Ice Armor is the epitome of suck suck suck awesome, becoming a beast late in the game but iffy through the first 40 levels.

And I havent even touched on secondary synergies.

    Welcome aboard.
  20. I think the first step is getting a set of raid leaders together, much like blueside. Overall leader, yellow taunt, MM Hami Taunt, Yellow attack, and ranged. Get them on board with a time/date. Let them recruit on the side to spread the word.

Second step is getting back to the EoE farming. That helped get the word out.... and I need maor. That last raid cut my reserves by 75%.

Lastly, let it be known what we need so people can plan accordingly. IMHO the team structure should be as follows:

    Hami Taunt:
    6 MMs (no /Pain) 2 Kin

    Yellow Taunt
    6 Brutes (w/ taunt) 2 Pain

Yellow assault (2 teams of 6):
    5 Brute/Stalker + 1 Support (Kin/Pain/Thermal)

    Ranged/Mez (2 teams of 8):
    Mixed Corr/Dom/SoA/Fort + a bubbler

44 slots with 6 left overs for adhoc support. Everyone has a place, and a place for everyone. But just like blueside, there are specific needs that really need to be filled. Imagine a blueside with no Emps or controllers. Not pretty. You might not get those precious merits on the toon you want, but swapping to a niche filling spot can make a huge difference.

We've pulled off 3 redside raids successfully, and Im sure we can do it more often, if we can drum up enough support.

Move all the AE buildings to Boomtown......

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was thinking one on the far side of Grendal's Gulch.

    One in the Shadow Shard.

And how about peering through the cover of trees in Eden.

And just for the low levels, a secret door in the sewers.
  22. Unkillable? Not even close.
    Annoying? Hibernoob is always annoying.

    Weaknesses:
    No slow resist.
No mitigating resists to high burst sets (Energy and Fire).
No -Fly powers. Other HoverBlasters will can take great advanage of that.
No mitigating toggle mez (Choking Cloud, Oppressive Gloom).
No -KB. Prepare to be juggled.

It will do decently in PvP, but its far from unkillable.

Yeah, the range or the recharge, but not both.
As it stood, it was down right savage, and with the non-domination damage boost , it did need a little scaling back on that front.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Mentioned back on page 1.

Still, the PSW is a little extreme on its whacking. The lower powers took a recharge hit, but damage goes way up. This has the effect of lowering the recharging of Domination because of the slower attack speed. Psi was brutal, and this does pull it down, which to those that squeezed it for all it had, it will hurt them alot. Enough to leave the game.... thats a little over the top, but a respec is certainly in order.

Psychic Shockwave: Decreased this powerÂ’s damage scale from 1.96 to 1.21, increased its recharge from 10 seconds to 20 seconds, increased its endurance cost from 10.2 to 18.51 and decreased its radius from 25 feet to 15 feet.

Psi Shockwave got beat like rented mule. All the other powers got a boost, and this one payed for all it dearly.
