At least in Avengers the costume is improved so that his neck isn't exposed. One bullet or shrapnel junk into his unprotected neck/throat and he'd be a goner.

Quote:While the build is a Triplechanger, the squid mode only has two IO's in its form power (rectified recticle I believe was the name of the set) since two slotting that adds S/L, it's beam powers have no extra slots and contain procs either of the hold or damage variety. Likely I would use this mode during the AV fights of an itrial and just sit back and blast from high in the sky, or remain in human form in use the beam attack the human form has and retain my defense.Hmm... Based on what you are saying, it seems you are planning on stopping to toggle on pool shields when you drop to human form? It seems that will be more of a hindrance than anything else. Your human form will be more survivable than dwarf, so I'm wondering what purpose it's serving for you? You could replace the power choice with Provoke from Leadership... You wouldn't lose anything, it would just save you time retoggling and give you more consistent survivability.
edit: The other thing to consider is that you'll save slots by dropping dwarf, and if you drop Nova also you'll get even more slots... Human Form will out damage Nova on Single Targets. I'm not 100% sure on the difference between aoe damage for human vs. nova but for the survivability you've built for it seems like it would still ultimately be more beneficial to retain your high survivability through toggles and devote extra slots to beefing out your human attacks.
Dwarf mode is basically a mule for io sets like kinetic combat, obliteration and mocking beratement for the set bonuses. Two beam attacks in human mode, plus it's melee powers, then of course maneuvers, weave, stealth, combat flight for defense. I don't expect to use dwarf mode much thanks to permalightform but it's there for me if I need it.
However has hasten and lightform can't be activated unless in human form, the idea of shifting back and forth loses some appeal despite them having made transformation uninterruptible, for which I do thank them as I lost track of all the times I was nailed during transformation.
Of course, it is a prototype build and may not be the final product. But it is easier to obtain perma-lightform and perma hasten with the T4 Spiritual Alpha so that is a keeper. -
Quote:The Triform/Triplechanger prototype build I'm designing for ish 21 has 84% recharge from IO sets (including hecatomb<$$$$> and absolute amazement<$$>), 2 slotted hasten and the Tier 4 Spiritual Core paragon for alpha. It has perm hasten and perm lightform and is 48% S/L defense and 42% melee in human form, along with all the resistances of permalightform. In Nova or Dwarf mode, it will drop to 34% S/L and 25% melee but purples can compensate for that. With what kind of slotting in Light Form? Right now I have 4 pieces of Reactive Armor in there (to get an extra bit of S/L defense); that includes the three pieces with +Recharge in them for a total of (if I have the numbers right): +24.1 + 24.1 + 19.3 = 67.5%.
Currently, I'm sitting at about 145% global recharge (when Hasten is up), but will soon have another LotG, so I'll be at 152.75%
Should all that be enough? Or do I need to change the slotting in Light Form?
Working on modifying it for perm lightform without needing hasten but I'll lose some defense and I'm not sure if I want to do that. -
Quote:Your description sounds like a modernized Greatest American Hero costume.A package arrives at your house with no return address, delivered while you are not home.
It contains a bright and colorful skintight suit made of a spandex-like material, along with a high tech bracelet/watch/smartphone kind of thing and a helmet. The suit is designed to cover every inch of the wearer's body.
Activating the bracelet causes it to announce that it has calibrated to your specifications and will now only work for you. A menu that you can access via it lists super powers the rig is supposed to allow you to use while it is worn.
- The suit is supposedly armored: it should allow you to stand up to bullets, hot flames, and the like without harm but with possibly considerable discomfort.
- The rig is an exoskeleton and should multiply your physical strength by up to a factor of 100, based on voice commands.
- The bracelet can fire a laser/taser that via voice command can have an effect ranging from a mild shock or cigarette lighter up to that of a 50 caliber bullet.
- Besides acting as a smartphone, the bracelet is a police/radar/military scanner and can easily spoof phone/internet accounts.
- The helmet is fully integrated with the bracelet, with an HUD, and along with the suit functions as CBR gear (thus helping keep you from leaving forensic evidence at a scene). It can function as a rebreather for 12 hours or so.
What would you do at this point?
1: Call the authorities and let them have the suit?
2: Repackage it and leave it on someone else's doorstep?
3: Start trying to test/reverse engineer the suit?
4: Ebay baby!
5: Start working out/taking kung fu classes so you'll look better while leaping from rooftop to rooftop wearing it?
6: Something else?
If your answer is 5, please consider the following...
Crime or anti-crime? Both?
Who would you tell about the suit?
Is there someone you know that really deserves a good punch in the jaw from an anonymous superbeing?
But for me it would be definitely #3 at first, as there is no point in trying to use the suit without some serious studying and reviewing what the bracelet lists that the suit can do and also in case I need to perform repairs.
Once that is done, then I would seriously ponder the wisdom of suiting up and probably also check the internet and news for sightings of anyone else wearing a similar suit of "magic jammies" as Bill Maxwell would say.
After that I would suit up and try to keep a low profile at first, thwarting small stuff until I was more fluent with what the suit and I could do and then start making my presence a bit more known to the criminals as I start thwarting their schemes.
As much as I don't like terminating my foes, certain ones like say those that deal out drugs to kids, Child Pornographers, those that traffic in illegal aliens being brought here for rather scummy reasons.....well I can't find it in myself to show them much mercy.
As for any funds I find, like say if I knock over a drug house, about 30% to my operating expenses, including pain killer if the suit's protection is limited, and the rest to charities.
I'd also be tempted to track down certain controversial people that had their trial and got acquitted, but the trial's accuracy may be considered as "dubious"......and then I would have words with them.
I wouldn't tell anyone as a secret shared is no longer a secret and complications may arise. -
Quote:Actually he lost the book while walking down the road at night after being given the suit and they could never find it. When the aliens tossed him a new copy, it was in alien language and he needed to wear the suit so it would flip to english. He than managed to shrink himself and the book down to insect size, set the book aside and he rturned to his normal size but the book didn't. "I left it on that boulder right.......there" as he realizes the perspective difference and points and some pebbles on the ground.
I would fight crime with it, especially when it tells you everything it can do. I grew up with Greatest American Hero, a guy that had a super suit fall into his lap, only he didn't know all of it's capabilities (darn instruction book wasn't written in a known language), and I always wanted to put on a suit and fly because of it. You can't fly in this scenario, but being able to do everything else would be pretty cool. Hopefully you can take it off when not in action, or else you'll end up being like The Tick. -
Hm a Mumm-ra/Mon-star team up against the Silverhawks and Thundercats?
-
Do you think allowing all pool powers to function while transformed would be a good thing or would PB/WS become overamped?
-
Quote:Being brothers they are immune to each other's power, and I think it was shown (rarely) that when they work together their combined energies are greater then the sum of the parts.Alex is immune to Scott's powers which are solar energy based or "fusion based" which i think gives off more energy than fission, but not positive so maybe...also it might be that both Scott and Alex would be immune to Superman's Heat vision as it is solar powered.
Banshee (Sean Cassidy) and his brother Black Tom Cassidy also are immune to each others powers. -
Quote:Well that story was back in the early days long before his healing power reached Galactus levels
Seriously though I enjoyed that mini and still do, but wasn't Wolverine poisoned or drugged up in that first fight where he got beaten by the wooden sword? Can't recall and the issues are boxed up in storage. -
Per Incredbile Hulks 635: all the current Hulks can take nukes.
-
How about instead we pool our resources and take control of the Sy Fy channel instead?
Step One after taking it over: THE NAME CHANGES BACK TO SCI-FI
Step Two: wrestling is removed
Step Three: restore Sci-fi programming both classic and new -
Quote:Now if only Granite armor could be altered so that instead of a Dev Earth/Golem, our character's skin turns stone-grey in color, possibly their costume also, so that we basically look like the assorted statues we see in zones like Atlas. Thus we keep our cool costumes and auras in granite.....Server mergers is not a fair comparison.
Beyond that the point is, it did not come from nowhere is was one of the longtime requests of many Kheld players in the Kheld forum and was missed do to the nature of the costume change coding the last go around on Kheld changes made about two years ago.
Most people giving direct player feedback to the devs back then were not liking the bubble, not seeing their costume and most importantly not having the power for all forms like eclipse for Warshades. -
Say what? Currently in Beta lightform does accept recharge bonuses. etc. If they decide to make it's recharge time like WP where you can't boost it, then it is epic fail.
-
Can't comment yet as I'm still tinkering with some prototypes in my Mids as I'm going for perm hasten/perm light form, and nice defense while in human form. Transforming will drop defense a bit but that's ok.
My three PB's are currently hammering out trials for Astrals, plus reaffirming hero status for align merits so they can obtain certain IO's. -
Quote:AgreedMy final assessment: the world presented in Flashpoint and most of the related tie-ins actually made for a decent and interesting Elseworlds story. But it's not the equivalent of Crisis on Infinite Earths, nor should it be, but that's precisely what DC Editorial has been desperately trying to shoehorn it into being.
Standing on its own, it's fine. As the reason for the universe-wide relaunch, not so much.
.
Quote:Also, events in the tie-ins mostly had little to no impact on the resolution of the story.
I flipped thru a few crossover issues of Marvel's FEAR event and they had minimal impact on anything, so I'm staying with the main issues except for the impending Hulk vs Dracula issues, mainly because I want to see the vamps attempt the futile effort of stopping the Hulk. It should be.....amusing. -
Quote:The new prototype builds im designing for my PB's for ish 21 will still have dwarf mode, if nothing else for certain mule purposes of slotting. Thanks for all the replies so far
The MFing warshade guide was certainly something, i really like "you are all forms at all times" section. Thats exactly what i need to start doing! spending so long as human form only I certainly view them as forms and not just other powers i can use...
Im still not sold 100% tbh ... I do think human only is a little more interesting that tri , but things may change with some more time on him.
I still would appreciate some build critique from the community tbh, thats to Dechs i think i am mentally now a tri shade but im still not sure if my build is tri shade worthy
Ty again
But I still also build my Khelds with a certain philosophy of mine in mind: While being a human form action master is nice.....in the end it's always best to be a transformer. -
Quite true, also after having rewatched Batman/Superman Public Enemies, I wonder if Captain Marvel could take a nuke, since Batman blasted him with a missile and he was on the ground but back in the form of Billy Batson who was wounded. (still funny though when Batman tries to wake him and says "Say something!" "SHAZAM!")

Watch carefully....they may cast Shia as his son.....

Quote:Agreed. I just do not see how this could so shatter the time lines and change everything to the point of justifying another DC universe-reboot.Considering that Barry would be restoring the original timeline where his mother lived, and considering that the original change that Zoom made seemed to have no effect on anyone other then Barry, It is pretty hard to see any of this as some sort of law of unintended consequences resulting from changing history.

Quote:Hm, that was Monica Rambeau and while she could turn into any energy form, I wonder if the EMP wouldn't be a problem and disrupt her energy field? Otherwise yeah she could survive it.I'd say the Captain Marvel who could turn into any EM spectrum energy would ignore a nuke.
.
Drax the Destroyer, original version and "hulk" version from 90's could. His original version couldn't die as long as his soul/mind was bonded to his body. It was Moondragon's mind attacks that finally ended his first incarnation. -

Gladiator aka Shiar's version of Superman, has his powers tied to his sense of belief. As long as doubt doesn't creep into his thoughts or some form of psionic disrption occur then his power level is near Superman levels. Apparently he also has a cousin and she showed up in the recent Nova series battling Nova's recently empowered brother who outsmarted her and disrupted her powers. It was also mentioned that they are apparently the last two survivors of their race.....nah doesn't sound familiar at all....

Quote:Been trying the decoy duty, but unfortunately sometimes the decoys still get nailed. Practice makes perfect I guess....Actually I might have an alternative to benching players in the hospital: Decoy Duty.
You might ask "What is Decoy Duty?" Well I haven't fully tested this out, but Decoy Duty is to be out of the hospital, away from everyone else (no being above another player) and away from the truck depot (out of line of sight is best). Have one of the "decoys" do a 5 minute warning of the Obliteration Beam so everyone can look at the ground and be prepared to move. If they are targeted, they'll need to move out of the way.
Having another decoy or hospital sitter call out health warnings at 85-55-25 health.
I still don't like this idea as it places the "decoys" firmly in the role of a sidekick. However it is an alternative to sitting on the bench, so to speak.
Oh, the Line of Sight thing. Apparently the only people targeted by Disintegration are those in Line of Sight of Anti-Matter. So if you aren't visible to him, you won't get disintegrated. -
With all the changes that are coming,. I'd expect a freespec at launch followed by ANOTHER Free respec a week or two afterwards. This has been done before and ish 21 and all it's changes may well need to offer us 2 freespecs.

Quote:I lost track of how many times Janeway gave up and activated auto destruct only to have someone come up with a last minute solution and then she has to abort the countdown.Voyager was only epic phail due to them having the worst captain ever. She always constantly put the lives of her in danger just to take a pit stop to explore when they should have kept going towards home. So many lives were needlessly lost due to her stupidity. Even 7 of 9 commented on this.
