The workaround for now is to toss out the Preferences (referenced in the link above) but hopefully Cider will come up with a permanent fix someday.
Thanks, Manga. Glad you're on the same rig I am. Makes your advice a lot more applicable.

  4. A followup to my previous post: Got a few toggles on my Kin/Invul (which I'm going to start calling Kinvul from now on, cause it's fun to say) and I've gotta say how impressed I am with the endurance efficiency of Kinetic Melee. With Sprint, Temp Invul and Unyielding running I have no endurance issues, even when running from fight to fight with out pause-- and I'm ievel 17!

    Kinvul and loving it.
  5. Ever since I got my shiny new sexy i7 Macbook Pro with all it's high-end specs and glory, my client has been crashing like a poorly made paper airplane.

I've disabled FAA and geometry buffers, have nothing set to Ultra (just high), and run windowed (for multitasking reasons).

What usually happens is, my game lags and freezes once or twice. Then, the entire screen flashes black. Then the game textures begin corrupting (ever see the side of Cole's tower turn into Scarred Face 2? scary stuff, man). Then my client either:

    A) gives the Assertion Failure dialog box, or
    B) quits with no error and generates about 75,000+ pageouts from my RAM.

    Any ideas?

Good point, I didn't realize how vague my post was. Lemme rephrase:

To generate fury, you need to whiff or be whiffed at.

Yeah, I supposed I'll miss the 90%+ fury averages of a strong farm, but really in between double stacked rage, 70% fury and pile of reds, I guess I just didn't notice.
    Soul Drain makes me happy.

I am not looking for performance levels like that of my farmers, but also do not want to faceplant every third mob. I have a reasonable amount of inf to pour into him, but dont really want to get into minimaxing on this toon. So finally to my point: Can i have fun on a /DA brute without it getting to be overly frustrating?

Fiery Aura/Fiery Embrace - The Brute version of this power had a 30 second duration on the Fire Damage buff. This was inconsistent with the Tanker and Scrapper versions and has been reduced to 20 seconds. Note with the changes above, this only applies in PVP.

Dark Armor/Aura of Fear - The Brute version of this power has a magnitude was set to 3. This was inconsistent with the Tanker and Scrapper versions and has been reduced to 2.

Decreased Brute Damage Cap from 850% to 775%.

Modified the Brute Fury Formula so that there is a more gradual degradation of Fury Build Up while attacking/being attacked instead of a sharp fall off at 80%. The fall off begins at 30%.

Reduced Fury Decay Rate from 2 points per second to 0.75 points per second.

The overall result of these two changes to Fury Generation is that it will be easier to maintain low levels of Fury, while gaining very high levels of Fury will be more difficult.

Fixed a bug which prevented bonus Fury generation when attacking other players or very difficult targets such as Archvillains. The bonus is a flat 5 points per qualifying target hit by the attack, up to 70% Fury. Note that unlike standard Fury generation, this bonus only applies if the attack hits the target.
First off, You didn't look for the positives

    I'll keep it simple:

-Fiery Embrace is now an incredible power. It makes /Fire a viable option for ANY primary; previously, the power was only useful if you were Fire/. Think of it as using Incendiary Ammo, but for your fists.

-The damage cap nerf was nothing special or painful. I've only been at the previous 850% cap when I had 4 Kineticists pumping max-spawn Fulcrum Shifts on me all at the same time with full Fury and a capped Soul Drain.

-Fury now generates way easier. WAY easier. And it degrades way slower. WAY WAY WAY slower. This means you can chain sweep entire spawns without losing that high-output edge Brutes are so notorious for. It's especially helpful to low-level Brutes, who now generate Fury at a phenomenal rate (compared to pre-i18), which allows them to take on more enemies and rack up more kills faster. Higher level Brutes lose Fury slower, making them able to sprint from one group to the next without needing that slow climb to get them back up to speed.

-Aura of Fear's mag nerf was nothing special, either. In order to generate Fury, a Brute needs to hit and BE hit. In my case (Dark Melee/Dark Armor/Soul Mastery) Aura of Fear was only useful when I wanted to lay down a fear on an EB/AV. Otherwise it was just an end-waster that didn't get me any more Fury.

    ----

I personally welcome these changes, as they've made my Brutes feel far more efficient (especially my newly-made Kin/Invul). Fury now feels like a true berserk; when you enter the fight, you get the blood pumping and feel the adrenaline flow. If the fight lasts too long, you say "I'm finishing this." Then you generate past 80 Fury and get the job done, maxing out your damage and slaughtering people. And when you get done, you still have that combat high, and you're ready to unleash on another group of unsuspecting enemies.
  15. This will mark the third time I've "predownloaded" the predownload. Every time I exit, my game client downloads the predownload to completion. Then, the next time I exit... it starts the download again.

    Anyone else getting this?

  17. I'm hoping it fixes some issues with the mac client. Right now the mac client has a sinkhole-sized memory leak in it somewhere, and on occasion the game will just... disappear. I crash like this 9-10 times a day.
  18. I love my DP/Kin. Loved him from level 1 to the level 41 he is now. With Scorpion Shield, I kick major ***. Don't know what your issue is, sorry D:

I'll strongly consider that. Usually I just use regular IO's until I hit 45+, but maybe starting early with some insane slotting will do me some good.

All so any idea how my slotting is for the rest of my build? I'm not sure about the pet slotting, maybe I should use a different pet set later on then those?
I don't think you need so many slots in Caltrops. The damage is miniscule, unless you're just slotting for bonuses. I never took it as it causes the spawn to run around and scatter out of your poison trap/demon AoE attacks.

I'm interested in the knock out blow thing, I could possibly make that work.
I'm not entirely sure that the PvE stealth SS provides would be enough. I had it on my long-since-deleted 41 Thugs/Traps MM. I'd usually send the henchies in to provide a diversion while I laid stuff down; running in on my own, regardless of what I was using toggle-wise, usually ended in death.

Plus, KO Blow counts as a hold. Stack that with Poison Trap, and sucker-punch those bosses!

That's what I have been told anyways. It makes sense in a kind of sad heart breaking way. : (
I see. Well, if you wanted to go a little crazy you could switch to Leviathan Mastery and get the shield and Knockout Blow. Last thing someone would expect is to get their jaw smashed in by the MM and not the pets.
  23. This just just my 2 cents:

I don't ever see a need for two travel powers, even in PvP. You're better off getting something else, like Medicine or Leadership, or another Epic power. Grab Power Boost!
