Apparantely the OP thinks so, otherwise a thread like this wouldn't have even been considered.
Quote:Re the first sentence: your attitude stinks.
It could have been avoided aswell. I'm just saying. No point in complaining about my 'attitude'. -

Your friend won't get the money back. Even if it was a clear accident, the person who got 1.8 billion is entitled to it through and through.
Also, if your friend wanted to be safe with that kind of amount of money, why didn't he just play it safe and buy the Recharge IO Recipes from the University, and craft them personally? It's not like he'd be out of pocket if he did it at the time, he had 1.8 BILLION.
EDIT: I begin to doubt whether this even happened or not, and someone is trying to scam some money. How the hell could something 'accidentally' buy some IOs of that standard for such a number? -
Permadom I'm pretty sure is available in every powerset combo possible in the archetype. I want to ask this though: What about Double Domi? Is that capable of being made permanent? And if so, is the Double Domi stacked naturally? Also, can every powerset pull it off? I ask this because a fellow player I know plays an Ice/Psi Dominator, that on occasion is capable of 'Double Domination'.

It has to be Thorns for me. -Defence, and a mixture of Lethal, Toxic and (I think) Smashing damage. I haven't even started on Procs for my Plant/Thorns Domi and already I have like three damage types minimum.

Hi there, last night I made my first Electric Control dominator, and I decided to choose Psionic Assault as my secondary. Whilst I have a fairly decent grasp of how Dominators should work, I have very little experience with either powerset - I've had some pretty dull experience with Psionic-based toons that haven't worked in the end, but I felt that I could make it work with Elec Control, especially with Drain Psyche + Conductive Aura.
I imagine I'll be okay in the long run. I just made this thread to ask about if anyone with either experience of such powersets would be able to give me recommendations for my build, aswell as advice on what to choose or not choose movewise and maybe how to slot it in order to create a solid toon. Thanks in advance. -
When you wish you had slotted for Mez resistance so you could get out of bed in time for college in the morning.

Rolled an archery/EM hero a while back and whilst it was initially quite difficult to adapt to the long activation time of RoA (especially in teams) I came to the conclusion that Archery is a pretty decent primary set. It's an accurate, powerful and end light set if you slot right (mind you, most powersets can be) and if you can get used to having to act quick in teams to set off RoA then you've got yourself a fun character.

Quote:Exactly. It's not a build-up, and that + Targetting Drone doesn't even come close to a Build Up.This has to the be most repeated piece of theorycraft crap in the history of CoH. Gun Drone is not build-up. Trip mine is not build-up. Time bomb is not build-up. Dude, even if I'm under assault by mobs, I can press buildup and get a 100% dmg bonus for 10 secs. That's huge for an AT that supposedly relies on hitting first and hitting hard. I can't say the same of a 39% dmg bonus that forces me to sit on my *** for 6 seconds, and if anyone even sneezes at me it gets interrupted and I'd be forced to start all over again.
Next thing we know there'll be people defending Time Bomb and its 27 second activation time...
There's another problem with Gun Drone: it completely negates Devices, including the Cloaking Device. The way I play my blaster is that I use smoke grenade on a mob before planting Trip Mine and/or Time Bomb, before finishing them all off with my Tier 9 Pistols attack. Now, if I'm having a drone run around attacking whatever it likes it'll open up all sorts of possibilities for the enemy, be it planting DoT around me, spotting me completely, or a Boss buffing up. I don't want that with a drone, I prefer the more calculated playstyle.
Now, I shouldn't have to select the Invisibility Pool Power just to stay hidden if I want to use Devices properly, so a more logical option would be to continue planting mines and ripping the enemy apart and then deploying my drone. This however is not possible because like mentioned before the Interrupt time makes this impossible to pull off mid-fight. Remove this feature and just make the pet like the rest of the pets available. -
Have not read through every single comment in this thread but I would like to give my views on a possible change to the Force Field secondary. I regularly play a Bots/FF Mastermind and a long time ago I noticed how using Equip and Upgrade Robot on one targetted robot results in all of the robots receiving the buffs.
Sadly for Force Field powers like Deflection Shield and Insulation Shield this is not the case. When you use the two bubbles on one pet it respectively only applies to one pet. But that comes at a terrible cost during more challenging tasks such as Incarnate Trials, where it is vital to be able to keep up with the league.
What it basically boils down to is this; you upgrade your pets with the primary buffs, and then spend a rather long time individually buffing all of your six pets, and perhaps your Lore pet too. 7 pets, 14 clicks for bubbles, a very long time to actually set up, a burden to your team if they need to move quickly.
I suggest that for all types of secondary buffs (but more importantly the bubbles I speak of) should be changed so that one click for each bubble, bubbles all pets that you summon, given that they are all in range. Does anyone else agree? It would make the powerset more efficient in my opinion. -
For a while now I've been rolling a Dual Pistols blaster with Devices as its Secondary. Now obviously when I get given the choice for a new power that from past experiences did not live up to my expectations I tend to just skip the power, as you would do.
I hit level 38 with my blaster and at the moment it's the furthest I've ever managed to progress with Devices. So naturally, I chose Gun Drone at the first opportunity thinking it would be amazing and thus be of a great asset to my build. To my sheer disappointment I find that it is incredibly weak for a Tier 9 pet. Not only that, but after a bit of research on Intensive Pets I find that it is the ONLY pet in the entire game that comes with an Interruption time. Not only that, but 6 seconds to summon a rather rubbish gun drone that does not do very much damage and only lives for 1 minute and 30 seconds has made me want to respec out of it.
This respec will come in due time, but I have to ask why Gun Drone has not had its Interrupt time removed yet and possibly given a small damage or duration increase? It's the only pet of its kind and it would seem only fair to balance the pet out with every other one in this game. Thoughts, anyone? -
In your case, I don't imagine it'd be the best idea in the world to take on an entire room at once, and I guess I haven't read all the posts in this thread to prove that you're doing such a thing. My point is, a team should focus on one specific group at a time.
Then you are blaming MM's for the stupid amounts of knockback they have, which implies that your build or style of play will rely on team-mitigation, because you can't maintain a group for yourself due to MM knockback? Either you're playing with very bad team-mates, or you don't understand how a brute and an mm work together.
However, my post isn't based too well on knowledge, just assumptions, so I'll probably edit this when I read more. -
I viewed your build. I'm liking the look of it I must say, but I dont get why you go for Blood Mandate on your pets rather than Sovereign Right? The sets to me are much more beneficial.
Also I hope you actually have enough for this build. :P
My main MM is robots/FF. I know the downsides to it, such as theres no decent amount of damage against stronger regenning opponents, but the defense make it a lot more challenging for the enemy player. I've had several PvPers give up on me because my defenses are too high.
I guess your build works in an assault sense, rather than defense 'come and get me', if you see where I'm coming from. I should upload my build sometime...I had it on Mids until the i13 update frikkin deleted it. -
I'm currently running a mercs/PD mm, and I immediately realised that the mercenaries are just pathetically weak. Even increased damage would be nice.
Infact, the pets are so weak that I'm 50-50 focusing on a build on Mids on Damage and Defense Debuff, to see if I can get a decent output. Even if a proc would be better, its just too damn expensive. I don't want to spend so much money on a build to make it 'decent'. -
I'm getting a problem now where my copy of CoX might be unplayable on my PC. And it works fine on my laptop.
I'm assuming it came shortly after i13;
FATAL ERROR
File: bin/clientmessages-en.bin
Last Author/Status: Source control not available
Could not load bin/clientmessages-en.bin
Really worried me when it came up. never seen anything like it. Any advise? =/ -
I was thinking if no Share Pain, then Hasten. Unless its enhanced a lot I can imagine Soothe not being enough.
Tbh man, there isnt really anything in that build that strikes me as amazing. =/ Maybe just focusing on enough of the damage and accuracy and heals. Anyhting else I cant really think off 'cos, no offense to you, it seems like a rather bland build. -
Being a Mastermind lover, I have come to familiarise myself with all sorts of macro's, petcoms and binds for my own pets.
So I'm kind of curious. Are there any binds I could be making or copying for automatically targetting my allies in teams, specifically by what team member they are...? I was assuming there would be something along the lines of "autotarget team_member 1-8" or something like that. -
As far as I know, the answer to Hurdle being slotted for Set Jumping IO's is simply, 'no'. Same goes for Swift if I wanted Flight Speed or Run Speed, I wouldn't be able to get Set ones. I'm pretty sure it is because in some of these sets there is like a +Stealth invloved, especially in 'Freebird'. You couldn't put that into an auto because, like someone said, hostage situations would be disastrous, and you couldn't take the stealth off unless you got rid of the IO. So if in a Set you couldn't have a particular IO, then it would be particularly awkward to have any of the others, it would deny people of their wanted Set Bonuses if you say, needed this Stealth IO. So, thats why it isn't allowed.
Because SJ and Fly are toggles, you can have it on them. Obviously, thats what it was made for. The lucky thing is, and I know this after about a month or two's study of the Invention system, that these Stealth grants would cost no Endurance at all. Just that they probably wouldnt be as effective as a normal Stealth, not so sure.. -
The way I get round it is by NOT upgrading my Protector Bots, merely just equip them. That way they have no drones to get stuck on.
Wish it would get fixed though. -
That, is awesome.
And it seems worth buying too. Oh how I love some of the little surprises this game gives me. ^_^ -
I wasn't quite sure where to put this considering the so many Knockdown powers around, over some of the AT's.
My question is why aren't there any Enhancements and Set IO's for Knockdown...? Is it something that has already been thought about and considered not to have any...? -
[ QUOTE ]
For your Force Field power the critical threshold is 60% (as defence buff's a Schedule B power - see the table on the linked page for details) - as a general rule it's OK to slot up to, and slightly over (as the odds are the last enhancement you add while under the threshold will take you over it), but once there you might as well stop trying to go any higher. Basically if you're using Mid's it's OK to slot until you get that high rate warning.

So, what you're saying is, what I'm doing is ok, but I should probably stop where I am? Just trying to give my MM the best amount of defense possible.
