Same for me. I've got a mind dom, some support, and a couple of brutes depending on what's needed.

There are 11 right now and only 2 of them are in yellow most of the time, Virtue and Freedom.
Not everyone wants balance amongst the servers. I myself am all for Champion staying the way it is, in terms of population. Sure, sometimes it seems a little low, but that makes it comfortable for me. I wouldn't be a fan of a more heavily populated server.

You may feel balance is needed and I'm sure many would agree with you, but you might also be surprised by how many people in Champion may want to keep the server the way it is in terms of population.

If you can't find a team on Champion , you probably aren't trying very hard or you aren't a person people want to hang out with. Be nice and try harder.
Might be a little too harsh there. Better to be friendly and assume that they really just don't know where they can look to find teamage than assume they might be unpleasant.
  4. 1st: Rogue Faction; created with a few friends of mine from Auto Assault, when we started to play CoX. Only left when after a long haitus, I came back to the game and they had all quit/switched servers.
2nd: United Villains Brigade; joined after returning to the game, after my friends had left. I wanted to see about making new friends and a friend referred UVB. After joining, I couldn't really settle in (not their fault), and switched VGs when I made friends elsewhere.
3rd: The Hidden Star Village; joined, and stayed, for about two years. Eventually became the largest prestige earner. But after a time, the VG went inactive. There're still a few lying around, but perhaps only one or two; the leaders have long since left -- one no longer plays the game, the other frequents Freedom for PvP and is still only rarely on now.
4th: Languishing Vitality (VG)/Natural Foundation (SG): Storage bases that I share with my boyfriend. I feel I no longer need to belong to any particular SG/VG, and while it might be tempting to join one from time to time, I'd probably go back to moving my chars back into my storage bases.

It also helps when I agree with this... I run tfs/sfs with a group of friends, some of which I've never even shared a VG or SG with, but it feels like we are just one whole SG/VG, despite actual affiliations.

While quite a few people moved from Champion to Freedom for PvP, there's still many that remained; and even then, several I know of that number moved only their PvP characters, leaving the rest behind. There is a villain community; you just need to know where to find them. And while we have lost a few players entirely, a few more have also joined the server, thus helping fill the gap left behind. It isn't quite as desolate as you may believe.

To be honest though, for some of us, like myself, it feels like the population for the server hasn't declined at all. I regularly am on tfs/sfs with a group of friends, and when one takes a break from the game there's usually someone else to take their place. So for me, it hasn't seemed like the server is lacking in terms of population count.

Perhaps the overall population amount has dwindled over the year, but I don't feel it isn't something that requires immediate attention and/or a server merge. I like the fact that Champion has a smaller population; makes for a closer community, one where it feels like everyone knows everyone else.
  6. 1st: Arli, Energy/Thermal Corruptor. First 50 too. Since then renamed and stripped, but kept around because I can't bring myself to delete her.
2nd: Naloc, SS/Invul Brute. Third 50, still used regularly and was my online handle before Arli
3rd: Calixte, Ice/kin Corruptor. Second 50, stripped and moved to another server. Had a lot of good memories with her but wanted a different /kin corruptor.
  7. Eh, why not?

Most of the people I talk to regularly in-game already know this, but to start off with; Phoenix and I met each other in game.

It was in August of 2008; I was farming with a fellow VG member at the time and at some point while we were he received a tell from someone, asking if he could join. We agreed, and all three of us continued farming.

All the while, he was talking; during our group conversation I found we had a lot in common, but me, being shy by nature, can take some time to become acclimated to someone else so I didn't have an active role in the conversation. Another VG mate of mine joined and after a little while longer, we stopped farming and played different characters. At the time I belonged to a VG named Hidden Star Village, and all (or at least most of us) were anime fans and discovered that Phoenix Master (or PM, as we called him at the time), was also a fellow aficionado. Gradually, as time went on, only myself and Phoenix were left online together. And of course, we proceeded to talk long into the early morning, and I honestly can't even remember what we talked about. >>

Over time, we developed a strong friendship, but at some point something more developed. Sometime the next year we finally met, things went perfectly, and we're still going strong; I'll be picking him up at the airport today (he attends classes in New York while I attend classes in California). He's was the first person I met in person after first meeting online, and so far he's still the only one.

He's a few years younger than I am (I never thought I'd go for a man younger than I am; or at least that young), but we didn't really talk about that until after we had gotten into a relationship, and at that point it didn't even matter anymore. It's almost hard to believe we only met in a game, considering how close we've become, but I definitely won't have any complaints. A series of events had to occur for me to even play City of Heroes (PlayNC shut down another MMO and offered City of Heroes as a gift to apologize), and for me, having a game I loved get shut down was worth it if it meant I got to meet my "Brian" (some of you will understand ).

We have plans to finish our respective educations before we plan to fix our "other side of the country" problem. It's not an easy situation, but we cope with it as best we can and know that we'll make up the time spent apart by spending much more time together afterwards.

    2010 Shout outs!

To the crew of Not Vent; you know who you are!

And to all of my globals; without you the game wouldn't be worth playing. Missing some of you, but keeping my fingers crossed in the hopes you'll return!

And of course, to Phoenix; I wouldn't even be playing right now if it weren't for you. <3

Additionally, to Champion; Thank you for everything you do, for making me want to stick with Champion throughout, despite having many opportunities to switch servers. Not too small and not too large, Champ's the perfect place to be.
  9. I'd like in for this..

Heroside, I can bring either my fire/dark scrapper or my ill/emp troller.

Villainside, I can bring either my ss/fire brute or my dp/sonic corr.

I'd be available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, as well as Monday and Wednesday nights. And I haven't done one yet, but I can follow directions.

    My global's @Arli

I also hate it when someone randomly buffs me when I'm at the Black Market or at Wentworth's, or even just standing around in Ouro. Just...no.

But occasionally, and I do mean occasionally, when I just create a new character and am running around in a starting zone, I like to see how my character looks when using powers and how well it's meshing with the costume, and I also like to see how well they can perform on their own. In that respect, being randomly buffed when I'm fighting something on the streets isn't always welcomed, since it can interfere with how my character looks and/or keep me from being able to monitor how well my character does on my own.

    But onwards;

Another pet peeve: People inviting themselves over to my farms when they know I'm farming. If I wanted them to join I would've invited them in the first place. >>

Having created several controllers and absolutely loving them, as well as several corruptors... I'd be inclined to agree with that as well.

Sign me up as well - I'll be bringing a dual pistols/sonic corruptor, global @Arli

    1. @T.Fury - T'Riot (Sonic/Cold)
    2. @Llewthor - Scorching Llewthor (Fire/Dark)
    3. @Cherry 2000 - (Fire/Kin i think....)
    4. @Arli - Dahni (DP/Sonic)

What's with the passive agressive tags? >>

But seriously, thanks everyone. Took us a few tries, but we wanted to do it while the greens were still "broken". Seems like we did it just in time too, since the patch that came out today "fixed" them.

    Farm Builds.

You might want to consider elec/nin if you want a farming stalker; Smoke Flash is a pbaoe placate, useful when going against a full mob.

As for the whole Mu vs. Soul thing, I prefer Soul with my SS/Fire, since I don't always use her for simply farming; the -ACC with Soul is appreciated. I use Mu on my SS/Inv because of the greater damage output from BL, but only because she takes a bit longer to defeat enemies and thus the DoT is more likely to last. I don't really care for electric fences but that's a personal choice.

Either way, I appreciate usage of both and respect players who choose to use one or the other; especially since I see the merits in using both.

  18. I blame Ecnat then, since she made me start it. At least she ultimately had to deal with going to the contact anyway.. >>

And I only asked for heals twice! Don't be mean.
  19. I was the only one who could start it too. So much shame for the other three people, of course. >>

And what's this about impossibilities? You're impossible, with your constant slowness. Stop being so slow!

But yes, the run was more fun despite the fact that I was kinda in panic mode when we were taking on Numina, because invul+psi damage=not fun
  20. I won't be able to make it, but best of luck - I'll be rooting for you guys while I'm gone.
  21. Demon Summoning is awesome. You should at least take a look at it.

With the additional exploration badges (which are only applicable towards city zones; not pvp, trial or hazard), you can also get an accolade once you get all the badges in a zone which'll award you with five merits. Additionally, in terms of badging, you do get badges for running through the new mission arcs, which are a bit of a sneak peak with what you may see once GR goes live. And, they're great arcs. I loved them when I ran through them. New Posi>original Posi, also. Silver Mantis can now be started by talking to Silver Mantis in Sharkhead instead of actually doing it from a mission computer.

New water effects looks pretty, and I appreciate the shadows. It's nice having an actual shadow now for my character and not just a circular blob. Although, bugs are annoying. But all the new things'll be even better once they're fixed.

You should do a run through on the badges and content.
  22. I'll be there for yellow taunt. We can do it with just three brutes if we've got support that's on the ball with keeping mez protection buffs on the brutes while they're taunting.
  23. I'll be there with my SS/Fire, for taunt. And this time I'll actually bring EoEs and a bio nuke with me.
  24. I've decided that I <3 you again for posting this, Silas. Considering, you know, that I usually </3 you to begin with.

Can't see anything I won't like with i17, GR and i19, to be honest.. All good stuff that I'm looking forward to - and more endgame content is always good, too. Looking forward to seeing what GR'll be like, and only a few months left to find out.

My name's Jane, and I'm 25. I'm currently in college taking classes for forensic technology in California. I took a few years off after graduating from high school to help my parents out, who had health issues at the time. CoX is my third MMO, after Planetside and Auto Assault.
