IMO, the only person that deserves to constantly ask about SB is a stone tank.

[/ QUOTE ] They can ask all they want, but any player(regardless of AT) that demands or needs speed boost is a bad player. Period.

[/ QUOTE ]

Do I NEED it on my stone tank? Absolutely not... I built my char with the idea that a kin wouldn't always be available and therefore have a good IO build setup that gives me +run and +rech to the point where I can get by without it. Is it nice when given, absolutely. While leveling did I always have the extra set bonuses I have now... and potentially needed a kin to manage everything on high performance teams. Yes I did at one point otherwise I couldn't guarantee I would hold everything.

Assuming every single stone tank in existence has both the knowledge and currency available to offset the penalties enough to not NEED SB otherwise they are a 'bad' player is just as bad as the people who claim that if you have sb and don't use it on every single person in the group at all times you are a 'bad'
player.

You can't have it both ways and claim that just because its your char and you build it your way doesn't make you bad as a kin, but then fault another class for doing the same. Particularly when it's a hell of a lot harder and more expensive to properly build a stone tank that doesn't need outside buffs than it is to either select and use sb, or don't.

Please keep in mind, I feel for the kins. They are demanded to give buffs and as a former defendaholic I fully understand what that is like. I am fully appreciative of them and always say thank you when they are able to fit sb for me into their attack cycle. I would never demand a kin buff me, or kick one just because they were in my group and either didn't have sb or didn't use it.

[/ QUOTE ] I disagree. If you(general you) need a certain buff to be able to play your character, you are a bad player. I mean it. I'm not saying somebody is dumb or hopeless, just that relying on other people to be able to play your character shows a lack of skill and understanding.

If you(again general you) can't play your stone tank because you don't get speed boost, you are the problem. There is nobody else to blame
2. Yeah, I couldn't fit them in initially and I put that build together quickly. If I were to go back and tweak it I'm sure I could get them all in there.
3. Do yall think anything could compete with a Purpled out Fire/Elec?

I came up with this perma hasten build:

If DPS is the only thing you're looking at, what could possibly compete with it? Talking ST here, cuz otherwise Archery would be a factor.
4. I like the idea you had of adding a -regen or -res component to their attacks. It would have the benefit of tanks gradually doing more damage to hard targets and add a ton of value to teams.
5. [ QUOTE ]
IMO, the only person that deserves to constantly ask about SB is a stone tank.

[/ QUOTE ] They can ask all they want, but any player(regardless of AT) that demands or needs speed boost is a bad player. Period.
6. [ QUOTE ]
I don't agree with that, you take an unbuffed Tank & Brute on an ITF, and the brute will faceplant every single mission unless it's stone, and even then it can only last so long.

[/ QUOTE ] Unless they have an IO build. Then they can survive the entire TF. The only problems my Scrapper has is Rom the final time, and that is only because of the auto hit nictus. A similar built brute will do even better because of the extra hit points.
7. MunkiLord

Feed my eyes!

I agree. Something like that, while on the surface seems minor, would add a ton to the immersion.
8. Santorican, what is your goal for you DM/SR? I ask because I think you will have major issues if you wanna solo AVs.

IMO, your end consumption is way too high. I use 0.74 end/sec and in an AV fight I usually need to use DC and Conserve Power to keep going non stop. You use more endurance than that with conserve power active, and it's only gonna be active a little less than half the time.
9. [ QUOTE ]
I don't exemplar much at all, so I'd be starting at level 47. I usually don't even have a plan in place at that point. But good point for those that exemplar regularly. If you can afford it, and you want, say, level 35 set IOs on your final build, by all means start slottng at 32.

[/ QUOTE ] That makes sense. I built my Scrapper to keep most(still working ona few) set bonuses all the way down to level 30. I like to solo Citadel spawned for 4 then have the other three characters(all four accounts belong to me and my roommate) in to door sit for the AV mish. 160 merits.
10. I'm going to assume you mean ST(single target) damage.

I have no numbers to back me up, but I don't see how anything could compete with a blaster. My guess would be Fire/Elec or Fire/EM would be the highest.

Other ATs have more survivability, but from a pure damage standpoint, blasters are king.
11. My vote goes to AoE heavy blasters. Endurance and survivability are gonna be issues for most builds at that level. Might as well overwhelm them with damage.

Arch/MM would work well for this. Fistful of Arrows, Explosive Arrow, and Psychic Scream are all available for the TF. Psychic Scream is especially for the clockwork missions.
12. If you're gonna buy sets to exemplar well, then you can start at your target exemplar level. The only issue with doing it that way is having enough slots to properly manage endurance.
13. [ QUOTE ]
you were running unnecessarily quickly into battle

[/ QUOTE ] That's what scrappers were made for
14. I run into the most problems in the second mission of the ITF. I don't like to wait for the ambushes, so most of the time I just run from cyst to cyst. Most of the team usually dies while I solo the mission. That pisses people off sometimes.
15. [ QUOTE ]
And advising people to kick non-team players? Just because they don't use powers you prefer them to? Isn't the idea of kicking others for such reasons something you admonished someone in another thread for? [found here] Yet you now consider that an option?

[/ QUOTE ] You mean he is being hypocritical? I'm shocked
16. [ QUOTE ]
"I don't have SB.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't take it either.
17. [ QUOTE ]

So, who else tends to dictate the group's speed on their scrapper?

[/ QUOTE ] Why in the world would I let 7 fillers dictate the speed for me?
18. [ QUOTE ]
I usually don't play any characters without the combo.

[/ QUOTE ] I usually only play melee characters. I consider my high level blasters at least as much melee characters as ranged.

[/ QUOTE ] I can't fault you for that. No doubt that is good for your health.

Put that in your beer bong and smoke it.

[/ QUOTE ] Ok, that sounds gross. You do know you don't smoke from a beer bong right?
20. Werner, great post. I agree with everything you typed. But I'm willing to wager you're banging your head against a brick wall.
21. [ QUOTE ]
I guarantee you that chasing IOs is keeping a subset of the playerbase engaged and hanging around.

[/ QUOTE ] Like me. Don't get me wrong, I love playing this game. But if it weren't for inventions, I wouldn't be playing anymore. The invention system added so much depth to the game for me. As far as I'm concerned, ED and Inventions are the two best things that have ever happened to this game.
