Quote:lately ive been regularly duoing AVs, usually as long as you have 1 person with -regen and a brute, tank, whatever that can hold aggro good, then you can usually kill them fairly easyThanks, all. Seems like Roderick summed up the communal knowledge pretty well. It looks like if I want to make an "AV sting" team (line up a few AV's and invite folks in on the smackdown), I ought to set the "prefers AV's at full power" option. I've always just solo'd the EB, but I thought I'd try something different this time.
How big a team do you usually need for an AV? I've been on a couple teams of 8 that seemed like they took the AV down in a few seconds. What level does it start to become dicey?
Thanks again!
soloing an AV is prolly one of the more difficult things with AVs -
Quote:i usually try to rescue them last in that mish, but on toons with no stealth i usually just try to get them, i dont like leaving them somewhere because after each of the rescues you get 2-3 ambushsUnfortunately, not every mission is intended to be solo-able, but here's a tip for dealing with suicidal escorts, such as General Aarons, if other victims remain to be rescued or if there are other objectives. Lead the hostage to the mission entrance, then ditch him by using stealth or super speed. The hostage should stay safe by the door.
Hope this helps.
the RWZ mishs are actually easier to run solo and lowest possible diff setting, as for the crimson mish, the easiest way to do that is to kill him fast and or just keep him immob'ed long enough to kill him (when hes an AV hes much more annoying, he runs like he has super speed and is more resistant to mezzes) -
i frequently run on x6 to x8 spawns, and no matter what your diff is, unless you have team size large enough or the check that you want AVs no matter what, it will spawn as an EB
(i always keep AVs turned on cause its more fun for me lol) -
that crimson mish is very annoying, there are also a couple RWZ mishs that might need to be redesigned too
one of the mishs from serpent drummer to rescue the hostages and such (the general guy, the rikti, and like 6 other hostages, and kill a boss group), the annoying part of this is the general guy and the rikti guy are both extremely squishy (the general guy is weaker than fusionette and about as good at aggroing enemies), the 2nd annoying thing about the mish is that the boss group you have to kill, on lower diff isnt too bad, but on higher diff, the mob can be up to 7 fake nem and 1 LT in the boss mob and last time i ran that mish, the general guy literally got 1 shot when he got too close to the mob (as well as couple poeple on my team due to the fake nem staff being a target AoE), if either the general or the rikti guy dies, then you fail the mish
the other annoying RWZ mish is the first mish from gaussian when you have to escape with the nemesis LT (if he dies you fail), and after you get him, one of the ambush mobs that spawn (doesnt hunt you down though) is another one of those mobs that have like 8 fake nemesis in the mob
in one of gaussians later mishs, when you have to rescue deitreich, her guard mob also usually has 6+ fake nem in it too (on higher diff)
spawning 6-8 bosses in a single mob for x6-x8 setting is not fun, especially when they are all fake nem and all throwing up dispersion bubbles when aggro'd, and if you die while fighting them, they will then bubble each other too, further increasing their defense, PLUS to make it worse is when there is LT rank enemies in or near the mob to give them MORE defense from vengeance -
if i had any toons on protector i would gladly help, but all my toons are on victory
-
i try to get all my friends to play it (one would but doesnt have the funding to play atm)
i usually always tell poeple the game is awesome and stuff when talking to poeple about games -
cold dom corrs seem extremely good for barracuda sf (high defense buffs + the capped end recov for 90 sec in big spawns is very nice)
i think after doing barracuda enough, the thing to fight reichs is a lot of resist debuffs, 1 big -regen power (benumb, ect) will easily stop his regen, but resist debuffs go a lot further (i think he has about 90% or 95% resist to all dmg, thats what lord winter has and lord winter was designed on the same mechanics) -
Quote:i never have to worry about 3 because it always sells, 2 is only partially true, ive made more than the current last 5 sales listing for 1 infNo, read my post again, I explained the math. Your net gain is 90million regardless of whether you list it for 1inf or 100million inf. Assuming an item sells, your total fees (as in listing fee + sales fees) are the same no matter what your listing price was, it's based purely on the sale price at that point.
Listing at a low price does 3 things:
1. Helps your item sell faster
2. Gets you a lower sales price
3. Means you don't have to worry about listing to high and losing money when you pull and relist
my point was being not wasting inf in listing it for a high price if you are gonna lose the same amount regardless of what you list it, and again, when you sell something you dont get any money till you claim it, so to me im not paying anything on inf im receiving from a sale -
Quote:im only paying 5 inf for market listing fee, the fee you get when it sells i dont consider myself paying it because i havent received money yet, as in the money is being deducted before it is even added to my inventory, therefore i dont count it as me paying it*sigh* While the basic premise of listing at one inf so it sell immediately is not wrong, the second part of your statement is completely and utterly wrong. You are not saving ANY inf by listing for 1, you are simply shifting when you have to pay it.
When you list an item you pay 5% of the price as a listing fee. When you sell an item you have to pay 10% of the sale price as a sale fee. BUT the inf you already paid as the listing fee is subtracted from the sale fee.
For example, lets say I list a widget for 50million but it sells for 70million. I would pay a 2.5million listing fee (50mill * 5%). When it sells I would pay an additional 4.5million (70million * 10% - 2.5million), my total fees would be 7million. Now suppose I instead listed it at 1inf but it still sold for 70million. I would pay a 5inf listing fee and when it sold I would pay an additional 6999995 inf (70million * 10% - 5) and my total fees would still be 7million.
i list stuff for 1-5 inf because if the item only sells for 5 inf, then i still break even (if its like one of those common salvages)
if i list lets say a LOTG for 1 inf, i pay 5 inf for the listing fee, when it sells for lets day 100 mil inf, im still receiving about 90 mil inf, which i didnt have before, and if i listed it for 100 mil inf, i would have wasted an additional 5 mil inf, so my net gain would have been 85 mil, so for max profit i sell stuff for 1 inf (if i really cared about not losing 1-4 inf when a product sells i would list at 5 inf, but 1-4 is insignificant)
doing this also gets you the money ASAP (aka liquidation), but your inf that you get selling this way adds up fairly fast (especially if you get lucky drops) -
first thing, trial accounts are very limited:
- trial account lvl cap is 14
- trial account inf cap is 50,000
- trial accounts cannot join super groups
- trial accounts can only talk in team and local chat
im not sure what the population of justice is, but i think it is a little lower population
the last thing is normal, anyone super speeding around is gonna have some lag -
i always list items for 1-5 inf (only costs 5 inf) and whatever inf i make will be a profit since i did not have it before (many many times ive made upwards of 50 mil+ profit because im not wasting all my inf on hand in listing fees)

your leadership powers wouldnt buff the confused enemy because the confused enemy still is considered an enemy to you (hence they have orange box and attackable)
-
i dont think you could solo an AV with this build because storm has no -regen powers and ill/storm isnt a very high dmg combo (the perma PA would keep the AV off of you, but thats about it)
-
the force of the earth power ONLY works on devouring earth, it doesnt work like nectar from the spring fling/valentines event

Quote:arachnos, psi clockwork, carnies, longbow (some wardens), vanguard (some of them), several praetorian groups, and some of the rularuu are all enemy groups at upper lvl that have some or all psi dmg using NPCsHmm...that's odd. My perception is probably skewed by the fact that Psi *seems* more prevalent than Fire, due to the glaring Psi hole that most armors have, which in turn makes Psi that much more dangerous when you do encounter it.
But really, only 2% of the damage type in the game? Huh. I suspect it's more prevalent late-game, which is where I tend to spend most of my play time.
arachnos is sort of unique because they throw out all kinds of dmg, in fact i think the only type they rarely deal at all is cold dmg (only a few of the arachnos AVs use cold dmg, i think ice mistral and barracuda are it) -
Quote:CoT arent really medieval per se, but all of the lower lvl lieutenant ranked CoT use staves of some sort (another example is midnighters, ALL of them use staves except for the few ghosts and such)You describe a more medieval wizard, sort of like Merlin and Gandalf. I guess this is viable solution too. Also, IIRC, there is a crate outside BM vans that has 3-4 staffs and wands on it. Devs can use these; it would make me really happy.
midnighters are not medieval in the least but use arcane relics to give them powers (hence the staves, ect) -
i think what most poeple want for a "wizard" is to use a staff as a weapon (kind of like some of the CoT mages (force mage, life mage, ect)
the powerset he was proposing was a little more magic themed, i could see how fire or ice blast, ect could be "themed" to be a magic blast, but without a wizard staff, conceptually it doesnt work out right -
to throw in my 2 cents, in order to double stack IR from same person you would have to change zones
but i wish you luck on trying this! -
i17 is short for issue 17, which is the next free update to the game (should be released around april)

leadership buffs will only affect you, your pets, and your team, and any other NPC pets that are combat pets
enemies running leaderships will continue to buff the other enemies even when confused
tactics will always buff you and allies even if your confused -
1. no
2. not sure
3. in i17 they will be lowering the requirement
4. yes -
Quote:just cause it cons grey doesnt mean it cant drop anything, you get drops from enemies up to 4 lvls lower than you (-5 is the cutoff for ANY reward)I could be wrong, but I think -3 minions con grey, and therefore won't drop anything.
I have a broadsword/shield scrapper who I'll probably get to level 50 soon. It's not an ideal combination, but he has two AoEs and a cone (plus the damage from AaO), so he shouldn't be horrible at farming. It would at least give me some thing to do when my global channels are dead and I'm too lazy to actually do some thing.
however like they been saying, 47 is the min lvl for purps -
i like the suggestion, /signed

Quote:i know fire armor can hit the fire resist cap very easilyI was wonder if either DarK Armor or Fire Armor can hit the resist caps? & if it could be done rather inexpensively?
I know both sets have Stamina, Healing, & Damage aura tools. Was either going to role a Fire/DA or Dark/FA for concept reasons.
i dont remember how well dark armor is, havent played it in awhile -
i agree that i hate recasting the buffs to 8 man team, whenever i play a buff type toon (especially my FF mastermind) i rarely join large teams
on my FF mm right now, if im on a team of 8 and i try to keep my henchies bubbled too, its like trying to keep 2 teams bubbled (im almost constantly bubbling cause after i finish all 14 poeple/pets, the buffs on the first couple poeple only have maybe 1 minute left on the buff timer.
if im on my kin i usually only sb poeple who have end issues or stone brutes/tanks because the buff is so short duration i usually dont bother with it unless were just sitting around waiting for a mish or something)
on my buff toons (cold domination and ff), if im playing on large teams i honestly just buff poeple one time at the beginning of the mish, then ill usually try to keep poeple buffed but i wont chase poeple down and only buff poeple in range of myself
all of the single target buffs are not stackable from the same caster (unless you change zones)
i would like to see 1 of 2 things happen for buffs:
- increase duration (8-10 min duration)
- leave duration, but make them AoE effects (like inertial reduction, RAs, ect) and slightly increase end cost (not 45, but like 25-30)
