Fly Trap, Static or Not?

Hey all, I'm considering going for a Pure Plant, but would like to know if the Fly Trap follows you, or if it is static?

"Pure Plant"? do tell - what in heavens name are you talking about?

It has legs & follows you about pretty reliably. It's "melee" attack of Bite is a bit better than Skewer for damage. It uses Roots, darts and Fling Thorns (cone) for ranged attacks.

Thanks Filth

and I meant Plant / Thorns, but I'm tired so I just decided to invent a new term.

For what its worth, I knew what you meant Jamie. I've got a Pure Plant dominator myself (as well as Pure Mind one). Don't have Flytrap yet though. Looking forward to it.

Enjoy your Flytrap. It´s really useful and it makes teammates freak out... regularly.

If it has
eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

Yeah "Seymore" moves arround and seems more obidient than many of the other pets in that in my experience it doesn't wonder off on it's own or attack random stuff too often.

Bitey definitely moves, and I love when he's at mid-range, that's when he uses his cones and throws thorns! When he does the single dart move, it looks like he says "Bullseye!" with a quite matching sound.

Looks like I need a name for my fly trap

"He" ! , surely you mean "she"

Always thought of Fly-Traps as female for some reason. Mines go's by the name of Rose.

My Dominator is a female character, her servants are male, even confused Carnie bosses.

Back on topic, after taking part in the all-dom team and seeing what the different pets do, I've noted that the Fly Trap and Jack Frost often are standing in the back watching the fight, possibly sharing a bag of popcorn.

It doesn't happen all the time, but as someone who's doing his best to stay out of range, I notice that these pets are sort of hanging out beside me. They're not mine and their "masters" are usually in the middle of a mob dominating things...so what's the deal? Do you have to walk "past" a mob to get them to notice it...or what?

I;ve read Jack has a nasty habbit of standing back throwing ice, one suggestion was to get tp friend and teleport him into the mobs so he'll actually start meleeing things and his chilling embrace to slow them.

I suppose walking past would work ok too.

At least in the Fly Trap's case, it's meant to be a ranged/control pet, right? Something like Singularity.

Or they could just give Jack Aim Ice Blast and Bitter Ice Blast. Then I'd be fine with him staying ranged. ^.^

@Rooks

"You should come inside the box... Then you'll know what I mean."

My Flytrap mixes it up pretty well and no complaints tbh.

It equally immobs and throws thorns from range as much as it charges into melee and bites.

The ranged stuff is great anyway, and it's not shy about letting it all fly .
Happy with my Flytrap. Can'tremember anytime it's caused any "Pet aggro" problems at all. It's a great pet and compliments my Dominator well.

All the times I've played with anyone hauling Jack around he just seems really reeeeeally timid .

Slightly off topic but Fly Trap has a couple of the most hilarious animations in the game (in my humble...).

Firstly - if it gets held in a tesla cage the dramatic thrashing and shaking cracks me up every time. Worth taking it up against some Freaks just to see it.

Also - the animation it performs when you dismiss it is so over the top it's hysterical. Looks like a very bad ham actor reacting to being shot:

"Arrgh......you got me......I'm deaded......no really.....arghh....."

Ever wondered how our costumes stay so clean and shiny given everything we put them through?

Then you need to try out Spandex Crisis (Arc ID 32943)

There's another animation in some situations where it goes all timid and scared, skulks around with his head bowed...

Pulls at my heart-strings everytime .

Aw, c'mere Chompy *Aid Other, pats Chompy, throws him a Fire/Kin' to chew on*
