  1. There seems to be little sense to arguing against buying the Roman armor via the new system.

Back in the day when the ITF was the new in-thing to do, I did run alt after alt through to unlock weapons and the armor, but that in and of itself was never the motivation. Having fun with friends in game was. Since I've come back, I've seen one ITF forming. Every other time I've been in Cim, the zone is empty.

Once content is older and is no longer frequently run, I see no reason to keep purely cosmetic rewards locked away where new players may not ever even know it exists. Either make it a global unlock, or put it in the store.

If a person spends their Points on the Roman armor, that's X number of points less they have to spend on other buyable content, whereas they could have unlocked the armor for free and had more points to spend on content they cannot get for free. They lose some flexibility for the convenience and it's hurting no one else.

There's nothing wrong with giving people choices on what to do with their time. Ninety percent of the time, I'll choose the free way of doing things when possible, but sometimes, convenience is just more important to me. Or maybe I've seen the content enough in my time playing and I just really don't feel like having to grind an alt up to a certain level and deal with a PuG ITF for the hundredth time.

Don't get me wrong, I love the ITF. Wouldn't have run it multiple times a day if I didn't. Everyone who has been around since the ITF was created has probably run all their alts and then some and gotten the benefit of using the armor.

I'm perfectly OK with letting the exclusivity of the armor go and putting it up for sale. Afterall, how many of us ground out Vanguard merits via Mothership Raids for the Vanguard set? I know I did, but we can buy it now and I'm really OK with that.
  2. I like the new arcs alright for a single run-through, but I'm sooooo wishing for the old quest chains back for some variety.

All those NPC's standing around doing nothing now bring back so many memories of how things were. I even miss those lowbie level Vahz missions that could be so hair-pullingly hard with the diseases and the recharge debuffs.

And the old school mission where you got the disease and the flies aura and had to get cured. /sad

What they should do is give us a pop-up window asking us if we wish to do the new tutorial style play, or the old style quest grind, or heck, just give us both and nudge new players toward the tutorial storyline to help them out if they need it.
  3. I ran into this with Master Midnight in the First Ward arcs in the graveyard fight. He just... took off running until I actually lost him as a target.

I had two choices: chase him down and leave DeVore to fight off the wave after wave of zombies, EB's included, or stand my ground and hope the waves would stop at some point so I could chase Midnight down.

Since I lost him as a target, the only choice it seemed I had was to fight where I was. DeVore's health was plummeting fast and my poor blaster was getting destroyed as well. My helper fell and I had to flee.

Finally, Master Chicken decided to come back to taunt me some more, attacked once, then fled again. This time, I just went after him and ignored the rest.

Doesn't make a whole lotta sense for a big bad leader to bring in an army to back him up if he's just gonna run like a pansy.

The whole First Ward quest chain contained quite a few instances of mobs running for the hills, literally, some of which actually *HID* from me and it was majorly a pain to find them especially with the over-abundance of "waves of mobs spawning in" type quests that are now found in the game.

Mobs that flee/hide when they're a combined quest objective with mob wave spawns is not a terribly good combo.

I noticed this as well when I went to do both parts on my Lvl50 Scrapper. I had no contact(s) in my list and I never recall ever seeing a popup for either one of them. It took digging around on Paragonwiki and the forums to find out who to talk to and where to go to even start.

The chains were enjoyable for me, the artwork assets were great, especially the Shin, but one really shouldn't have to rely on digging around the forum and outside sites to figure out how to start. Most especially since these are things that must be purchased if you're not subbed.
  5. I have to agree about the restrictions on chat. I was here during the horrible RMT via email and tells and, yes, it was disrupting and annoying for pretty much everyone.

I also am actively playing WoW where RMT is 1000x worse. (One would think, that with the much higher incidence of RMT there, that they'd have far greater restrictions.) And if paid accounts add a trial person to their friends list, they can freely communicate with each other via tells. The only restriction is the trial cannot invite the paid player to a team, only vice versa.

I'm all for letting Freems reply to tells. I know logging into my account as a Preem was a shocking experience because of all the restrictions, and I can't even imagine what a free account has to deal with. I'm more than happy to pay for a sub to not even have to find out.

    Yes, I'm a costume *****.

I also noticed that if I saved a costume and then tried to reload it, I was getting a Weapon error.

Anyway ... Support had to blank out slots 2, 5, 6, and 7, and I was able to start from scratch. However, with each costume, I still had to manually "select" Widow claws -- even though I had no other option and could not change them -- or the error would continue. But it's working now.

So if you find something similar happening, first thing to do is check the weapons.
This was my finding as well. All my VEATS were affected by this problem, but my Crab Spider most of all. All slots from 1 to 4 were broken and edits refused to 'stick'.

After coming to the forum, ticketing for help, and endless frustration, I finally figured out that changing all the weapons slots to the default Arachnos model and setting the Crab Spider backpack to the standard one as well was the key despite the tailor telling me it was something in the "Head" section that was invalid.
  7. I have to say, I miss the heck out of the old Origins contact chains. The Twinshot arc is really fun, but I'd rather have some other people to go to once in a while. =/

Not really a fan of Safeguard mishes either, so I wish there were more varied ways of opening up the contacts. Right now, it's pretty limited until you hit a certain level.

(Plus I seriously miss Galaxy. That was my all-time fav place to go for starting a new alt.)
  8. This happened to me on my Crab Spider. Every single slot was broken and unchangeable.

One of the slots I managed to fix by simply reverting the gun option to the standard Arachnos version, rather than Custom.

Another slot, I selected "Bare" as the costume set and completely wiped out everything.

The last one was more tricky and to be honest, I don't have a clue what exactly fixed it. =/ I tried everything from choosing "Bare" to the weapons change, to reselecting every single slot as something new and different, or just a different Costume set. No luck.

I did manage to at least narrow down some of the pieces that seemed problematic. Any customization options on the Crab Spider backpack, the Arach weapons, and the Roman costume set from the ITF run, as well as using glasses/goggles. Once I changed my custom colored crab spider backpack to the default colors, I was then able to save the changes.

I'm noticing that all my alts that have the Roman set in a slot are messed up and I have to fix them. Argh.

    Invalid parts?

The problem is, the only indicator is next to the "Head" selection. Upon opening up that section, there is no other indicator telling me where the invalid part is. I've tried changing every single option found under the "Head" Selection to something new/different and it makes no difference. I no longer have anything on that costume slot but a face selection and a hairstyle and a makeup choice. No mask, hat or helmet, yet my costume remains the same after accepting the changes.

I'm officially frustrated and confused here and the fact that it keeps charging me such a high cost for a failed change is ridiculous.

Edit: I guess I'll put in a ticket and hope for the best.

Has there been any word on this bug so far? =/

I just took my crab spider and went Rogue on her, but it keeps giving me this error on every costume slot except for the one I switched sides on. I try to make changes (despite not knowing *which* part of the head slot is invalid - there is no indication other than the price to change in red), the game is taking my influence, but the changes do not show up in game at all.

Just tried to change my belt, which had no red price indicator next to it, to another color and it came out the same as the old one as well.

I'm loving everything about this event except that the new ToT timers allow griefers on Invincible to click multiple doors quickly and then tow giant crowds of 52s and 53s through everyone else trying to ToT.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, this is super annoying. My hubbie and I kept getting wiped out by the spawns of someone +6 levels above us in PO. He'd wait until we clicked and was fighting, then he'd run over and click our door and run away. Rinse, repeat. Complete jerk. He followed us for quite a while and caused us to wipe several times. I should have petitioned him.

Edit: By the way, did anyone else have a problem with the bombs disappearing and re-appearing? This happened to every bomb we attacked last night in Cap Au, usually when the bombs were at about half-health, requiring them to be re-targeted when they came back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've had it happen several times today, it seems to have something to do with a Stalker ASing the bomb. The times it happened to mem, a Stalker had ASed the bomb directly prior to it happening. I think the stalker's AS had some oddball effect on the bomb target.

Can anyone verify a Stalker AS prior to the bomb vanishing (and it appears to drop back down from the top of the screen when it reappears).

    [/ QUOTE ]

This doesn't have anything to do with Stalkers/Hide/AS. It happens when the server lag increases, both red side and blue side. What you're seeing is the bomb animation being replaced by a new one --> Red to Yellow to Green. Usually it happens so fast you don't notice it, but when zone lag increases, it suddenly becomes visible to the eye. This happened to me a lot blue side last night on Justice, and not a stalker in sight.

Don't need this personally as all my characters get mucho Inf just from regular play and marketing, plus I even got a Respec Recipe drop yesterday on my Crabbie, but I'm all for more options.

    Thank you guys.
  14. QR

Very nice. Good to know those helms are available via vet rewards and having two vet powers, also good.
  15. Have to add my vote to adding playtime codes. It's getting more and more difficult to find playtime cards where I live. Only one store carries them anymore and they only ever have one in stock at any given time, plus it seems to be random as to whether or not they order in the 30 day or 60 day.

Driving 2 hours one way to the 'big city' is not an option with gas prices. Ugh.

I realize why this happens... temporary work arounds to get you past the "real" problem until it's fixed are standard practice in the manufacturing world where I work. And I'm glad we can help ourselves now instead of waiting on outside help to keep going. But I still gotta say it.

Are you serious? We're getting a command to get us out of a bug instead of fixing the bug? Come on people... that's like McDonalds putting a 3rd drive-thru window up where we can exchange the food they gave us for what we really ordered.

OK.. that's it.. . Keep up the good work Dev's.

    Question :
Are you still getting the sync bug?

There *was* additional work done to resolve this issue (in addition to giving players the ability to use the "/sync" command.)

We are monitoring the forums and in-game petitions to see whether the issue has been resolved or improved.

EDIT Addition: If you have experienced the sync issue, I would really appreciate it if you could file a Tech Support ticket to see if your information turns up something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Both my daughters have been bitten by sync issues in the last 24 hours, but nothing like the sync issues we've had before. Their problem was they'd move, then immediately snap back to where they logged/zoned in. No matter where they moved, they'd be pulled right back. Not the normal sort of rubberbanding. /Sync fixed that right up and no other issues were hard.

Seems hover/flight needs re-re-tweaking. Flew into the train and upon exiting the train in a new zone Cerebrawl is vibrating like he's having siezures.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Flight or Hover on?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Happens to all my flight toons when zoning with fly activated.
  18. I'm thinking that ambush was there before, IIRC. I know that on my last run of the ITF, the leader warned us that there would be some Khelds waiting there, but there weren't that time. Might be a buggy spawn that some see and others don't?
  19. QR

Lost one slot as well. I've been meaning to delete some old toons I never play anymore, but I fear if I do that, I'll lose the other free slot as some others have reported to have happened to them.

I haven't specifically noticed more running myself since 12 hit the servers and I do spam the Weaken combo a lot on my DB'ers. One thing I did notice though was that enemies are more quick to disengage from melee when you charge in and run a short distance away to strike at you from range. CoT Casters are the most noticeable for me with Freak Stunners/Juicers also flying off to range lots.

Actually, I take that back. Snakes do seem to be running more than normal. I noticed that while leveling my VEAT. Rikti Guardians seem more skittish than usual, but that's the extent of my experience so far.
  21. Yes! to the RPG branching style dialog! I've been wanting this for a while now. Now I really can't wait for Issue 12.
  22. Wow!! Thank you so much! The price is much cheaper than I'd expected and we get free slots to boot! You guys rock! Amazing news. ^.^

It's the simple things like this that make me love this game. All you guys on the team are so great.

    D: nooooo!!! Don't say that!!

Without BU, Dwarf form in PB's is gonna be horrible for damage against high damage resist enemies. (Not that it's stellar with BU, but at least it helps against Rikti.)

Thanks for the complete list. Interesting to see who's come and gone over the years of the game.

Also, you guys rock for putting up with all the nonsense on the forums. Seriously.
