So does that mean this program is running on my machine? Or?
Is there away to delete it?
It's in add/remove programs. It's also in control panel (if you're seeing the "categories," change it to classic or small/large icon view.)
  2. More troubling is that I summoned Rocky and phased on that Earth controller. He whipped a rock at someone (Freakshow, 30) just before I did, it hit. After, he took a swipe at another and had "Unaffected" show up above the freakshow's head. Verified with a nice, big group of Council - phased before he got there, there were two very solid hits (on a minion that should have been one shot) with a boulder and with fists... with "Unaffected" floating up and th eminion perfectly healthy afterward. Unphase and they start having effect again. Going to burn a third build on one of these just to see if the concealment - phase shift does any differently.

Edit: Also a bad time for it to do so - Volcanic Gasses has the same behaviour.

However, did the otherwise-unused third build, grabbed Concealment - Phase Shift, and it didn't behave any *differently* - the pet-placed-item and pets had their proper effect after phase shift was turned off.

    Also:
Took my Zombie/Poison MM into warburg, grabbed the temp power. Set Noxious Gas on one of the Grave Knights. Set to aggressive, phased, dragged into a nice size group of Freakshow... no affect of any sort (other than "Unaffected" showing up over their heads.)

And it is like this on the VIP beta server.

    So....
    - Phasing with Phase Shift or Hyper Phase has this effect.
    - Mobile pets (Rocky) and placed-pets (Ice Slick, Earthquake, Volcanic Gasses, Quicksand) get phased when you do, but unphase when you do as well.
    - This does affect mastermind minions (thugs, zombies, etc.) as well.

    Don't know:
    - There's at least one enemy I can't think of right this second that phases you. If this affects your pets and controls THERE, it becomes much worse.

I'm suspecting this came in with the change to Dimension Shift.
  3. Tested using the Hyper Phase Warburg temp phase power. 50(+1) Ice/Emp, some level something-teen Council. Also with some tsoo and outcasts near icon.

Put down ice slick - they fall.
Phase - they no longer fall.
Unphase - they start slipping again after a brief delay.

So it is phasing with you, and unphasing when you come back - at least with the warburg temp phase.

Edit: Also seems to affect Earth control: Earthquake. Though I couldn't get the lowbie Lost to run back into it.

    Edit 2: Also affects Quicksand.
  4. Just to verify - phase shift from the Concealment pool?

I can go check if so. (I don't think any of my ice/ have phase shift, though they may have the warburg temp.)
  5. Yes. There actually is another thread about it, can't find it right this second though. Seems intentional.

    Left-right borders, I believe so.

My biggest issue with it is the message list/message split. That *can't* be resized - and when you're going througha bunch of character items, I'd really prefer a longer list. Even if you split it from the message window and resize the entire thing vertically, you get about 4 1/2 (well, I do) messages listed up top.

I'd *love* to be able to resize that.

    Psychic Melee

Psychic Melee should be the most END-friendly set out there. If you know your punch is going to miss, you don't use it...

More along the lines of capped than "metered" (at least to me - I can, and have never hit even on my heaviest movie/ISO/game update/beta download months, download up to 250gb before I get charged on Comcast.) That's fairly common, from my understanding - at least among the bigger ISPs. It's just a question of where that cap sits.
  10. Yeah, that's one of the things that drives me nuts in other games. You finally get a look you want - and you have to change it in a level or two because, well, the armor's no longer any good, or you finally have a weapon that'll do more than tickle whatever you're fighting...

A few games "kind of" have ways around this. Aion does (or used to) have, besides dyes, a way of "skinning" one item with another - so you'd see people in dresses or holiday outfits with insanely high armor ratings/speed boosts/etc. TOR, if you're lucky enough to find "orange" (moddable) armor/weapons/etc. that have the look you want, will let you keep replacing the mods (to a point) to keep upgrading the ratings, which seems a decent, but limited, compromise system. But you still end up looking very similar.

Still think COH's way of just separating the two (looks vs effectiveness) entirely, and just enhancing powers on their own, is far, far superior.
  11. Y'know, costume-wise, in all the time I've been playing (feb 2005) i've run across an unintentional near-duplicate costume on someone else... oh, once, maybe twice. And I don't just mean "of my own." Even when costume sets come out, people seem to like mixing them in with the other bits to see what they can come up with.

I'll let others form their own conclusions about the individuals. Trying to keep personal opinions about others to myself (and, on occasion, my ignore list) since they do nothing but turn a thread nasty. And I don't want to be a reason for someone to think the boards are a hostile place.

IIRC, just hovering near that with Fly will - or at least used to - do that, too. And if you don't have leaves, find someone with /em throwconfetti or the like.

If not, why are you complaining?

If so, you've had it on the system for a while now - it's not new.

I should note that Aion's going "Totally free to play" - today, in fact, if I recall the email correctly. Which means they're going to be cutting costs. They're already down to three servers as it is - so forum access is quite likely a victim of that more than Pando (which has been installed with the launcher for a while now.)

    Edit: Yep. Found the email:
    Play Aion® 3.0, Truly Free™
    April 11, 2012!

na.aiononline.com gives "down for maintenance." From facebook:
Today is the day you have been waiting for! Aion: Ascension is here! Once the server maintenance is completed you will be able to download the patch and start exploring the new content! The estimated time for when the servers will go up is 3 PM Central. Watch here for updates on the time frame!

... so, no conspiracy to "avoid backlash."

    Edit: Hey, look, they're back.

Well... with components, it is, or at least used to be. But the places that did that always insisted on a CC #.

What I'm surprised by is, if this was IBP via Costco and he was *at* a costco, that they couldn't just say "Leave it there, we'll give them the label and ship out a replacement to you." They may not have that sort of agreement with them, I suppose, but still.

    1. all of your characters become locked, you have to unlock them using your "global unlocks" that any "free" or VIP player can use. you can unlock an existing character or create a new one.
To be a little more precise - there are server and global unlocks. If you've purchased and used character slots on a server, they cannot be moved *from* that server. They'll be used first when you unlock a character.

If you have none, or are unlocking more, you'll need global unlocks.

    2. IOs and ATOs or any crafted IO will no longer work for you as if your slot was empty.
ATOs will work. So will any purchased (from the market) IOs. Crafted IOs depend on reward level (or purchasing an invention license.) Mine, f'rinstance, worked fine - but I'm at tier 9.

    3. you can't email, AH, AE or use your SG base. not sure if you can trade anything but I know that nothing you can't use can be traded/gifted with you.
Again, not quite. You can use your SG base. You can't pay rent. Wentworths and AE depend on either having the license or having the correct reward level - I was using AE while Premium. Same with email.

So, if Level's been VIP consistently as long as he's had his forum account (I don't know,) he won't notice much change. He:
    - Won't be able to pay base rent, or convert INF to Prestige
    - Will have to pay for SSAs he hasn't already separately purchased
    - Will have to purchase a few powersets (NOT MMs, Controllers, or Epics... again, if he's been a steady subscriber, or at least long enough to be Tier9)
    - Won't be able to redeem Paragon Rewards token for Tier9 VIP items after dropping to premium.

The difference between his experience and yours - if the forum registration date is anywhere close - is specifically due to reward tier level. (And you can "boost" yours via buying points.)

    Wentworth prices

OK. You put a cap on what's charged. What do you think happens next? (Hint: Look at "3 billion INF for PVP IO" posts.)

Also, capping means the lowbie gets less for what they put on the market.

If you think commons are too expensive - run AE for a bit. One arc should give you more than enough tickets to fill up on common salvage and... sell the rest on the market. (Assuming you have AE access.)

    Note: Not a marketeer.
  21. And now you've learned about backups (and not having them.)

Save your work to a flash drive. Or, if you think you'll lose that, the free backup services (like dropbox or mozy.com) are *more* than big enough to save the text files. (You can fit a lot of 110k files in 2 Gb.)

That's what they're there for - to have an audience when you do something like that.

Not submitting to this - since I've got a tonne of art, including some by Alex. I am, however, going to repost one he stuck a character of mine in as a cameo that I still find far too amusing:

(I'm the one in back with the hot dog.)

And links to other Alex bits I've gotten, since it's fun:
Feliney Assault, solo - en/en brute
Regina Arctus, blind Ice/Elec blaster (who I had a long writeup about.)
    Violet Flame, Warshade
Therra Malevola - Nothing goes with this (quick sketch) which turned into this (with application of some monies because, well, I liked it.)
    Cryo Havoc, Ice/Ice tank
And three friends, done as a surprise for two SG mates (and friends.) Warning, fairly large if you go full size, even with Photobucket's limits.

... Yes, I've had a lot of character artwork done.
  23. Er....

    *re-reads OP*

    Huh?

Methinks the OP needs to learn a bit about Khelds first.
  24. I... don't see a need, honestly.

The only thing I'd like to see, as far as an extra power for any of the forms, is an extra attack for White Dwarf.
