I believe there was a 'pet nerf' way back so at least noe there are only 3 imp and not 3 spawns of 3 [9].

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was way back in Issue 5. Issue 5 hit in August of 2005. It was also applied to all controller pets as well as to Dark Servant (not Warshade Dark Extraction, funnily enough). In return, Controllers got containment.

Now for the OP's concern: The problem with nerfing Fire/Kin is that it's only the combination of the two that's really overpowered. Fire Control is not overpowered by itself, and Kinetics is not overpowered by itself, so which part do you nerf?
  2. I wouldn't touch my Warshade. I love the snazzy purple.
  3. Yeah, if anyone ever asks me not to get buffed, I'll ask them whether or not they know exactly what it is the buff does for them. If they say they do, I will ask again, just to make sure. Then I'll go from component to component to really make sure they know what it's doing for them.

Then, depending on how well the team's doing, I'll accept or deny their request. I'm more lax with Speed Boost because some people just aren't used to controlling their characters with it, and a tense environment is not a good environment to get used to it in.

Bubbles, though? Why on Earth would anyone not want bubbles?

Hey, do you want to be nigh-invincible?
    No.

  4. Aw, you got to do some lampshading before I did. Yup, this thread has literally gone down in flames.
  5. MrQuizzles

    Is it possible?

All-human got a lot better not too long ago. It's definitely viable. My all-human shade's been coming along rather nicely, much easier than leveling my tri-form shade back in I3.
  6. I mostly got around it by instead leveling up a human-only Warshade. They're not painful to play in the lower levels any more. They're actually rather good.

Why do they even let trial account users send email?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Last I knew, they don't.

But yeah, I logged in on a character I hadn't been on with in a while and had 200 of the damn things. I didn't bother deleting them.
  8. It'll only do it for 4 seconds, so even if you could, it's not worth it.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
    Worth nothing to me

Looking at what the card does seems like nothing.

I never got into that game.( never got into any card games for that matter) $400 for a small card is crazy IMO. To each their own I guess.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ripping up a mox ruby is like throwing half an once of gold into the deepest part of the ocean. You can't buy anything with either of them, but they're worth actual money to actual people.

So yeah, you threw half an ounce of gold into the ocean because it wasn't worth anything to you.

It'd probably be easier to have an option to suppress all non-self buff graphics.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. Why wait for issue 16? I'd love to have this option now. I don't really care what color it is, I prefer to see my character that I spend alot of time on looking just how I want, rather than a flaming ice cube with a forcefield. I hate when whe people buff me without asking.

A simple on/off option for non-self buffs would be great. Everyone else can see it, I just don't have to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because it's not really simple. The hard part is differentiating powers that are coming from yourself and powers coming from other sources and telling the graphics engine that. Then there becomes the problem of differentiating these unwanted buffs from debuffs that you probably want to know are on you.

Maybe I'm in the wrong thread, but when someone claims that color shifting doesn't count as power customization I imagine we can't make custom heroes because we also can't put a foot on our face.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So we need to get the Spore creature creator in here, too?

Don't get me wrong, Id really get a laugh out of the idea of making a male thermal corruptor called... I don't know, maybe Prescilla, or something, and changing the colors of his secondary set to pink and... well maybe a slightly different pink... and then throwing pink flamey mockery on some of the player base.

But I won't. There are a lot of reasons for this, but the bottom line is, it's going to be more destructive in the long run, and while it might be funny, I don't really feel I have the right to damage other people's hard one recreation time.

But with I16, it looks a lot like someone COULD do this.

Pink flames, black force fields, blinding white sonic armor? Irritating people, damaging their game experience or causing eye injuries (ok maybe that's a bit over the top)

Some people will make a carrear out of griefing those in zones with things like that.

Let us select and remove granted buffs in the buff bar, and the problem will be substantially solved. Putting a timer on re-granting a buff thats been removed will solve even more of it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or simply have a prompt like with Recall Friend or Mystic Fortune so you can choose whether to be granted that buff or not. This option can of course be toggled in the Options menu.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pretty much everyone would turn it off and leave it that way. You receive a ludicrous number of buffs from various things during normal play. It would also be difficult to differentiate between buffs and debuffs since there's currently no mechanism for it. You'd probably have to go hard code it in on every buff power.

It'd be more trouble than it's worth, is what I'm getting at.

    5. TP in to make two Rommies...OK...not reaaaaallly a tactic, just fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can you explain this one a little bit please?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you can port into range of Rommie before he turns into NICTUS ROMMIE!, then you get bugged version of regular rommie who you can slap silly as he has no support and IIRC no attacks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's more than just being in range, you have to physically push him out of the way with your character model.
  14. Do one with Diabolique

She's one of the few I truly could never solo.
  15. MrQuizzles

    Customization?!

All the trials are completely-unique, single-instance experiences. They're some of the most interesting challenges in the game.

I really do wish there were more of them.
  16. Beware the purple patch. Your henchmen will have a fair bit of trouble with it.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
I want Melee Attack/Buff. Defenders have Ranged/Buff so why not go Melee? Keep the damage modifiers and damage cap low if necessary.

    I want Katana/Kinetics
    I want Super Strength/Sonic
    I want Mace/Radiation
    I want Martial Arts/Empathy

    [/ QUOTE ]

This, many times this. I've wanted this for the longest time. Dominators just don't do it. They don't have the same sort of buffing/debuffing goodness that Defender primaries provide. Let's face it, Defender primaries contain some of the, flat out, most effective powers in the game. Pairing it with melee attacks would be heavenly.

Heck, I'd even take Assault Set/Buff or Buff/Assault Set. I'd even settle for Blaster secondaries as my attack set.
  18. MrQuizzles

    Customization?!

    [ QUOTE ]
They would NOT be handled by the same people.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh yeah they would. Hue shifting involves both a lot of artwork...work (art work?) and some engine work on top of that.

Why not do both at once? 'cause it'd take a helluva lot of extra work.

I have no idea what Benumb or Heat Loss look like. That says something

    [/ QUOTE ]

Benumb looks like next to nothing. You'd probably never notice it if someone cast it on something that wasn't you.

An inherent power that has as much effect on defenders as Containment has on controllers is likely to be just as broken as containment is for controllers. How does "easily-attainable doubling of all final buff and debuff numbers" sound?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Sounds like a good justification for Castle to double the recharges and halve the durations of all our good powers. Remember, Containment came at a cost.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A cost that everyone paid but only Controllers got anything in return for. *shakes fist*

    New WS questions

The dwarf mire was changed once upon a time. It used to be very much like the human Sunless Mire. It did little damage and had a very long recharge. It was changed to be more like an AoE attack that buffed you, and you should think of it like that.

The damage that can be dealt by Dwarf Mire alone is, quite frankly, ridiculous. It takes a lot of enhancing to get it to such a state, though.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
The scars are still pretty fresh over this one

The pet recharge nerf was handled by them in the same way they have gone about handling other recent fallouts in this game. Not well.

It left a fair number of people feeling they were either being lied to or that information was being omitted for some other reason.

Straight up lied to, or a lie of omission. Thank goodness for the unwavering dev apologists who got us all through that one

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pfft, I'm still bitter about Dark Servant not being given an infinite duration. We're "not controllers", so we don't get a buff to reconcile the nerf that we got because we were similar to controllers. We got the exact same nerf as them, so why couldn't we get the exact same buff?! If my fluffy can't be permanent, then I want 3 of him again*.

Let's not even get on to the topic of how Warshades dodged that bullet entirely.

*admittedly, this was beyond ridiculously overpowered
