Name Rush on the VIP server?

Does anyone else think there will be a name rush on the new VIP server when it opens up?

Think about it a brand new server with no names taken on it. I'm going to have to make a list of all the names I've wanted but never could get. That and make sure I have the day off so that I can insure that my global name doesnt get taken by anyone but me on that server. Actually thats a disturbing thought because I know there are some people who have taken the time to insure that their favorite character's name is taken by them on every server. Golden Girl for example could have be taken by someone wanting to ransom the name. Its childish but online anonymity gives some people the courage to act like jerks.

I know that I plan to be making "myself" in that server as well as one other name I've always wished I could have.

The Golden Girl idea might be a good one, though, if you're really strapped for influence.

I'll probably reserve my global name and a few others that I already had and lost over the years.

Not too pressed about it though, if I don't get 'em, I don't get 'em. I'm gonna try really hard to make sure I at least get my global there.

Ehhh, it's fair game if somebody gets a name I want before I get there. I don't really plan to play on the server exclusively or anything, but I'm likely to make a StJ/WP or EA Scrapper version of my namesake there.

I may have a little more grounds to contest someone stealing my primary character's name than most, but what's the point of getting bent out of shape about it? Especially when the only reason people would grab a known poster on the board's name would be to troll us... getting upset just validates their actions, so meh, whatever.

I would like to have my global name as a character there (unsure what powersets, but a blaster, obviously). I have it reserved on lowbie throwaway alts on a couple of servers and as an active character on Liberty IIRC.

But not really bad enough to take a day off work to get it.

I don't plan on name camping either. I was just saying that the possibility exists. Its why I'll be taking the day off to make sure I get my global.

Edit: Also taking the day off because I want to play a Beam rifle blaster and I am not a patient person.

You are all too late because I have already snagged all the good names on the VIP server. However for anyone willing to make a contribution (alcohol in nature) to the Church of the Drunken Squirrel I will be willing to free up a name or two for them.

I'm sure I'm going to have to compete with another player for the name Clave Dark 5.

If anyone wants to take a name I've used on another server, they're welcome to it, I never reroll.

Because of this, I bet the Devs will not tell us when this is going live....can you imagine the bottleneck with everyone and their dear sainted granny trying to load onto the new server all at once????
