City of Heroes Lore

Is there a place I can go to get a better understanding of the City of Heroes Lore. For example, the Incarnate Trial in I23 is the last one for the Praetorian items and like it says on the I23 splash page: "Things you learned in the Dilemma Diabolique trial..." when I go to the ParagonWiki it gives you a walk through of what to do in the trial, but none of what you learn...so is there somewhere else you can go to read up about things in case you haven't been able to do all the trials.

http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Dilemma_Diabolique_Trial

Thanks

For the trials, it's... a bit weird. In general, what you "learn," you tend to go to Ouroboros and talk to Prometheus. As you do more trials (not the same one, but progress through them,) he's more forthcoming with information.

The wiki page *should* have the important dialog bits and such. Doesn't always, but it should. >.>

Maybe I can read through his pages. I've run a bunch of trials but have still yet to run/finish a couple of them

The best place to "learn the lore" is to play the story arcs. That way you learn why groups are the way they are. Do you know what the Freakshow stand for? How and why they modify their bodies, and how they stand that much pain? A thousand other details like that exist in this very well established world. What happened in Faultline? What's up with Ghost Widow? Run the arcs...

That is true...except you can't just run iTrials on your own...

This. One reason I hate how the iTrials are the exclusive path chosen for the Praetorian storyline is that you have to be in a large league of people that don't really care about story and blaze through it. Cut scenes go by quickly, it can get hard to read the text boxes that fly by during combat, and NPCs get lost in the bright, flashing lights of a couple dozen powers going off at once every few seconds. And Prometheus just feels like waaay too much exposition.

Honestly, I dunno where you can catch up on the lore behind the Trials without actually running the Trials themselves.

For a less video-gamey and more movie script version you can read our beloved Paragon Wikipedia for most story-lines. I believe this is updated for most incarnate trials as well. This will give you more time top peruse dialogue, contemplate plot twists, and understand the story. I personally prefer running the arc in the fully immersed 3-D world, even if it takes me multiple (many) runs to understand the story, plot twists, and strategies. But I just love running content and alts. I believe you can read 90-95% of game content on the wiki, at a faster pace than running the content, and getting more out of it.
