New WS questions

Got my new WS up to 21 today. I am loving the versatility. I was ecstatic when I hit 20. I morphed to dwarf (hehehe dwarf morph)
and found only 2 actual attacks. I played around in dwarf mode for awhile, but wasnt very impressed. The dwarf mire only seems to last for 7-10 seconds. I'm wondering, do you tp in, dwarf mire, shift to human and mire, then go nova? Is it feasible to do it as only a dual build? Could you tp in as a human, mire then shift to nova?

I'm just wondering if I should stick it out with dwarf. The lack of attacks is eh, I can't even explain. Any advice is appreciated.

Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?

Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

Dwarf mire does only last 10seconds but it is nice. Generally it's just like you stated: tp in, mire, shift to human, mire, shift to nova while taking a hop backwards and destroy all. You can go just human/nova but dwarf's higher resists will soak up the alpha that may kill you in human form.

I do like dwarf though for the heal, extra resistance and of course mire. I'd say stick it out for a bit till you can get Eclipse then you can decide whether or not you want to drop dwarf. When you get Eclipse you can tp into the group, hit eclipse then the aformentioned combo.

I'd also like to point out that the dwarf heal IS an attack. It's a clone of the dark melee power... Which I personally like slotting 1 acc/3 dam/2 heal. With the dwarf version I slot it 1 acc/3 heal but that's cause my dwarf form is my "oh crud I'd better turtle up" power... and in such cases there may not be a handy corpse or six to heal off of.

Whether or not you keep Black Dwarf is really something you'll have to decide for yourself. It's very good at what it does, which is provide you a form that's very survivable and proof against mezzers. With heavy slotting and IOs, you can get it fairly scrappy, but it's not a form optimized for damage - that's your Dark Nova. Black Dwarf is in many ways an inverse of that form, strong where Nova is weak and vice versa.

As for the Mires, if you time it correctly you can stack them together to get a very powerful buff for a short while, but the Dwarf Mire more often will be useful to buff up your damage output while in Dwarf and to help you maintain aggro if you're playing tank for a team.

Personally, I love the Dwarf form. I'd recommend playing with it for at least a few levels before deciding if you want to keep it.

The dwarf mire was changed once upon a time. It used to be very much like the human Sunless Mire. It did little damage and had a very long recharge. It was changed to be more like an AoE attack that buffed you, and you should think of it like that.

The damage that can be dealt by Dwarf Mire alone is, quite frankly, ridiculous. It takes a lot of enhancing to get it to such a state, though.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm gonna stick it out with dwarf a few more levels. Two more questions now. How would you reccomend slotting dwarf and its attacks, SO's or base IO's, and does anyone take the damage aura in human form? I'm a big fan of damage. Absolutely huge fan.

Standard slotting for Dwarf form (Black and White) is three Resistance enhancements.

Slotting for the powers changes depending on how often you plan to use Black Dwarf. If you're going to spend a good amount of time in it or fill the role of main tank you're gonna want to have Black Dwarf Strike and Smite slotted with one Accuracy and three Damage. I use Black Dwarf Drain as a heal rather than a means of dealing damage so I'd recommend an Accuracy, two Heals and an EndRedux. Black Dwarf Mire used to benefit greatly from Recharge Reductions but nowadays you should be more focused on EndRedux and Accuracy.

As for whether or not should pick up Orbiting Death, that's dependant on how much time you'll be spending in human form. A TriFormShade won't get much benefit from it since you'll be spending a significantly less amount of time in human form than a BiForm or Human Only build.

Did black dwarf drain get the same buff as Siphon life did from Dark melee? Just tryin to hammer things out in my mind.
