    Why bother?

Buddy, go back to lurking. Seriously.
  2. There's a "Paragon Travel" agency on the bus route I take to get to work. If only....
  3. I can relate to that death-clock feeling. But I'm still logging in and playing, because for me, in the end, it's the best way to keep the spirit alive.

In a weird way, it's made playing even more special than it was before. I took City of Heroes for granted, once. Now that I can't, every moment counts.

That said, I spend all day at work alt-tabbing to the forums, checking for news of a reprieve.

    You are not alone.
  4. Started a WM/SD Scrapper. Went straight to number one in playtime. Every hour is bittersweet, though.

The idea was that when you wanted to be stealthy, Entropic Aura would not alert enemies.

I haven't tested myself, but I've been told it doesn't work, not even on Scrappers (Brutes are unreliable at testing it since one of the Fury powers alerts enemies to your presence, anyway).

So it's just a function of the in game mechanics being reflected in Mid's. Phew. My true Global Recharge including whatever Entropic Armor is providing is what appears when I turn off Energy Cloak.

    Thanks Trickshooter!
  6. Thanks! I'm registered to the gills now.
  7. Hi Diellan,

I was going to report what appears to be a bug through your link in your sig, but registration seems to be disabled on the site. Or maybe I need to register elsewhere in the network?

1.959 -- Energy Armor -- Entropic Armor. When Energy Cloak is activated, it kills the recharge bonus from Entropic Armor in the totals screen. Is this working as intended?

Thanks for listening, and thanks for all your hard work.
  8. I had somewhat the same problem last night with one character, except my trays weren't cleared, but the powers were all randomly dropped in as if I had recently respecced. He'd been inactive for 40 days.

At first I thought I'd been hacked, but all my power selections were correct and my enhancements were intact. Weird.
  9. Here's the Regen character I'm working on now.

S/L is softcapped with a small purple. Or MOG, or SM. 70% Global Recharge before Hasten. I think it has perma Dull Pain with capped hit points as well. Might give you some ideas for the Regen side, anyway. I'm planning for the Recharge/Heal alpha as well.

  10. I had the same issue about a month ago. Luckily I had saved every receipt from the NCSOFT store--so unlocking my account only took about 48 hours. I too had a freak out about security--but found nothing on my home machine to suggest I had been keylogged.

The thing that puzzles me to this day is how my account could have been tampered with when I have shared my password with no one, and my computer appears clean and secure.

The only thing that occurred to me is that I log onto the forums from work often--but I'm behind a huge firewall here, and have updated virus sofware running.

    Grrrr.

  11. [QUOTE=Dark One;3295484]There's newb and then there's just plain stupid.

You get better scares with the stupid. The stupid ratchets the tension up in the audience, priming them for delicious jolts of pure horror! If everybody were smart, it would be one boring series filled with people holed up in houses talking at each other very quietly.

I had great fun watching this. We've made a standing date with our friends to catch it every Sunday night.
  12. Hi folks,

Current version of Mid's does not enhance the hold duration of this power--it stays at 18 seconds, no matter how much hold enhancement you slot. Don't think that's how it's supposed to work.

Anyone know where in the database editor I can go to fix this?

    Cheers,

This is how I plan to build mine. Just rolled him last night. Sits just over the softcap with either Combat Jumping or Hover active. Nice bit of recharge outside of Hasten (33.8%). For a titch, and I mean a titch more ranged defense, you can take Energy Punch instead of Stun, and slot another set of Mako's. I haven't decided which two of those attacks will benefit me more.

Maybe it's just a Mid's quirk. The same total percentage of recovery is showing. Grrr.

Thanks, Umbral! There's only one thing I can't figure out--but I'm guessing maybe you've done some Mid's editing to get the Performance Shifter Procs to display some average value? Making your changes to my existing build gives me 3.64end/sec, while your build displays 4. Hmmm.

Thanks again for your help. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know!

  16. Hi there Scrapper Gurus,

I had a plan, and then I played with Mid's. I lost 18 percent recharge, and some regen, but gained 22 percent defense to all positions. Naturally, I don't have any experience as to whether this is a vaild trade off.

Purples aside, is this a good approach to take? Have a look at the builds below!

I value any advice. Or a better hybridization of these two approaches.

Hmm. I don't know if I have good enough accuracy to make it worth it, but I don't want to lose the defense bonus. Chiefly, after getting my positionals in the thirties, I'm trying to shore up the global accuracy (to compensate for Touch of Death's crummy Accuracy), and looking for extra recovery. I thought the plus to hit would help with the accuracy--though 134% in Smite and Midnight Grasp isn't terrible bad.

    Thanks for the information!

  18. Planning to slot Siphon Insight in Cloak of Fear. Is the proc worth having in a toggle, (where it will roll for the 10% chance to fire every so often), or is it only designed to work on a per activation basis?

  19. QR--

Had a look at your build, Fury, trying to see exactly where you got your recharge higher than mine--noticed your build exceeds the rule of five in 5% recharge bonuses. You can lose a slot from build-up, and still keep the same amount of global recharge.

Don't know where you'd use that slot, though. And you probably already know you're over.

    Cheers,

  20. Heh. I just rolled one for the first time a few nights ago, due to the Spines look and feel changes.

Here's my planned build. It's a dream build with all the regen and recovery uniques, and I know it's going to take me a while and a f-ton of influence or merits to get there. No Anciliary Power Pool ranged attacks, so a bit less in the way of recharge here, but servicable enough under Hasten.

The only thing I wish I could do is take Barb Swipe, because I like the animation so much more than Lunge. Too bad it does such sucky damage for it's animation time. If I had room, I'd take it in addition to Lunge, for flavour. I wish they'd fix it. Grrr.

  21. Not a nerf. The first two attacks in Dark Melee have never debuffed accuracy, only ToHit--by about 5 percent.

    DM/DA IO advice.

Using Desmodos' defense build as a jumping off point, but retaining those powers I enjoy the flavour of, this is what I came up with.

While I don't have the recovery numbers that Des does, they are pretty close. I have a titch more defense to all positions, and a smidgen more recharge. I don't think I'll be able to afford this for quite awhile, but it's exciting to have something to build toward.

    Have a gander!

    DM/DA IO advice.

I have perused your guide a few times, Des. I followed the common IO slotting religiously. The builds at the end are great but you sacrificed some signature powers that I wanted to retain.

    Cheers!
