Did mine with my Necro/Dark MM. My god all the stacking holds, DN and tar patches made me think twice of doing that one again.

Quote:Technically base raiding with the IoP the big centerpiece to the CoV advertisement. It would of been end game work cause it would work more of an idea of a raid.Base raiding was never going to be a significant part of anything unless they gave us "something to fight over". Since that didn't happen, base raiding became an afterthought. I think you have your causes and effects reversed.
If the CoP trial worked it would of helped base raids increase in popularity and probably brought in more other trinkets to raid for. Although to say it was never significant part is en grossly wrong since it was stuck on every CoV box.
*EDIT*
Base raiding was a big thing still for PvPers when it was live. I know there was a few SGs on my server that did regular base raiding...there was a crowd for it...but it falls under Lothic's post on what happened.
*EDIT*
Here is an excerpt from wikipedia...take it as you will with wiki et all.

* For a short time, Items of Power were available after a supergroup completed the Cathedral of Pain trial. If a Supergroup's base contains an Item of Power, the lair is open to (scheduled) raids by any other Supergroup which owns fewer Items of Power. Items of Power confer modest stat bonuses to all members of the owning supergroup. The Cathedral of Pain trial, along with the Items of Power system, have been disabled for some time.

Players can create bases for their villain groups. These allow the player to meet-up with other players privately and gain access to useful game facilities. From a base, players can travel directly to specific zones, buy Enhancements and Inspirations, or acquire missions, for example.
"Items of Power" can be stored here. These items provide the supergroup with stat bonuses, but also opens up the base for raiding (see also "Player vs. Player" above). The bases can be equipped with traps and other countermeasures to help fend off these raids. During scheduled base defense time periods any other supergroup will be able to raid the base and attempt to seize an Item Of Power. The trial to acquire Items of Power was disabled shortly after its release due to the presence of a game-breaking exploit. This left player-scheduled Base Raids with no rewards beyond bragging rights as the only avenue for base combat, until the Base Raid system was disabled in Issue 13. -

I really like playing my dark/thermal for teaming. With the -to hit from dark, and the various buffs you get with fire, plasma and forge you cannot go wrong there(I think). Then add in Melt Armor and Heat Exhaustion and it is a fun team build.

Yeah I know it is full of win. There is always hilarity on our global channels. TFs/SFs run quite a bit. We are building a good stable for Hami raids again; and it is plain old fun with a lot of friendly people on the server.

I was going to say something smart and snarky....but then I saw who made the thread and thought it was enough to begin with.
Also 39 month vet...the 60 vet award does nothing for me so it is all meh. -

Quote:This sums up how I feel about the game. Freedom and Virtue have the highest but that does not equal best.I play on the least populated server. I refuse to leave it. It may kill me, but if I see someone new to the game while playing trying to find a team I usually tell them they may want to make toons on virtue or freedom >.> I'd rather they enjoy themselves/be able to find teams then boost my server's #'s :\ With that said, some of the smallest servers have the greatest communities in the game.
What one person loves is not the same as the other. Best advise is to try all servers and see what you like most.
Of course I can pump Triumph cause of our core group...but some people do not like it so YMMV. -
I am still playing although I have been busy packing for my move.

Quote:My story is close to yours also with my Ice/Psi dom. Runs artic air, CJ and assault. Ran normal content arcs and AE. Slotted with IOs I picked up from cheap and drops. Sold the rest. I am sitting at lvl 34 with about 80 mill in the bank, just putting up stuff for 100 inf.or, don't even bother looking at the prices for most stuff and just list for 1 (or 5, or 100, or any suitably low number) and vendor anything that doesn't sell instantly. I'm doing this on my aforementioned stalker.....here, let me find the thread....here we go.
50 million inf at level 32, all from running contact missions and pricing drops to move.
Unless you crave purples and PvP IOs you can make more inf than you can ever spend by simply playing 'normally' and selling your junk on the market. -
Yup I had the same feeling on my fire/earth dom leveling it up.....but once I got the IOs into the build, it was something different. I would only be a S1 on this; but I have it up enough that I tear through mobs.

Cause you make all our rant look shameful. Your are well detailed and well in-sighted.
