Well that's it isn't it. Finding a Brute that knows what it's doing.
I don't have enough fingers or toes to count the number of times a Brute has proclaimed it will tank and then careered off herding far too much than it can handle or simply facedived from an alpha to the tune of "[censored]!!1!".
I have more fingers than I've seen Brutes with Taunt. Which is no bad thing, but kind of odd from "tanking" Brutes? -
This thread reminded me how much fun my bots/trap/taunting MM was. I think I'll start him again
.
And it's great to see someone thinking and playing proactively Sitriel.

I've recently rolled up a villain on Defiant (a claw/regen stalker) and thought I'd say hello on the forums.
I have a question as well - is there another forum for Defiant based evildoers? This one seems quite....quiet. Or is the server not that active at higher levels? Or even, do you all actually have better things to do than browse forums?

Welcome to the villainy Shaikar.

I think there's enough Dominator ex-Brutes who know otherwise
. Enough that given the choice facing a full mob of +conning Longbow, I know plenty would rather send their Dominator in first anytime over their Brute.
Carrion Creepers, or limited resistance (often debuffed) armours... I know what I'd prefer. -

The more in theme the game is the better I think we all like it.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not really what you're saying. You're surely saying the game should be in *your* theme?
Thematically I have a bunch of characters that in background context all started out normal but for the sort of situtations and chance events that only life in somewhere like Paragon could grant.
I have scientist characters, and inventor characters amonsgt them. They LOVE aid self thematically. Just because it doesn't suit your theme doesn't mean it isn't right on the money for someone else.
Gameplay and context, I love Aid Self. It's not an I WIN button by any means at all and there's plenty of occasions it's of no use at all and here's plenty of counters to it in PvP.
But it's certainly valueable and valued addition.

I think you want higher accuracy than just the 36% from the sets bonus for things like TP foe and Trip Mines in PvP. At least that's what I found on my Traps MM. Still if you're finding it ok, no worries then
.
Edit: Ah, you do have some acc' in Trip Mines from the Posi' set.
From experience I think you'd like some more defence in FFG and the BS shield. How about some Def/End HO's which can be aqquired cheaply at time from the Black Market for the BS shield?
Also you could tweak the slotting a bit and get some LOTG recharges in, which IMO benefits traps and gets things like the Poison Trap running a lot more, and that baby is very nasty stacked up etc.

I'd take the AOE and perhaps respec out later when you've completed your build.
For particular use with Seeds Of Confusion if nothing else.
You want to open up with Seeds, Immob the lot then blast them all for some damage with anything you have AOE wise. This will pretty much allocate all the damage you want to net the xp from the mob very quickly as they turn on each other and do most of the work for you.
Not tried Psychic Scream yet. If it's got comparable range and cone to Fling Thorns you're pretty much set up for the whole lot in one quick chain from being in range to hit Seeds.
If you're worried about missing some with Seeds' and taking some aggro, use 'Creepers to open and tank all the alpha aggro.
Mind I've never had any problem with Seeds accuracy slotted adequately.
That's the SOP for my Plant/Thorns which went Seeds' > Roots > Fling Thorns. It gets better when you get Chompy, the Flytrap who spits cones of Fling Thorns itself almost any chance it gets.
You'll be eating mobs wholesale very quickly and can tank mob aggro better than any Brutes.
Team big for big mobs and wreak havok.
I have an Ice/Psi started and really look forward to 'Shockwave after hearing about it so much.

Evil Thistle - Science Dominator.
Christain Bale as Alfred Borden, Le Professeur de Magie, in The Prestige.
HERE
Thanks! -
There's another animation in some situations where it goes all timid and scared, skulks around with his head bowed...
Pulls at my heart-strings everytime.
Aw, c'mere Chompy *Aid Other, pats Chompy, throws him a Fire/Kin' to chew on* -

Saturday, 8pm anyone? I'll get the SG's in on it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry Harbi as said on channel tonight we wont be there to busy just now. We that is including the previous organisers from Murders Unlimited and Nightstalkers. The plan is there though for anyone else willing to try to have a crack at it...
[/ QUOTE ]
The plan is where?...
Will it be posted here where everyone could see it? Could be a little tricky to get intrest up, and ask people to follow it without it actually being here.

I think damage procs tend to follow a general 20% trend.
There seems to be bit more variance through different effect procs though. Chance For Build Up is 5%. If I can think about what I have, for one, I think I have a %chance to stun on an immob' that procs around 2%.
Perhaps status effect procs or buff type procs generally trigger at a lower %.
Damage procs are nice, but it's worth considering if it slotting it comes at the expense of slotting more consistent or reliable damage, or even perhaps the chance to boost recharge from set bonuses, which might in turn grant another attack in place, which is always better.

I actually like the Patron Powers I took. They have some use to my Dominator.
Thing is a few Hero Epics seem to have been made on Friday afternoon after lunch at the pub and really boost some characters far too much. They seem to have been made under free reign and a lot of "WAAAAA-HAY" attitude. They crazy dammit
. And now it's too hard, too risky and would be far too unpopular to tone them down.
IMO PPS would be fine with more variety. Thematically they work fine. The pets need some work - the Toxic Tarantula in specific particular.
But yeah, I'd love to sit inside a PFF for months at a time.
-

PPPs are a total joke in comparison, totally unfair and totally unbalancing. There isnt a bad hero epic at all, each set brings something new to your character and can change dynamics and playstyles, villains get the same tired old [censored] in every epic for thier AT.
I optimistically cling to the impossible hope that when eventually the changing sides TF goes live real epics will be thrown made available for villain ATs (in addition to the crappy PPPs as inevitably someone somewhere will like them) as PPPs are [censored] in every way, they dont even work from a RP view.

Evil Scientist goes to work for Black Scorpion.
Evil Scientist steals gizmos, and [censored] his boss over. The end.
Works for me.
-
Yep, and I wondered if the -rec proc would work as a nice way to possibly stack additional -rec. It's a 20% of -20% recharge.
-
Would Pace Of The Turtle's chance of -rec be nice in Quills? It triggers pretty consistently. Could stack nicely?

That given, I do think it's fairly pointless to whine at either the farmers or the people killing the farmers. I'm more irritated by the latter, though, because it's just ridiculous to complain when you're killed in a PvP zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
...especially when you've just been killed by the farmer you were moaning at and trying to kill. That IS priceless.
-
Exactly. But it's horses for courses actually ingame, and not the hypothesising here, where just as much grief is started by PvP'er as PvE'ers. I'm simply saying the [censored] flies both ways
, and that I don't see the point that a zone has to be played any particular way because any person says so either way. I just go play it. Turrets, NPCS, Heavies, players, I'll shoot at anything indiscriminately
. With a big robot.
For the record I don't class myself as a PvP'er or PvE'er. I just play. -
Great reply
. I'll pour over this when the boss isn't looking... *cough*
.
Thanks. -
Any more thoughts about Kheld set slotting?
I'm hoping to get started on my level 41 triform WS soon, but have been putting it off because just juggling enough slots to make room for some set building is a major undertaking in itself.
Any tips and suggestions for set IOs that work really well? Obviously some KB and Mez' protection would be lovely. Do any bonuses translate across the forms?
Anyone got a build planner example of something they're working on currently?
Any info' appreciated! -
I STILL don't understand why one set of people can tell another set what they can't do in a zone.
No, PvE'rs can't tell PvP'ers to not fight them, but c'mon, PvP'ers, you have as little right to tell anyone they can't PvE or farm.
I wonder if I'm alone in that the few times that I've been to RV I've haven't gone with any specific intention to PvE or PvP. I've gone to play. In a fun zone with some fun toys. I just go to shoot some stuff, and if I see any enemy players, shoot them too. With a big robot.
Heavies don't spoil RV. High horses do.

Seen this thing called I10 coming? I dunno, it looks pretty fun to me
...
-
Sure, I'll have an alt kicking about, or will just roll one for ya to move in
.
Shout @mighty' @evil thistle ingame, but would have to be 7ish, not 6. -
Well I play my Plants/Thorn in a wild rampage and like to be right in the middle of spawns and the carnage
. Plant has amazing control. Anything not confused or held is easily tanked by 'Creepers, and everything charges fast enough to spam it all out just about every mob
.
Creepers to tank the alphas, confuse, AOE immob', hold anything stray, Fling Thorns, scream and charge in hell for leather - rawr!
The Ice/Psi' Dom' played a lot the same way, so that's me sold.
