  1. I have an ice / dark melee tank which I'm happy with. I was looking to pair the to-hit debuffs on the attacks with the high defense of the armor. Being able to grab some health from an enemy with siphon life helps out a lot since it recharges much faster than hoarfrost.

I read somewhere else in the forums that there are 3 "schools" of tanking: defense, resistance, and health. Pursuing more than just one of these three can lead to more versatility as a tank. Resistance is pretty much out the door for an ice tank with the exception of cold damage. So that leaves health and regeneration...

I used to be able to run 2 CoH clients at the same time, now Im worried to try it. hopefully something will get worked out.
Same here. For the past two weeks the client has been crashing on me. CPU usage is higher than usual (usual as in what i've been running for months on end). I have an AMD Phenom II X6 1090 with 16GB of memory and CPU usage is at about 50% with one instance of the client running. With just the client running i crash every hour or two.

Last month I was able to run two clients in windowed mode, a virtualbox session running boinc, plus hulu or vlc, all concurrently for as long as I wanted across 3 monitors with usage running around the 90% mark.

Now, two clients alone will take it to near 100%.

Something is amiss but quite honestly I can't say I changed much of anything with my computer.

But heck, if it looks interesting go for it; maybe it'll be just what you're looking for and you'll enjoy the set. For me, and for my buddy, it was too slow and cumbersome.
do you think slotting the recharge speed alpha would help the playability of TA? the end redux alpha helped immensely on other toons that i have.

Ooh! can I make an ice blaster for that SG?

Ah well. Maybe I'll go to the beach or something instead and enjoy all the lovely rain.
Personally I've been gloating over the wonderfully not-ridiculously-hot-and-humid weather in the Pac NW compared to other parts of the US where I have friends.

I'm guessing there are a number of people who would love to feel a cool rain on their face given the heat.

No matter what happens someone isn't going to like the decision made. I know of some people who couldn't be around for it this weekend and will for the push back weekend. Can't pelase everyone all the time.

Thanks Paragon for nipping problems in the rear before they got to us.
    Absolutely.

And when people who don't have very flexible schedules get one chance to move things around in order to enjoy a scheduled event (in game or otherwise) and then have it rescheduled, they'll be pretty disappointed after lining things up.

Yeah "stuff" happens. Baseball games get rained out, football players go on strike, you eat a bad calamari burrito and have to stay home ...

Not delivering on what you say you're going to do, even with good reason, will always leave some negativity.

    Double XP Plans

My level "goals" are usually 25, 32, 38, or 50.

    25 for the ouro portal.
32 for the primary tier 9 power.
38 for the secondary tier 9 power.
and then the long slog to 50 ...

For double xp, any toon above 38 would have a bit more priority. Until I stop having fun. Then I move to another AT.

EDIT: unless of course I have to work since they moved the weekend on us ...
  9. I've had a lot of problems crashing with my 5850 ATI card. But I'm running 11.6 without too much of a problem so far (including MS raids). Digging around I've found there were 2 issues that contributed to crashing, depending on the game.

One was having Aero turned on under Win7.
The other was having more than one monitor (refresh rate sync problems or something like that).

I wasn't going to give up my dual monitor setup so I've turned off Aero and just accepted a crappier looking desktop. That seemed to work. Pushing my luck I turned Aero back on and killed the transparency. That seems to be holding up so far.

    Hope that helps someone.

As a low level toon, I'd be totally annoyed if my lvl 50 self decided to pull me into the future to help with the likes of say Lord Recluse. After something like that I think my lvl 50 self would get a nasty gram in the mail postmarked several years earlier.

Coulda made a boat load of sales
They could also tie the veteran rewards into the highly speculative CoH2 that seems to pop up as a topic every so often...

    Death penalty

I think it would be interesting to see cosmetic changes to your costume for a death penalty. That black eye you have to sport for a week screams "Battlemaiden had her way with you." Maybe even a temporary title change on your toon that spoke of who kicked you into next Tuesday. It could question the wisdom of using that cyborg booster pack self destruct button...

Costume degradation that you have to pay a nominal fee to Icon to fix would be funny too. Maybe that Kheldian blood is near impossible to get out of the spandex ... Soon you'll be looking like the Lost scroungers.

I usually SB anyone on a team who has half their endurance or less... And get called lazy for it. Normally I'd SB any stone tank until his armor ran ahead of him, or anyone who asked (nicely). I stopped playing my kin because of too many rude people with an overreaching sense of entitlement. It just wasn't fun anymore.

I have no want to shake this disease ...
  15. Flambeaux, Hollow Point, Silent Blade, etc., (I forget the names of the others ... Overdrive, Blast Furnace?) They all have costumes that look like they were made from the pieces available to players.

Have players design costumes for them in a contest and implement the winning entries into the game.

Winner also gets whatever prize ...

    Thank you

I didn't see much about the Admiral Sutter TF. I just finished it and I have to say that it was a really fun ride.

That TF is sort of in the background with all the incarnate stuff going on. I thought I should tip my hat to the devs for it.

I have this problem as well, when trying to access Ouroboros missions from Ouroboros. Accessing the mission from a Pillar of Ice and Flame in a base doesn't seem to have any problems though. (ATI 5850 with 10.12 drivers)

    *smacks forehead*

I thought there was a level limit to entering the RWZ ... Thanks for feeding this costume changing junkie.

  20. Isn't the lowbie death run through Steel Canyon a standard part of the character creation process? It's the part after you choose a name.

It usually ends with me begging my wife to port me over to Icon...
