Fire loves defense, but Fire loves Recharge even more. Check out the guide in my sig for Dark Melee. Check out my slotting for Melee and let me know how it fits your bill.

It's a pity Interface can't be customized. I'd like to change the vomit-yellow of Diamagnetic into something else.
-
Most trials, failed or not, have run me about 35 minutes or so. That's less time than any WST I've ever done ever, speed or otherwise.
-
Haven't succeeded once. I HAVE, however, had some great turnstile PUGs and lost to the timer on L-Sector TWICE. (Marauder was under 10% both times and the time limit screwed us.)
Win or lose, I'm enjoying the trials immensely. -

I'm not telling you to fail. No one is. We're telling you to unlock your new Incarnate abilities before you try to push for the win.
-
You don't need to be running the Trials to win them, people.
You don't. Hear me out because I'm dead serious.
Right now the trials are feeling nigh-insurmountable. Some people have finished them, most have not. Let me give you a tip that has altered my view a little.
The trials, at this stage, are for unlocking your Incarnate slots. Don't go in to a trial with the mindset of "We have to win this or it's all for bust." That will come in time. You need to refocus your determination on unlocking your slots with Incarnate XP.
Run it to unlock the slots, obtain the materials/threads needed to craft your level shifts, and return to the tasks of the BAF/L-Sector when you have your level shifts from Interface and Destiny. When you have those, you're 3 levels stronger if you count your Alpha shift.
By then, you will have incredible abilities tied to your powers, and the Judgement/Lore slots at your disposal if you've crafted them. By then, the playerbase will know the "routines" of the trials. The trials will run smoother. The tasks will complete. The merits will be rewarded. The spice will flow.
For now, fight for your power. When you have it, bring it to those who've bested you and unleash it in their faces. -
Purples and oranges. As many as possible. Seriously.

Quote:Interesting. I'm assuming, in order to "switch" to the new "expansions" we'll need to break down our currents, since I'm sure aesthetic/utility reasons for wanting the new pets are just that--wants?Keep in mind that we're going to be expanding/diversifying the Lore slot, as confirmed by Mr. Black Scorpion in the UStream dev chat.
It definitely doesn't hurt to at least get started on unlocking it and working your way up.
What I mean to ask is, if we unlock some IDF and then you folks release, say, Rularuu as Lore pets, there probably won't be an option to "make the change to the new stuff", right? Just break down and rebuild? -
I had the same conundrum with three of my toons (my main can explain away the Seers rather easily) so I figured I'd just grab the level shifter and only bust out the pet if I'm in a bind solo. Honestly, the Warworks/IDF pets will probably make taking on tough EBs/AVs much easier considering that the tier 4's will give you dedicated support if you go Radial. Again, take them and reap the level shift. If you're in a nasty situation, summon up and go to town.

Quote:Word to the wise: Unlock the Tier 3 for the trial level shift, and just never use the pet. You'll be missing out on a free level if you don't.I'm probably looking a gift horse in the mouth here, but how many others besides me are just going to flat out not bother with the Lore pets, not because they generally don't like pets but because the Praetorian-NPC nature of those pets clashes with their character concept? Because don't get me wrong, I like pets just fine - my four Masterminds, two Dominators, and five Controllers including one that uses Illusions are somewhat telling. I just feel like they'd be a little immersion-breaking on a lot of my characters, especially the ones who are supposed to be connected to other NPC villain groups (the exceptions being my Meat Doctor character and two of my Menders, who will make perfect sense with salvaged Clockwork allies).
I guess I could think up IC reasons for most of the otherwise-odd ones, but that's a tall order for some of the more magically oriented and otherworldly characters, you know? Nordic frost giants, sentient black holes, ancient Anglo-Saxon revenants, genies, malevolent hurricane spirits, Soldiers of Rularuu, and Andrew Jackson don't seem like they'd be so easy to reconcile with the whole having-a-Praetorian-buddy thing.
Or maybe I'm just grumpy because with all the time this patch is taking to download, I won't get to play today. I dunno. I wish I could just give the Seers a Wisp skin... I don't care if their powersets don't match perfectly. -
Quote:Z?The issue didn't actually pop up on test from what I can tell, and we ran several BAF Trials during one of the many open testing events. There's simply some things that don't manifest until you get into a live server environment.
That being said, we're currently investigating the issue.
Thanks!

Have I told you how much you rock?
Thank you for sidestepping my nerdrage. Glad you guys have your eye on it. -
I've unsuccessfully run 3 BAF trials today. All of them ended with this, for the whole team. No problems, no objectives failed, everything going according to plan.
Suddenly, we're all kicked from the zone.
"You have quit your team."
Um, no, I didn't. Neither did the other 12 people I was with. This has happened 3 times:
First one during the opening cinematic.
Second one during the first prisoner escape.
Third one during the pull of Siege.
What the hell is going on? How was this missed on Test? -

Oh, I avoided that. Didn't stop him from punching me though. He tore our Shield Tanker in half first, smashed our /Rad into a paste, charged past me and sent our Blaster flying and finally spun around to cave my chest cavity in with a well-placed straight haymaker. I hosp'd and didn't see what happened to the remainder of my league. All I know is that they died.

Install XP Sp3. Problem will solve.

*points to the giant fist-shaped dent in his chest*
Seriously, that dude hits like a train. Had an absolute blast failing my first Lambda Sector run (seriously, I had fun). Looks like the slots are gonna be a tad slow to unlock, but then again I've only done it once and I'm at 15% Interface.
Thanks for the content, Devs!

What Dechs said. Get your head in the planning game before getting it in the real game.
