[/ QUOTE ] Is Ice/EM Blaster still a good PvP build?

nope.

The word previously given, is that any bonuses for successful challange type settings, would be countered by a comparable penalty for failing said challange.
5 bonus merits for a successful MSTF (total of 43), would be matched by -5 merits (33) if you tried and failed
[/ QUOTE ] I love this idea! But let's take it a step further and allow you to wager merits on multiple challenges. -
Again, I'm not opposed to the idea. I like more options, so /signed.
But why is this a big deal? It takes only a few minutes of time. -
I have no problem adding more options, but you probably could have visited both contacts in the time it took you to write your wall of text.

Sometimes I wonder if people go out of their way to be rude. Come on. Sure, you can disagree with the idea, I do, but you don't have to be all "THIS IDEA SUX" or "YOU'RE A MORON OMG" about it. You can word your opinion differently.
[/ QUOTE ] Well this is nothing more than an anti farming thread in disguise. The OP could have just said that from the beginning instead of lying. I understand two wrongs don't make a right, but the OP brought this upon himself. -
I think my first 50 was around 400 hours. It would have been longer if it weren't for the Sewer Trial's massive XP.
-
About how long does this one usually take?
-
[ QUOTE ]
Everyone saying badge farming and XP farming are the same, you're ridiculously wrong and you know it. Badges are completely cosmetic and serve no gameplay purpose, giving no unfair advantage over non-farmers. XP is of course the total opposite.
[/ QUOTE ] The intent of the player is the same though. -

I changed that build up to get a little bit better end management.

I don't like my fillers holding up the start of the mission with "gather"
[/ QUOTE ] I don't even bother gathering around unless I'm about to do something like take on an AV. I don't even try to get the team to gather when I play my rad defender, I just attempt to hit as many people as possible with AM. I would do the same thing on my emp defender with his auras, but I deleted him because I would rather get shot in the head then be an emp. -
I think the OP should drop Elude and pick up Dark Consumption since I don't really see any other powers that would be good to drop. OP could drop Touch of Fear, but I'm assuming he picked it up because he wanted it.
-
Ice/EM. It is by far the fastest soloing character I have made.
-
You are going to need Dark Consumption for that build. Your end usage is way too high for the amount of recovery you have.
Practiced Brawler only needs two slots to be perma, less if you get some recharge bonuses or hasten.
Combat Jumping doesn't need an end reducer in it. It only saves you 0.02 end/sec. If you want to save more endurance stick it in tough or weave instead.
I never made an SO build for my DM/SR, so that is about all the help I can give you. But I feel the three suggestions I made are really important.
Also, I don't think you need Elude either. -

Quad box it.

[ QUOTE ]
Weird Al contacts the artists he parodies and GETS THEIR PERMISSION IN ADVANCE.
[/ QUOTE ] But if I understand correctly, he doesn't have to. My understanding is parody is very much considered fair use. -

I tend to stay out of corporate forums and the quality of responses in this thread go further to reinforce my reasoning for staying out of them.
[/ QUOTE ] No, you tend to stay out of forums like this because you can't handle people disagreeing with you.
[/ QUOTE ]
On the contrary, I have a very open mind... and that is the problem... instead of a rational discussion all that I have seen for the most part is flames and trashing of a really good person.
[/ QUOTE ] I've seen the flaming too. And I've seen claims made by the OP with absolutely zero evidence shown. And since these claims are unusual(a GM telling somebody they have to delete a character over a costume violation), evidence should be provided.
Because without evidence the claim lacks credibility. It really comes across as someone misunderstanding what they were told or somebody flat out lying.
Also the fact that the character has been around for five years is irrelevant. -
Cool, thanks for the info. Now I know witch Shard TF I can solo(never done one before).

This is precisely why Congress enacted a DMCA safe harbor and takedown-putback process. The safe harbor protects Internet service providers (such as NCSoft), and the takedown-putback process protects Internet service users (such as City of Heroes players) from bogus copyright claims.
And really, what could be more bogus than copyright claims spammed by third parties (i.e. griefers) until the petition lottery serves up a quick-to-generic GM? No due process involved at any point, either; nobody who knows a damn thing about copyright law ever puts a finger on a button.
This will not be the last time NCSoft's decision not to use the DMCA safe harbor will bite either them or us in the you-know-what.
[/ QUOTE ] Marvel and Cryptic/NCSoft settled a lawsuite, and we don't know what the terms are. So the DMCA could be meaningless(and I bet it is) for cases like these. -
I know Dr. Q needs at least four people to complete because you ahve to click four glowies at once. Do any of the other Shard TF have this issue?

And this is where you jump the shark. You accuse people of "hating healers" and point to Empaths who do the exact opposite, but equally stupid thing, to support your position that "a healer is helpful".
Most people who hate healers aren't saying that healing is bad and should be avoided. I hate healers, and I know the value of a heal and expect a heal to be used when the time comes to use it. I hate people who do NOTHING but SPAM heals endlessly.
It's really that simple.
[/ QUOTE ]
The trouble is you are arguing with phantoms. So far in this thread no one has said they think a player who stands in the back and only heals is pulling their weight. The closest you can get is someone who said that he'd prefer a Empath who turned on auto aura to one who turned on auto blasts, which is kind of like saying he prefers skinning his knee to getting a splinter.
If there are people who believe in pacifist healers who exist, they are either laying low, avoiding this thread, or not interested posting. Regardless, inventing them out of people who use the word "healer" while explaining that they do not think it means "only healing" is fruitless.
[/ QUOTE ] You're actually quoting _Laxx_, not me. Not a big deal, just pointing it out.
I'll take a healer(the bad kind) almost anytime I'm doing normal PvE missions. I'll just use them as perma-fillers. -
I just did the Freaklympics for the first time ever using Ouroboros, and it was fantastic. I'm not really sure how I went so long without doing it before, though I suspect the Citadel TF, Croatoa, and Striga have a lot to do with that. It was an interesting story, with a really cool last mission. Anyone else find that story arc extremely fun?
I'm currently going back and doing all the story arcs with my main(MunkiLord), what are some other really good arcs I should try? I know all about Faultline and the other zone contained arcs. What are some of yalls favorites? -
As long as the team is doing fine, I don't care what any particular person does. I personally find it stupid to expect somebody to play a certain way.
