One Season Wonder Voting Round 1: Animation
1. Trigun
2. Invader Zim (voting against my own pick but I can not deny the goodness that is Zim)
3. Neon Genisis Evangelion
4. Freakazoid
5. Baccano!
6. Inhumanoids
7. The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot
8. The Spectacular Spiderman.
Interesting idea for the voting.
1. Trigun, as much as I hate to choose Trigun has held up much better then PoDW.
2. Afro Samurai, never got what made Zim special.
3. Claymore, another tough choice. I loved NGE and have never seen Claymore but the clips I have seen for it make me want to watch it.
4. Freakazoid, becuase he runs around in underwear.
5. Baccano!, just a more entertaining show then d & d nerds set to an 80s sitcom.
6. Martian Successor Nadesico, even as a kid I thought Inhumanoids was silly. It did not age well.
7. The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot, I really thought this was a stupid show when I first saw it when it was on air, but it sucked me in and was sad when it was cancelled.
8. Cowboy Bebop, great storytelling and a hotly debated ending what is not to love?
Shadowy Presence - Absolutely, positively worse than playing a Kheldian... --Myrmydon
1. Pirates of Dark Water. I've always found Trigun a pretty average and sometimes laborious anime. I wouldn't say I hated it, but I don't think it's all that.
2. Invader Zim. Not seen enough of Afro Samurai to judge it. It looked good, but Zim was simply awesome.
3. NGE. Superbly put together and really original for its time.
4. Freakazoid.
5. Dungeons and Dragons. I'm giving it some love as I still fondly remember some fine episodes from this corny old show.
6. Nadesico. Not a huge fan of either show, but Nadesico had some very funny moments.
7. The Big Guy and Rusty.
8. Cowboy Bebop. Sophisticated, somewhat whimsical and very original. One of the very finest anime series ever made.
1. Pirates of Dark Water
Mainly because I watched PoDW as a kid, but never really got into Trigun
2. Invader Zim
Because its very funny and awesome
3. Neon Genesis Evangelion
NGE was pretty good, whereas haven't seen the other one.
4. Outlaw Star
Oooh, very tough choice here. Freakavoid is fantastic, but... Outlaw Star is probably one of my favourite Anime series, so going with that
5. Dungeons & Dragons
Haven't seen the other but D&D was awesome and big part of my childhood
6. Inhumanoids.
Inhumanoids had some great characters and was a lot of fun.
7. Spider-Man: The New Animated Series aka MTV's Spider-Man
Didn't like Big Guy that much, whereas Spider-Man is Spider-Man.
8. The Spectacular Spiderman
Haven't seen any CB (), so gonna go with Spidey again.
Always remember, we were Heroes.
1)Trigun one of the few anime series I like.
2)Afro Samurai I dont get Zim. It's very hard not to get Sam Jackson being a badass though.
3)Claymore Dont care for either, but had to pick one.
4)Freakazoid because, duh
5)Dungeons & Dragons I hate endorsing this crappy cartoon, but it is D&D and she is my first love, even if she did go through an ackward acne phase.
6)Inhumanoids. I'm far too egocentric not to vote for myself.
7)Spider-Man: The New Animated Series aka MTV's Spider-Man I have no idea what the other thing is. Also I dont care, it's against Spider Man
8)Cowboy Bebop the other anime series I like.
Paragon Unleashed, Unleash Yourself!
Also, is Archer not animation for these purposes? I dont care, just curious.
Paragon Unleashed, Unleash Yourself!
I think Archer, Clerks, and Clone High might be in the Comedy vote. Just guessing.
My picks:
1. Trigun - For love and peace!
2. Zim - Who am I to doubt the will of the ZIIIIIM?
3. Evangelion - Because I mustn't run away
4. Freakazoid - Because without him we'd be unemployed
5. Baccano! - I have watched neither of these, so I picked the anime sounding title
6. Nadesico - From the opening theme song I knew I'd love this anime... bakas
7. Spider-Man - NPH is still one of the best Peter Parkers ever
8. Cowboy Bebop - I didn't like the rebooted artstyle of Spectacular, plus Bebop gives us Tank! and the awesome killer leftovers episode. And lots of Faye
Current Badge Hunter: Plot Device (Rad/Thermal/Dark) - 1,268 Xbox Live: Friggin Taser
King of Electricity, Lead Inmate running the Carl and Sons asylum, the "Man" behind the Establishment, Given Honor in Hat Form By Paragon City (Favorite Forum Poster 2006!), Master of Ceremonies of the Fair Use Law podcast
I think there were too many cartoon picks and archer and oblongs were put in comedy. Also Bubba has asked me to take over the thread postings for the next few rounds. So to streamline everything I will leave this one up for 24 hours and before I goto work tomorrow afternoon I will post round two at around noonish.

1. Trigun
2. Afro Samurai
3. Claymore
4. Outlaw Star
5. Baccano!
6. Martian Successor Nadesico
7. The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot
8. Cowboy Bebop
1. Trigun. I really liked the characterizations, especially Wolfwood.
2. Invader Zim: Afro is ok, but I really didn't get into it.
3. Neon Genesis Evangelion. Never watched either one, so I'll go with the one I've heard of before.
4. Outlaw Star. Freakazoid was fine, but Animaniacs did it better.
5. Dungeons and Dragons. A nod to a childhood of Saturday mornings.
6. Inhumanoids. Didn't watch the other one.
7. Big Guy and Rusty. The theme song has been in my head all weekend. This particular Spider-Man series is probably the weakest of all of them.
8. Cowboy Bebop. Good stories, but the music pushes it to the front with ease.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
Trigun
Invader Zim
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Freakazoid
Baccano!
Martian Successor Nadesico
The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot
Cowboy Bebop
Surprised nobody suggested the original Jonny Quest from the 60s. Also Zim ran two seasons according to IMDB, three according to TV.COM. Freakazoid was also two seasons. Who vetted these selections? :P

Tempus unum hominem manet
Pirates of Dark Water: American Cartoons that are actually good on a dramatic level are a rare thing and must be supported.
Invader Zim: The insanity calls to me.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: It changed anime forever.
Freakazoid: Funny and beloved.
Dungeons & Dragons: I swear this was my actual D&D group at the time.
Martian Successor Nadesico: "Guy Daigoji is the name of my soul."
The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot: Haven't seen either, but have heard great things about this one, and I love the premise.
Cowboy Bebop: What a great set of characters!

I will not say how many of these were between two shows I've never watched... so ashamed.
Thanks Teldon for helping me out here, it's tough getting enough time to pull the links and everything for these first rounds especially, and getting the net at my new apt still eludes me... for now. On in time for my own votes!
Oh, and I did put the animated shows that felt more like sitcoms and/or geared towards adult comedy into the comedy category.
Pirates of Dark Water
Gotta go with my own pick, also never seen Trigun, though I wish I had.
Invader Zim
Never seen much of either of these, but what little I've seen of this one goes to my sensibilities.
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Only seen the final movie of this... I think I need to catch more anime, at least more serious anime, have been geared more towards the wacky comedies like Excel Saga and Abenobashi.
Freakazoid
Tough choice, but man does he look good in that underwear.
Dungeons & Dragons
Love this show, 'swhy I picked it.
Martian Successor Nadesico
Never seen either, going with the anime space comedy.
Spider-Man: The New Animated Series aka MTV's Spider-Man
Love the spiderman cartoons, and quite enjoyed what little I've seen of this one. Lots of stuff I haven't seen in this category, need to seek some of it out.
Cowboy Bebop
Been meaning to catch more of this, only seen the best sessions compilation and fell in love with it.
1. Trigun
2. Afro Samurai 3. Claymore 4. Outlaw Star 5. Baccano! 6. Martian Successor Nadesico 7. The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot 8. Cowboy Bebop |
also: 30-ish more minutes for voting!

Yay! One of my anime picks (barely) made it past the first round for once.
Claymore got massacred, as expected, but at least it was destroyed by another anime series.
... I severely overestimated of what Zim is capable.
Well, Cop Rock and New Amsterdam were pretty much joke picks, which leaves me with Firefly. My entirety rests on the prophecies about this overall draft being true.
I'm doing things a little bit different here, I'm splitting things up into genres first: Animation, Comedy, Sci-Fi, and Wildcard (where Shawn Sage's last pick will also be) Hopefully I'm not stepping on any toes doing it this way, the match-ups are random within each section, except for a couple places where two of one person's pick was against each other. Normal rules apply, vote for every match up, and only vote for one in each match-up.
