Quote:Dear Human resourcesRe: Reminder to Keep All Areas Clean
To: Syndicate All
From: Human Resources
CC: Facilities Maintenance
Team,
It has come to our attention through numerous anonymous complaints, filed by the third floor janitorial staff, that there has been a rapid increase in random debris found throughout the campus. This has proved problematic, as facilities and maintenance is not equipped to dispose of a 1985 Crown Victoria, let alone 3 of them, several rusted out dumpsters, lamps of varying makes and models and what appears to be a replica of something called the "Maltese Falcon". Also, we are not sure where the wireframed, 20 ft. globe came from, however we please ask that you return it to it's point of origin immediately.
Please kindly remember that you share this workspace with everyone around you. Your assistance in keeping our facilities beautiful (and sterile) is much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Human Resources

Re: Keeping facilities beautiful
It seems in the prior memo, there's some implication that we are being negligent or don't care about the look of the buildings we worked so hard to steal.
If I may point your attention to the scorch marks on the third floor East hallway. Those were Bob, Janet, and Ash. (Yes, we've heard the joke.) Janet, in fact, was attempting to pick up a water cooler that arrived at high velocity during break at the time - you may notice the dent in the wall at about six feet, three inches. At least she's short.
Speaking of dents, we need to order more plaster, or drywall, or... something by meeting room C. While we encourage our sales staff to make a great impression on our customers, the resulting impressions OF our customers (and sales staff) in the wall as of last Friday's incident is less beneficial to the bottom line.
Plus it jammed the door to the bathroom shut. I think I've heard knocking since the weekend.
Thank you for your attention to these matters. -
Quote:Looks more like the angle. After all, it's a shot straight up, and she seems to have no belief in support... And honestly, we have parts *far* worse than that, from the duct-tape straps to Eden and other "How is that stayong on again?" tops.Does the fact that her jubblies are almost completely out of her top have anything to do with that?
Because, to me, that is a reason NEVER to see the outfit in this game.
Modify the "Belly tee" piece to take (or have) a pattern and give another sleeve option, and I think you'd have that top. -
Still trying to find any sort of pet that isn't affected by this.
Both crafted (Backup radio) and Sparky are...

13b is the "Mildly explosive childproofing supply and paperclip storage" adjunct just inside Neutropolis. You may be thinking of 16d, opened in Hokkaido two months ago for research into the effects of radiation on native lizard and amphibian life. (The executives were really talking it up. It seems like a fairly safe research subject with great potential. Besides, what can go wrong in Japan? It's pure profit. Even if the medical research doesn't pan out, they'll buy *anything* in a vending machine.)
-
Site 13b is reporting unusual activity. Given new guidelines, they're wondering if translucent beings of indeterminate gender fall under the "male," "female" or "on fire" guidelines, and where tentacles fit into the guidelines.
-
Understood.
Submitting per form 386b-070-f, suggestions for process improvements and streamlining.
In the interest of monitoring potential threats with localized excessive temperature gradients (commonly referred to as "on fire" or "shooting fire") as well as mitigating the sharply increasing number of bee incidents, an opportunity seems to show itself.
If we cannot recruit some of these agents, the circulation of information about the bee-infested locations should commence through our usual underground channels. All essential paperwork and personnel should, of course, be evacuated. (Those which have not already left due to allergies.) Direct those on fire to the bee-infested facilities, and let them take care of the problem.
This may also lend itself to performance- and morale-improvement initiatives. Those not meeting performance guidelines will be informed they may be reassigned to one of these facilities. I'm sure we'll see a marked jump in productivity.

For the trials, it's... a bit weird. In general, what you "learn," you tend to go to Ouroboros and talk to Prometheus. As you do more trials (not the same one, but progress through them,) he's more forthcoming with information.
The wiki page *should* have the important dialog bits and such. Doesn't always, but it should. >.> -

We've gone over the policies with our staff, and have a few questions. Given the recent issues, we'd prefer not to make assumptions.
Quote:Recently, we've seen a few people encased in ice. Should these be added to the list, or are they part of the fire prevention team undergoing training?n particular, it should be stressed that the following individuals require special permission to enter any Syndicate facility and must be escorted at all times:
* Naked or half-naked females
* Individuals who appear to be on fire
* Anyone carrying a sword or swords
* The undead
* Persons dressed in more than twelve colors
* Anyone accompanied by two or more robots
Also, one individual was seen with what appeared to be a rainbow circling them. We'd assumed at the time they were part of one of the manager's retirement parties. Should this assumption not be made?
What about pets? Is one OK? We have seen people coming in with five or more - and given the size of one of the dogs seen at the time, it seemed better to let them through.
Followup to that last one - who do we contact for bee removal? -
/this.
The list needs an overhaul, yes.
- Redo the "Top 100 SGs" so it's specifically saying "Highest prestige," as opposed to suggesting it's some actual measure of quality.
- Have a button to contact whoever has the "red star."
- Have more descriptors and filters that the SG can set (RP/Heavy RP/PVP/private/themed/etc.)
- "Last active" - if you see one that looks good but has had no activity since 2006, you know you can skip it.
That listing is generally pretty useless as it sits. -
Quote:Nice. Yeah, it's pretty much "if you have Aion or Lineage," missed if you mentioned running Aion earlier. COH, Guild Wars... no issue. Just don't want people thinking it's installed by default no matter what. Thanks, I run Aion (or was, it's not worth it to keep this turkey) as well and it was there. Not anymore!
That explains what the PMB.exe that was eating up memory in Task Manager was. And now... smoother sailing already.
Edit: Playing Aion isn't worth my COH crashing and everything else slowing down. I get a stupid error message when I bring up the launcher, but I cancel out of the Aion updater and then launch COH.
(And I keep considering going back to aion every once in a while... doesn't last. Most recently, it was doing the "I refuse to start" bit, and for a game I haven't been in since the first year, other than to take a quick peek, I didn't feel like messing with it. I kind of like the "Fragment of memory" storyline, at least what I've seen of it, though.) -
Quote:I'm not particularly fond of an 'asymmetrical' corner desk... there was one I used to have (one of the knock-together... don't think it was Sauder, but same sort of thing) that I loved. With hutch. I still see them occasionally, but they wouldn't fit a widescreen monitor (well, not without shoving it WAY back,) much less two. It's pretty damned heavy. Great desk though, and very uncramped.
I particularly like the profile of it.
Kinda sorta this, but not exactly:
And I use top/side storage space too much to go hutchless(Either that or I'm going to need to throw shelves on and cobble something together.)
I'm thinking once I move/settle in, I'm going to just have to come up with and build my own desk, unless someone knows of a dual-widescreen-friendly desk like that. Don't mind having a fair bit of space to the sides. Prefer it actually.
(Oh, and /thumbsup on the G15. Still have mine... though I'm using a G110 ATM. No LCD, one row fewer keys, but it works for me. Tis skinnier.) -
Quote:Oh, with a grav dom it'll be very easy to say. Go to, say, Perez Park - somewhere with a nice, big mass of enemies. Summon singularity. Hit phase shift. Run to the other side of a pack of skulls or hellions.Come to think of it, I *do* seem to remember my Singularity adopting my personal phase state. My grav/nrg dom doesn't have Dimension Shift (they waited far too long to make that power useful...
), but he does have Phase Shift. Will have to pop on a bit later and see how that works. Also, my wife's grav/kni troller *does* have Dim Shift, so may be able to do some testing there, if I can correctly grasp what I'm trying to test, here.
Singularity *should* knock them around with repel. Instead, you'll see a lot of "Unaffected" pop over their heads until PS wears off.
Again, though, this is *phase* shift we're talking about, not *dimension* shift.
You can also take a mastermind (if you have one high enough) and just do a patrol in Warburg. It'll award you Hyper Phase - which is just a temp Phase Shift. It does the same thing - run into a group the pets should attack. They'll attack. And nothing will be affected until it wears off. -
Quote:If you have it (which, if you're just running COH, you probably don't,) Control panel - add/remove programs (or programs and features.)How do you get it off your machine? My machine has been running like crap for a day now and COH isn't stable, it crashes, lags, fits and starts, and even running the launcher crashes more often than I can get into the game.
However, this should have nothing to do with that. -
Heh..... yeah...
And I remember how well THAT went over for Alpha. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. But I'm sure they know that by now.
I see two things that make me happy:
1. "End of Praetorian arc."
2. Free costumes. -
Bots/FF Mastermind. I've never had another powerset so nearly make me dismiss an entire AT. (Fortunately I talked to the MM forum folks, ended up with a shiny Thugs/Poison that was a heck of a ride to 50.)

Quote:... so make something you'd enjoy and run it?Ah well seems this would not be a good idea, seems there are pro,s and con,s to the market having high prices. As I am a VIP I do have access to everything in game as far as AE goes I very rarely go in there as I find a lot of stuff on there to be rubbish and do not have the patience to look for the good stuff.
-
"Regularly," I'd have to think about. Concealment, for Stealth, on Peacebringers (nothing makes a first impression on a void like Incandescent Strike, and being seen ruins the surprise.) Sometimes I'll use the stealth global in one of the vet sprints instead, though. Other than that... I don't think I have a "regular" set.

Quote:WAY back (as in pre-beta) origin had an effect. (There was also a larger set of origins.) It would affect how many powers you could select, and how far they could be developed.Where can I find detailed information as to how it relates to what Origin I pick?
For example, what benefits, enhancements, etc. do I get for picking Science, Mutation, Magic, Technology, Natural?
Links to other forum posts or externals sites would be helpful. I have searched and am having trouble finding more detailed Origin information.
Thank you
That system was scrapped.
Origin, now, is really more for flavor. The only things it affects right now:
- Origin temp power. Low damage, unenhanceable, really meant to give you something extra to use before level 10 (when it used to disappear) when you didn't have many powers. Slight differences between them, but really not worth mentioning.
- Some dialog choices/dialog results. (Not many, and none that affect how an arc plays out or what you do next.)
- Some other temporary powers - there are 1-2 that change depending on your origin. The Nemesis Staff and Blackwand (unenhanceable "vet reward" powers) will do extra damage depending on your origin.
- They USED to determine your starting contact before the Freedom launch on heroside (excluding Kheldians.) They no longer do. Unfortunately.
- And yes, they affect title choices.
So, pick whatever fits your character best, if you have a theme or backstory in mind for them. Otherwise, pick Magic. Solely for having your SOs show up at the top of the list in the "all origin" stores like the Vanguard quartermaster. -
Quote:Do you have "Show processes from all users" checked? Not all csrss.exe will spawn this. It needs to be a process or program that requires some sort of console (which may not be visible to the person at the desktop.)Odd, I don't have that process show up on my computer with Windows 7 64bit ever. I do have csrss.exe, but conhost is not there.
Interesting. Maybe it is the issue?
Easy way to have it show up - open a command prompt.
Edit: Link to a brief explanation. -
Quote:If they have iTunes or some other apple product and iCloud got iNstalled, it's probably part of that. Not needed unless they're actually USING icloud. Right click - file location will probably show it in an Apple\Internet Services folder.I don't know what "ubd.exe" is, but I do not have it on my computer active. You actually have fewer processes active than I do, though.
I don't have "WinMsgBalloonClient.exe" active either, and am unsure what that actually does.
WinMsgBalloonClient seems to be tied to Comodo (not the antivirus product) and most commenly mentioned along with motherboard drivers and RaidXpert.
Conhost.exe is part of Windows. Usually tied to csrss.exe.
Dstnoted is part of Apple's services again. (Mobile Device or Application.) -
Quote:Ah, ok. I see what you're saying - kind of the same suspicion I mentioned a few posts back.Yeah, I know, but it's most likely that this change is related to the changes made to Shift (specifically the ones posted by Arbiter Hawk in the Dim Shift feedback thread where he mentions that pseudos now share their masters state)
I suspect it's an across the board change rippling from that. Hopefully it's not WAI since it makes no sense for a lot of other characters to force this change on them just for the benefit of one niche power like Dim Shift.Anyway, fired off a note - we'll see what the word is.
Today's word: Tintinnabulation. -
Quote:The way it's supposed to work (I thought anyway) was that pseudopets were supposed to follow your phase state as it seems to be doing, but that true pets use their own.
If that's not the case and pets like Singy or whatever are also following your state then it would seem to be borked I'd have thought (since if Singy wanders into your Dimension Shift he should be able to fight and be fought by the enemies contained within, regardless of your phase state).
If all pets follow their masters phase state that makes Dimension Shift very annoying for both you and other Controllers, Dominators and Masterminds.
It's not Dimension Shift that's being looked at, though - which is still fairly rare. It's the self-phase powers, which *used* to let your pets keep doing what they were doing (without Supremacy, of course, in the case of a mastermind) and which are paired with travel powers in the case of Khelds (QFly and Nebulous form - which I do use fairly regularly.) -
Well, the old footstomp really was the minimum flare. It worked, but some people... well, they wanted to *express* themselves more, like when they were hovering after a teleport. They now have *more* flare. You do want to express yourself - preferrably right in the enemies' faces - don't you?
-
Quote:OK. It's probably GW I was thinking of from SSA#7. I don't think the cages affect your pets, then, simply from trying Personal Force Field on that Earth controller - that didn't affect anything. (I had the "only affecting self" idea as well while doing this.)The first enemy with a phase power that comes to mind is Ghost Widow. I've had her phase my MM and still get damaged by my pets, but that wasn't recent; certainly not since i22.
I can think of other enemies that *cage* you (trap you in a force field), but I don't know if that's the same effect, mechanically, beyond the "affect self only" part. Those would be Ballistae and Wisp Overlords. -
Also had a thought and tested it - and adding this to the "very not good."
Those were all placed pets, or pets with long duration.
Went on my 50 Peacebringer. Summoned both my Lore pets and Photon Seekers, then hit Quantum Flight. Floated over to some Freakshow.
Seekers found targets, exploded, leaving... a bunch of "Unaffected." Polar lights did nothing, either.
I can't see this really being WAI... or if so, properly thought out. Going to pester a redname.
*edit* Same with WS and Essence. (Checking to see if a prerequisite of a dead enemy made a difference. nope. Nebform does it.)
