    pretty good.
-do you need the 7.5% run speed now that we get swift? i'd get a karma in invis just in case since you're right on the cusp with KB prot.
-If you can afford it put some miracles and numinas in hoarfrost since they give better bonuses
-do you fight stalkers alot? cuz rain of fire doesn't mean you all set against being ASed. I'd recommend either Blazing bolt or blaze instead.
-the adjusted targeting end/recharge could be better for ya in BU and Aim instead of a recharge IO. It sacrificing very little time on the recharge of the two powers while giving you a bit more res... but up to you.
    -pretty good though GLHF

    -Not bad
-its looking pretty much good for zones.
-33 KB protection isn't enough for team arena (but then again ur gonna be in dominate most of the time hopefully.)
-if you can afford a glad jav set (like you did), put it into either fire blast or flares.
-if you can afford that many purple sets, why can't you get an apocalypse for either fire blast or flares
    - I would recommend keeping the chance for placate and the acc/recharge, but slotting up the dmg for mesmerize as it does good DPS.
    - replace blazing bolt slots with sniper IOs, they tend to give better bonuses and are cheaper
    - replace a LoTG with a karma KB prot in invis
    - replace a LoTG with a karma KB prot in stealth (that should get you to 41 points)\
    - if you are mostly zone, replace an adjusted targeting with rectified for more perception.
    - if you can afford to loose the performance shifter proc for a blessing of the zephyr KB prot in either SJ or SS, it would be smarter since your inherent refills ur end

basically Posi said its too crazy and nerve wracking to balance every single power in the game and the new ones coming out for a small corner or feature of the game called PvP when the time and work should go toward the main attraction for City of, which is letting players 'feel' uber powerful during PvE for out of shape human players who can't run a block IRL but can down 8.5 taco bell burritos. So instead, they set roofs on all powers call it a day and let the players have at it. If you break past the roof, you are usually an outlier on their data mined statistics and until enough of you shark throwing, kinetic meleeing, psi blasting yahoos get way 'too' many kills, the nerf bat will come around again sometime in 2015.
  5. in a 10 min duel MMs usually can't get a kill on a competent player loaded out with the right inspirations. Also For MMs to get a kill, the PvP Map needs to be tightly closed; as in anything larger than cargo map becomes increasingly hard to kill a good player. I estimate that if played patiently you can force a kill with a well built poison MM after 20 min (15 with heal decay on) or during sudden death if the squishy is not hibernated during the entire sudden death. On top of all that, if the other player has a fast recharging AoE, like fire ball, you will most likely die, but builds that can kill MMs usually loose to mirror power sets built for general 1v1. With tanks having bruise and MMs having slightly better dps (when pets actually attack), Tanks and MMs come out pretty equally when you factor in Taunt and MM debuffs. So if I had to rank them they would be in the middle of the pact still ahead of scrappers, brutes, epic ATs, and even (IMHO) slightly above doms.

-put your purple set on flares
-put a hold proc in some attacks rather than 6 slot javs
-slot in more recharge in hoarfrost by removing slots from snow storm
-slot up more recharge on BU and Aim
-move one slot from hast to CJ to get winter's gift slow rez
-Psi blast is a little easier to play than fire because of the placate proc (if you're still looking for easy mode)

blasters obviously have more sustained DPS and are basically 2nd in burst damage out of all the ATs, making them a fairly straight forward AT to play; but when you can hit BU and 1 button to take down 33% or more HP of most PvP squishy builds, to me, that's 5 times less skill involved than hitting BU (maybe Aim as well) 3-4 blasts all the while kiting your surroundings to get the same dmg. Moreover, doing that with a blaster (especially one with boost range) isn't very hard to begin with. With that comparison, I have to conclude that the sharking stalker is the easiest thing to play in PvP while at the same time having the lowest risk vs reward in zone PvP (what the OP will probably be doing) due to the hide, animation, and phase mechanics of the game. In fact, the sharking stalker was so lulzy that having more than 2 with sharks on a team in organized arena league PvP was against the rules lol. So i might have come off as being sarcastic but I'm actually being satirical in the above post. Sadly, truth usually always has more lulz.

make a shark throwing stalker. preferably a spines, KM, EM/WP or Regen with (inherent fitness), SJ, SS (with a stealth IO), Leadership, Concealment for stealth and Phase, and leviathan for sharks and hibernate. When you see an enemy at 25% HP, throw a shark out while you're in stealth and hide, then right after that run back to base. If anyone attacks you during this time after you throw your one shark, hit the hibernate button count to 10 so to go back into hide, then run back to base again. If the somehow they start to hit you some more after you come out of hibernate, hit the phase shift button and proceed to run back to base. Stay in base till both hibernate and phase are recharged and usable before comming back out to throw that one end all attack. kk GLHF this get up is as easy as it gets.

If you guys think this is logic, understand the difference between logic and opinion/fact. The above is just an opinion or fact of 2 different products. If the pizza company thinks that the employees are having a hard time keeping up with demand or the steps involved in making the pizza, the company should compromise in order to keep up with demand and to keep as many people happy. That is logical in business. If you are not happy with the new product, try to communicate that to the company then choose to continue to be a patron or not. That would also be reasonable.
  10. Judging by the way you're typing, then yes you will get owned going into PvP with a PvE build and PvE playstyle. I'm not saying those with infinite money and uber builds will kill you much faster than an average PvP build, but even sub par builds will defeat your toon if that player plays a PvP style game. There's a large learning curve in CoX PvP; powers perform differently in PvP environments. The pace of the game is more than doubled in most PvP; so reaction time, skill, and knowledge of powers, game mechanics, surroundings, and other players/roles are more emphasized. Once you understand many of these things, your playstyle will gradually change into more of a PvPer. PvP is the hardest thing to do well in CoH, and you may not need to change your build all that much but your playstyle and skill is really important in successful PvP. To start learning, I'd suggest going to a zone and getting on a team, sticking closely to your team, support the team, and/or attack what the team is attacking. In this regard, it's similar to PvE; but since it's PvP, it's much harder to pull off.
  11. so go with Inv, WP, then elec in that order.
  12. DP is very good for PvE and pretty Bad for PvP. On the contrary Psi is pretty crappy in PvE (sans AVs and EBs) but great in PvP.

Maybe I am behind the times, but that is the problem I used to have with my tank.
Rage crash intervals will be the same, you'll just spend more time in stacked rage. But after diminishing returns double rage is not a big step up in dmg. I think with nerve, If you have plenty of heals like aidself and energize or ur a regen, the recharge and heal bonus could come in handy especially vs. colds or poison.

Since you can only currently access Uncommon Boosts, 1/3 of the boost ignores ED. To calculate it, add 2/3 of the boost to the enhancements slotted in a power, then calculate ED on that total, then add the remaining 1/3 of the boost for the final enhancement number on whatever power in question.

Diminishing Returns is a totally different story, and one not specific to the alpha slot.
Oh so this means enhanced dmg remains intact in PvP and is not susceptible to DR? ok that makes sense and helps a lot in my choices. Thx.

The cardiac slot is a given, but since all my builds have a good amount end redux and +rec, i don't really need the extra endo. Though the +range and res would be appreciated. What I'm looking for is how to most effectively get more dmg or defenses to out DPS and/or out Last top tier builds like psy/ems, cold/darks, mind/fires etc.

The going rogue page says the following:
"Two-thirds of these bonuses ignore the effects of enhancement diminishing returns."

Why are the devs trying to confuse me? WTH does EDR mean? does it mean ED or DR or Both? I believe, for example, musculature's 45% +dmg will shoot past ED with 30% +dmg, but will that extra 33% be cut down to like a 6% net gain after PvP DR?

Also do pets suffer from +dmg DR?

Sorry about all the questions. I'm usually pretty knowledgeable about this game but I've been playing Starcraft 2 lately.

    How sad is it

Dahjee, What is this "Real PvP"? i must be missing out!
  18. will the hold last much longer for containment to kick in more so than just going for the straight dmg?
  19. Which Alpha Slot would you use for;

    A Psi blaster
    A Grav Troller
    A SS Tank
    A Therm Corr
    A Poison MM
    ??
  20. Dear Castle,

I appreciated your work on CoH, GLHF in the future and happy new year.
  21. how's elec/elec these days? are they effective at draining?
  22. make a WP/SS/Stone if you like WP and tanks. Get taunt hurl and fossilize and you'll be good for most fights.

every year or less someone asks this. The answer is if there was a pvp macro auto target, team pvp especially in arena would be a button mashing fest with no skills involved. Its also a reason why the league won't allow more than 2 sharks at a time since the devs won't fix random OP'd powers in pvp.
  24. any offensive toggle will do this so DN will slow as much as snow storm and even if there was a toggle that said it'll slow you down 99% of your movement speed DN will slow as much as that power in zones.
