For instance if I could create an energy blaster that I could change all of his knockback to knockdown or even knockup without having to fly over them would be an awsome change. While knockback does have its uses its extremely rare to meet a player that doesnt totally **** it up on a team. I have yet to see at most 5 players do this in all my time in cox. Any other time they scatter stuff to the four winds which usually results in them being kicked from the team 30 seconds later for messing up the aoes.
I completely agree that KB is a generally undesirable effect for people who want to maximise killing and raking up speed runs of various missions/TFs/SFs. My rebuttle to that is "Do I really want to play with people, to whom my concept of fun (mercilessly throwing a Mob over a hand-rail into the hard concrete below and laughing at his rogdolling body 50ft away) is so totally alien?

Id rather not be on a team that I know doesn't understand the meaning of MY fun. Is that selfish? Yes. Do I care? No.
  2. This is going to get me laughed out of this thread... but I like large amounts of KB "baked in" to Crane Kick. That single power with all of its perceived "fault" in causing a Mob to fly over a railing and down to the next level is actually the reason I like MA so much.

I don't really give a rats rear end about how it lowers your/my DPS because you have to run an get the guy that just plummeted down 50ft to the warehouse floor, which I just wait to jump back up to me and repeat the process, giggling at the wild arm-flailings of flying enemies. What I do care about is having the power, in my opinion, "neutered" to Knock-up. If you're going to do ANYTHING then leave it at low mag KB (or KD as some like to call it) so I can put at least one KB enhancer in my Crane Kick and watch Mobs fly again.

...Don't lecture me that I think I'm l33t or noob and/or speaking to inexperienced children. I don't claim to be l33t, I never did. A player had an issue here and I tried to help end of story. IF this is a known issue then IMHO devs are aware of it and posting here requesting a solution when DEVS can't resolve it is fruitless.
Firstly, coming here and posting is a perfectly valid way of trying to communicate with the Developers. Time and time again we have been told that the Devs do read the threads and take valuable information from threads. An issue only becomes a "known issue" if enough people are talking about it. Forum posts add to that number and so help the Devs gauge the severity of the problem, or perceived problem, whichever is applicable.

Second, I agree that you came here with the intent to help. However the issue is not with our Macro set-ups, nor with our ability to command our pets; but the inability for the pets to understand the "Stay" command, or the "Go To" command. Your first post in this thread had a "Learn to Play" quality about it. You shouldn't be surprised that a few, already agitated MM vets, might see your post as slightly inflammatory. If you look again at PlainGuy's first post he very clearly says that he is having problems with his pets not obeying the "Stay" command, rather than how to tell them to stay in the first place.

Let me describe this very clearly so there can be no mistake; I use the Keybinds very kindly posted here in the MM sticky section and I also make use of self made Macros. When I set a location for my pets to "Go To", or to "Stay" the pet goes to that location, fires off its ranged attack chain, and then runs into melee to attack with brawl (or equivalent). Even if I click "Stay" again, and again, and again... or use "Go To" again, and again, and again, my pets do not stay put. They will run away from where they are meant to be. They will try use their melee attacks even if the "Go To" point is 80yards away from the target. After attacking said target they may come back to the point at which I told them to stay, and sometimes they will not until I give them a second "Go To" command.

Unless the Pet has a full attack chain that works from range, the default action for a pet is to use powers that are recharged; namely Brawl.

**This post does not intend to have a condescending tone. Please do not read it as an attack, nor as if I'm lecturing. I am mearly trying to inform everyone of the issue as I, the player, sees it.**
  4. I think Libby pulled a "tl;dr" there.
We've tried Libby, we really have. This is not an issue of player incompetence. Castle has privately admitted there is a problem with Pets.
  5. Thank you JoeKent for telling us that Castle is at least looking at it as a problem.

It's such a shame the Devs don't come on these threads more often and simply tell us that they're seriously looking into a posters concerns or if everything is working as intended.

I would have thought that would be simpler than replying to goodness-knows how many PMs
  6. It's the "Stay put as a rule" I'm not seeing. Even if the Mob is... 50... 75ft away the little buggers seem to enjoy fisty-cuffs to firing death from afar.
  7. "Like a Yo-Yo" just isn't a strong enough simile. There was a universal change in pet behaviour some ways back now that was implimented to stop every Necromancy and Ninja Mastermind from complaining that their Grave Knights and Jounin were sitting around using only gloom and Crossbow. For those MMs life got just that little bit better. For everyone else...

After Rolling up a new MM this evening I've come to the startling conclusion that the "Go To" command is a joke played on poor unsuspecting MMs. It seems the harder I try to use "Go To" as a way of keeping my poor pets out of melee and less in harms way of creatures with big swords, knives or blunt instruments of torture, the more they piss me off by rubber-banding between the Go To mark and their intended killer.

Now, don't get me wrong everyone. I do understand that playing a Mastermind is STILL CoV on easy mode, but asking me to get into the spirit of a so-called "mastermind" has put me more in thought of an incompetent Teacher/Parent with several children between the ages of 3 and 5 running about them in ever wilder and more dangerous circles... that lead past pits... broken glass... kitchen knives and a jury-rigged child's round-a-bout with razors on all the edges.

The A.I. "bug/feature" does not make it Hard to play a Mastermind. What it does is make it Annoying to play a Mastermind.
  8. Lvl 24 came the fastest I've ever levelled up a character with my first SoA. I entered a levelling pact and exclusively teamed with them (another SoA). Pummel and Heavy Burst are so much fun. Stacked Manoeuvres, Assault and Venom Grenade means we were killing a spawn with just a single application of Heavy Burst.

SoA from level 1-50 is a blast. 1-23 is just fun... 24 onwards is pure bliss. The damage output of just us 2 is obscene. Extra team-mates just makes everyone more awesome.

  10. Apparently it was so much work Waylorn, to get them on their backs in the FIRST place, that going through it all again isn't on the list of priorities at the moment.

In fact it's not on any list at the moment... and is unlikely to be added.
  11. It's not so much that Ultimo_ wants his cake and to eat it too, but that he also wants to force said cake on us; even though most of us are happy with the variety of cake we have already...

/e Eats cake slowly so as not to waste all of it in one go...

Managing END before 22 is very simple:
1 ACC TO/DO in each attack power FIRST. A missed attack is END that did nothing.
2 even level END.RED TOs/DOs in all your attacks that cost more than, say... 5 END and at least 1 in each Toggle. Update frequently to at least even level DOs. Buy +2 or +3 DOs if you feel you have the Inf. or a rich pal
Do Not Buy TOs (just slot up whatever drops and you should cope fine).

You wont have much Inf. at any point up to lvl 22, but your Blue Bar will sit steady most of the time unless you're in the SAME battle for more than 4-5mins.
If you're still IN a single spawn for more than 4-5mins anyway, you're doing something wrong... like, oh... I dunno, Intentionally Not Taking Your Attack Powers.

You don't need to complain about no Inf. in levels 21 and under, because... really... What else would you spend it on?

    Lastly; Inspirations drop regularly...

    USE...
    THEM!

the amount of times I try to hand out free Wakey Insps to dead players, or Respites to those with 5-10% health and get the message "This player has no room in his inspirations tray" is starting to grate on me. My pet peev is seeing that big flashy RED sign saying "Inspirations Full".

-=For the record, I find this game Non-Tedious. Thank you for your time=-

Ok, firstly if this thread isn't about Dominators (and their... ahem... "laughable" inherent) then why did you bring them up in the first place? You directly attacked their inherent, and used it as the starting point for one of your arguments. You were WRONG about Dominator's inherent, and about the Archetype in general. You seem to have the misguided thought that they can't hold through PToD (which is wrong by the way) and you think that they are a "vulnerable" class to play without their holds.

I argue that a Controller is vulnerable without her holds, a tanker vulnerable without his shields and a Mastermind is vulnerable without his pets. Sure, we're both technically "right" about that... take away the MAIN reason any class has any form of survivability and they'll become vulnerable; simple logic. However if you think that most Doms wander around not using their primary power set then I think we've seen your true "understanding" of the Archtype, as you so quaintly put it.

There is an expression; "Digging Yourself into a Hole", which I believe fits here. If you post something which backfires (like trying to make a point that includes saying that Doms, and Domination is "laughable") then take it back and move on without mentioning it again. If you continue to maintain your original assertion about Domination (which is wrong) you are digging yourself into a hole and making the rest of your assertions lack a certain credibility.

Play a Dominator, see the change and then come back. Until then please stop slandering the Doms inherent unless you have some further reason you don't like it after seeing the changes that apparently "aren't" happening.

    Upcomming Comic

Hi everyone. I've decided to do a short comic strip of the origins of my villain Crocodyle and I want your opinions on the style that I have chosen. It's a very Noir type look that I am gunning for and I want to know if I am pulling it off. Please tell me what you think:

    Linky

Now the next bit is easy. What type of Enemy is slumped at the bottom there? A biscuit for anyone who guesses the correct answer!
  16. The second one is definitely better. Looks like you spent more time on it.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Some holds ignore opponent typed defence, I think dominate is one of them. Whether this is due to a bug Im not sure. However, same glitch applies to controllers.

[/ QUOTE ]and/or positional defence too. It's not a bug. It is, in fact, WAI believe it or not. Mind Dominators/Controllers are king when it comes to screwing you no matter what you have
  18. This has to be the first time in the history of the world that someone has used the words "Villain" and "Overpowered" in the same sentence without also including the word "not" in there somewhere. Very amusing post.
  19. Oh the belt buckle Non-Metalic-Metal effect..? yeah that was a complete accident . That's not what I was trying to do with it but after a while I gave up and asked someone else what they thought. They told me it was one of the best metal effects they had seen me do... so I didn't argue

I see what you mean about the inside of the Trenchcoat. I'll rectify that at a later date if I ever update it again. Thanks for pointing that out.
    Edit: Did it
  20. Nah, I didn't think you were criticizing Swissy. But I'm not drawing him yet. I'll let some nice poses or enemies for him to be fighting build within my mind first.

What do you think of th highlighting Swissy?
  21. **Updated... Again** See Swissy's post. (Post #1 has been updated also)

    Now with Background and sourcelight!

I would like to point out to everyone that no colour remains from my original screenshot, The whole thing was taken down to only 2 colours. Pure Black, and Pure White. I then removed the white to an Alpha channel and the whole thing including greyscale and colour was then built from the ground up... For those who are curious, here is what I started with after that process. A monumental task if I do say so myself . Hope you like the new improved one I've spent another half hour getting right (I hope... please criticize as you see fit)

In a way, Swissy this was just like drawing him, as, when I pulled it down to just black on Alpha most of him dissapeared and I had to almost re-draw his whole body. (see above link) I'm glad with how he has come out sofar... but it's 20mins past 1 and I might be a little sleepy

PS: Just incase you're wondering Crocodyle is a Super Strength Invulnerability Brute.
  22. Ok, this was concived at about 10pm and, while I think the end product is good, it is half past 11

    So then... Comments are welcomed:
