Claymore got massacred, as expected, but at least it was destroyed by another anime series.

Say, thanks for the advice. That site will come in very handy.

I'm glad I didn't, because there's a lot of good comedy anime debuting this season mixed with a lot of zombies and horror stuff.
Out of curiosity, where are you watching this stuff? Not much is coming out on DVDs these days, so I'm thinking of looking into alternative sources.
  6. I guess I miss the original "flip" hairstyle for female characters the most. The current version just looks wrong.
  7. I always train when I make a level. But that's mainly because I have a lot of characters, and it's going to be a long time before I make the next level.
  8. I tried a couple of the patrons, but I don't bother with them any more. Each patron has four arcs, and every arc ends in a non-droppable elite boss fight. I consider the patrons to be team-oriented content, and since I solo all the time these days, I avoid them.

I'm not all that fond of Grandville either, for a variety of reasons, but at least I can drop or fail almost all of the non-Patron EB fight missions in the 40s if I need to. (Dr. Forrester's fight against Silver Mantis is the exception.)

    Simple Survey

    Player Name: Mirai

    Character Stats:
I have 46 characters, including at least one of every archetype, ranging from levels 21 to 50. I like variety. My favorite character, Yukihime, is a Level 50 Magic Ice Blast/Ice Manipulation/Cold Mastery Blaster.

    1) What’s in a name? :
Some of my names are influenced by Japanese anime and manga (Yukihime, Midori Mink, Shatterer Arare, Tobineko, etc). Some are names that I commonly use in gaming (Crysandre, Gisellen, Sibrin, Risommer, etc). Other than that, I generally try to present a traditional superhero/supervillain style with my names (Glitter, Black Clover, Doctor Anomaly, Crystal Snowflake, etc).

    2) What’s in a job? :
I much prefer to play solo, so all but a few of my characters have to do well solo. I normally pick powersets and powers that excel in solo play. Naturally that means I have more scrappers than other archetypes, although I actually enjoy playing blasters the most. (Coming up with solo friendly combinations is a little trickier for blasters than scrappers.)

    3) What’s in a game?:
I like that this is a solo friendly superhero game, with good character models and graphics, and a vast array of costume possibilities. To improve it for my tastes, I would make Archvillain/Elite Boss missions more solo friendly.

    4) What’s in a story?:
My scrapper Suiren (now level 50) was my first character to get Super Jump. At level 15, while jumping through Steel Canyon, I accidentally shot past a group of high level Freakshow that appeared as an ambush for another player. I was promptly killed. That convinced me to get Stealth for that character. Several days later (at level 16), while jumping through Steel Canyon, I shot past a high level Rikti ambush group. A Rikti Drone spotted me through my Stealth, and I was promptly killed. That convinced me to respec from jumping to flight, since I wasn't fond of the jumping mechanics anyway. These days, all of my characters can fly.

    5) What’s in a friend?:
I've been in a few super groups and villain groups, but I normally prefer to make solo groups for my characters. My heroes on the Champion server are in the Forumites United group, while my villains there are in the Forumites Unleashed group. Unfortunately, those two groups are pretty much dead these days except for me.

    6) “What got you into MMOs?”
City of Heroes. That was the one. It's still my all-time favorite computer game. I'm really not into MMOs, since I'm a soloing type. However, I've also become fond of Star Trek Online.

    7) “What new MMO are you looking forward to?”
I'll probably buy DC Universe Online when it comes out.
  10. I'm all for adding warnings for those missions. Unfortunately, a lot of us made these same complaints when Ouroboros first came out, and the best we could get from the devs was a warning for one of those TFs. For some unexplained reason they're opposed to posting AV/EB warning signs for Ouroboros TFs.

But time and staffing change. Perhaps new complaints can get them to change their minds.
  11. Considering we haven't hit the first stage of player beta testing yet (they're still in "friends and family" mode), I'm assuming we're still a very long way off from launch.

Meanwhile, I think the next Sims 3 expansion is due out next week. Looking forward to that.
  12. I play arcs that I create for my characters. I usually keep an arc published just long enough for a character to complete it, so there's not much opportunity for other players to try out my arcs.

Sorry, that's not even in my top 100.

    5. Croatoa. Still my favorite zone addition.

    4. Boss -> Lieutenant feature. Comes in very handy for my soloing style.

    3. Tailors and additional costume slots.

    2. AV -> EB feature. This alone allowed me to get through the mission content in the 40s, and comes in very handy at other levels too.

    1. Mission drop feature. If I run into a nasty block to my progress, I can usually (but not always) use this to complete the mission and move on.
  14. I create arcs for my characters using the Mission Architect. The stories are just as important to me as the rewards.... but by the same token, the rewards are just as important to me as the stories. I need plot to keep me going, and I need rewards to be equivalent to what I get in the standard missions to give me the feeling that my characters are progressing at a decent pace.

Unfortunately, the recent MA changes nerfed the rewards for my most interesting stories big time. I'm having a hard time coming up with arcs that don't include captives and allies. So despite having some nifty new maps available, I haven't been using the MA lately. Hopefully the devs will make some adjustments in the near future that will inspire me to get back in the AE buildings.
  15. It will depend mainly on what I need to do to get an Incarnate. If it has a raid or other team-only requirement, then probably none of my characters will do that.

If the process is solo friendly, then I'd want my Ice/Ice/Cold blaster Yukihime to become an Incarnate. However, I might have my MA/Regen/Dark scrapper Suiren go first just to test the waters.

On the villain side, my Energy/Regen stalker Risommer would probably be the the best choice. But I'd also consider my Thugs/Dark/Soul mastermind Cerise Sinclair, depending on what the Incarnate system is like.

The Incarnate System content takes the form of some kind of zone events that happen only in the 4 new Praetroian zones.
I really really hate this zone event trend. It doesn't sound like I'll be making use of the Incarnate system.

Hopefully I'll be able to do a lot of beta testing for Going Rogue, so I can find out if it's something I'll buy. Although City of Heroes is still by far my favorite game, a lot of the team oriented stuff is beyond my deficient teaming abilities, and I don't know yet whether I'll be able to make much use of Going Rogue at all. For my purposes, it might not be worth purchasing.
  17. Post 35, my favorites are Jezebel Jones, Basse Croupier, and Hardcase. But that's mainly because I don't care for gratuitous elite boss fights. I think Technician Naylor and Dr Forrester would be much more fun for me if I didn't have to worry about Ballistas and Silver Mantis.

My least favorites are the patron arcs. I stopped doing them after the second try. Yes, that means no patron pools for me. I don't even bother with jerks like Viridian, Arbiter Leery and Number 204, and I've never done their arcs.

    No. That would be depressing.

I'm playing superheroes, not warfighters. I accept the Rikti war as the background of how the city got the way it is now, but now is the time for superhero action.

(Plus, that would be a raid style thing, and I don't do raids.)
  19. Most of my villains would like to go to a nice city and steal stuff.

Stealing stuff from other bad guys just doesn't have the same kind of appeal.

Actually, a level 29 character of mine picked up the 20-24 contact tonight. That first contact might actually be a 20-29 contact. I didn't try to start the arc though. Too busy getting badges.

From what I remember, any character between 20 and 29 should pick up a new contact. For higher level characters, you should be able to find the starting arc in Ouroboros in the 20-24 range. You'll get access to the 25-29 arc after doing the 20-24 arc. (This applies to both heroes and villains.)
  22. I don't really care about the Ultra mode. I turned down the water effects and shadows to improve performance.

I'm keeping busy chasing down all the new badges!

(When I'm done with that, I'll have start working on new MA story arcs, using some of the new maps.)
  23. Ice/Ice Blaster is still my favorite. Nice combination of ranged damage and control, and does a great job of killing bosses solo.
  24. Getting all ATs to 50 is quite an accomplishment (as long as it's not done by powerleveling).

I don't think I'll ever get my Kheldians to 50. My Peacebringer is at 28 and my Warshade is at 26. My Arachnos Soldier is also off to a slow start, still at 26 (while my Widow is doing much better at 37). I'm also going slow with my lead Corruptor, who is at 32.

My lead Dominator is doing well at 42, my lead Defender is at 46, and I have one each of the seven other ATs at 50. I'd like to get all ten of the main ATs to 50 someday, plus my Widow, but I'm just not motivated to play the Kheldians or the Arachnos Soldier much.

Gah. You're right. That sounds intensely depressing.

I think I would pass on that one.
