Quote:Fantastic idea! Go repost it in the Suggestions area.I did the hollows with a character a month or so ago and it was fun.
It occurred to me that the devs should have a zone of the week, like tf of the week.
The zone content that week would have double xp, double drops, or something.
You could do hollows, striga, faultline, the PvP zones and others. Rotate them around so they would be busy for one week every few months -
Well, I have a feeling they went with /energy because it seems one of the more scrapper-y manipulation sets (kinda like how /elec USED to be - now with other sets available, not so much). I'm sure if they ever created an MA/StJ manipulation set, he'd get "fixed" right quick.

The only time I really get bent about people using /hide is when people are trying to build a team and they're all over the channels advertising for more people for their team, yet they're still in total /hide mode.
I can't tell you how many times I see someone trying to get more people on their team and I try to search their char, trying to get a little info on the char, like are they a tank, are they a healer, or what, and they're hidden from searches. Then I just forget them and move on. No, I'm not teaming with someone who hides from searches then uses search to find more players. Not wasting my time with that, sorry. -
I don't consider myself extremely thin-skinned at all, but I will ignore people at the drop of a hat. Despite there being mostly easy-going people on this MMO (compared to SOME), there are far too many rude, hard-to-deal-with people out there and life is too short to have to continue to deal with someone who has a stick up their butt about you or something you've done. By the time they rotate off my ignore list, I've forgotten about them, but I wouldn't hesitate to put them back on if they continue to be a twit to me.

Quote:If it was up to me, you'd already be working for Paragon Studios.Have played the arc now a couple times (both hero and villain side). As with all things, my first thought was "How would I re-do the cutscene?" (Especially to help the story make more sense...)
My hero version is this, with a couple slight changes to mission 3. (Villain version still needs work...)
...
It's longer, I admit... but I think it'd tie up a lot of loose ends, and give it a bit more resonance.

Quote:Yeah, I agree with you. I got the CoH CE and got the prestige sprints and the Cape of the Four Winds, but I'd easily give up that exclusivity to get the Arachnos cape from the CoV CE. I have a villain that would LOVE to get that.Lisa comes into thread with a serious look on her face....While I do not have the Power Slide and the Four Winds cape, my better half does. He does not use the slide at all, and only one of his many toons has the Four Winds cape.
He never reads the forums, so I asked him his feelings about the Devs putting the exclusive goodies up for sale in the Paragon Market. He said he would have no problems with it.
And if I had bought the collectors edition when he bought his, I know I would not have a problem seeing these up for sale in the market.
That said...impish grin...I want that Arachnos Cape ! I would seriously pay twenty bucks for that cape.

Quote:Yep, this happened to me when I leveled to 30 and I was wondering what the heck happened. A quick question to the Help channel verified that this is exactly what happened.Yeah, if you level from 29-30 or 39-40, you're on a different set of tips and I think any old ones from last level automatically disappear.
I haven't had tips disappear just from hitting co-op zones, or even from switching sides and back. But leveling to 30 or 40 will do it. -
Way back in the day on my first 50 (an MA/Regen scrapper) I tried going up against Infernal as an EB and got pasted like three times in a row before taking him down.
Now I just tried Infernal as an EB on my StJ/WP brute and he was a piece o' cake. Only used 2 large purple insps too. Not only that, but I took the time to beat his summoning portal down while he was beating on me before finally turning around and taking care of him.
Have Maria Jenkins' Praetorians been nerfed when they updated the missions? -

Quote:And I can get 6 T4 incarnate powers in 5 days doing incarnate trials. :S
5 days for hardcores vs. 3 weeks for normal people? I can live with that. -
Quote:I can agree with this, somewhat. Not having more than one or two male characters, I can't really speak to that. Like most people here, I set my sliders to what looks best to me. Everything that AmazingMOO said about the female form in art may be true, but it's not true in THIS game. My standard slider set up is shoulders up a little from halfway, maybe 60% to the right. Any less than this looks incredibly lame for a superhero character. Physique is a little more than that, maybe 70%. My height slider as a default is set to what the CC says is about 6'6", but it doesn't really appear to be that tall in the game world. Waist is pushed up a little about the same as the shoulder slider. But minimum hip slider, always. Any more results in the worst case of thunder thighs I've ever seen. But because this game doesn't actually adjust the hips, but just the thighs, apparently, this does NOT make my characters look like a man. Leg slider usually to max helps stretch out the huge thigh look the devs seem to like so much. And of course, I'm with the rest of the women with finally deciding that less is more with the chest slider, I usually set it now to maybe 15%.I do that [max shoulders, min waist and hips] will all my toons, male or female. Well, recently I have been leaving the male waist slider alone, so thats not quite true.
I reduce the bust-slider to half-strength or less.... I used to leave it alone, but then I decided smaller was more elegant.
What I'm saying is what looks good to me, is shoulders wider than halfway and hips minimum. Not because what AmazingMOO says isn't true, but because the game sliders don't really do what he thinks they do. -

Quote:This^I'd keep Bone Smasher. It's fast, has a decent chance to stun and does a quite a bit of damage so it's useful if something slips past into melee with you.
I have several Grav/Energy doms (I just love the combo) and the melee powers do come in handy if something gets in close. Although with Power Push, they don't stay close for long.I usually keep the melee powers just to give me options, but of course, YMMV, especially if you want different options.

Quote:Under the NCSoft folder on your computer should be two folders, one is City of Heroes, the other is Launcher. The file launcher.exe is in the Launcher folder. The file cityofheroes.exe is in the City of Heroes folder.Hi I wanted to try the /demorecord but I can't figure out how to play it back.
All the examples I have found are telling me to look for
cityofheroes.exe to make a shortcut but all I can find on my system is
the launcher.exe
Am I looking in the wrong place, or do I use the launcher.exe to make a shortcut?
Thanks for any help -
Ok, now that I can get the Valentine Tip drops, I have another question. Some of these tip missions say to go see an NPC in the Rogue Islands or Praetoria. Since I'm a Hero, how can I get to the Rogue Islands? Are these tips only for Villains? Then why did I get that one? And how do I go to Praetoria?

I never checked DA, but I'm guessing if they exceeded the zone ceiling before, then they still do. There were also a few buildings in Steel Canyon that exceeded the ceiling as I recall. Haven't checked Atlas since the revamp there either. I should check it out with a flying character.

Quote:Ok, TJ, I get you totally. I had to do this exact thing on several of my characters. Thanks for the explanation. It is much like when they added the requirement to the SSA Rewards that you had to have re-affirmed your alignment before being able to select the Alignment Merit. Even characters that had never changed alignment had to run an alignment mission first. I've been told by some that they had run several Alignment missions shortly before that change was introduded and that they had to run another after the change in order to get the Alignment Merit as a reward option.
Same basic principle. -
Quote:Throwing in my verification of this, I have a few characters (all Heroes) who have these two versions of Sands of Mu (the vet power and the temp power). They are all near the same level range and I recall getting the temp power from a mission. This info is entirely correct. One, these are not temp powers - that's why they show up under "inherent" (to clear up some terminology).
Two - each power granted this way is a variation on an actual temp power. Is the two sands of Mu character a hero? There is a mission hero-side that has the actual temp power "Sands of Mu"
Right click ->Info on the "Sands of Mu" under temp powers in the power window and see if it lists a duration - if so, you just happen to have both the vet power and the temp power. -
I have heard rumors of a new type of Tip mission rolled out this year, the Valentine Tip mission. This Tip mission is supposed to drop only for characters who complete the special contact's (Ganymede for Heroes, Scratch for Villains) mission arc. I completed these missions (both sides) in prior years, including the Snaptooth missions and have the Beautiful (Handsome for Males) and the Toothbreaker badges to prove it. So far I haven't gotten any of these new Valentine Tips yet (and so far, Paragon Wiki has not been updated with this Tip info yet either).
My questions are: Do these Tip missions exist, and what are the pre-reqs necessary to enable them? Can I get them having done the special contact missions in prior years, or do I have to do them again this year to enable these Tip mission drops? -
Quote:I'm in your boat. I have one incarnate char with a tier 1 Alpha and all common crafted IO's but no sets. And this is my most developed char, a DB/WP scrapper. I don't have your resources, but she does have about 375 million inf, so I'm probably ready to start designing her build while I work on making her some more inf. I'll be all ears to this thread as well, because I am sure I'll learn a lot more about IO sets along with Sam.Sam I got to thank you for making this thread. I am in the same boat. In fact I just wrote an email to a good friend in order to get them to try to help me with a build for my main. I have a full on HO build for him that I just cannot bring myself to delete so I started a second build to work on IO's.
The numbers just get meshed together for me and I just couldn't get my head around it whatsoever. I have 2 billion influence, a ton of rares saved up, about 17 purples waiting, 1500 reward merits and have no clue what to do.
So thanks to everyone posting in this thread and to Sam for making it. It helps to read the answers to the questions. My thing was that I just didn't want to go through and make a build and end up 'gimping' the build meaning I now have less damage, less recharge, less end reduction then I did before.
Basically I don't understand it so I never touch it, I just use the crafted enhancements that end up being better than lvl 53 SO's and up until now have left the IO sets alone. It has always bugged the **** out of me though...
