Oh, so he's not the one in the blue top. My mistake.

You, Razoras, came in apparently JUST to attack her. I don't recall seeing you elsewhere in a fun thread. If you have a problem with her... don't wander in just to post about her.

[/ QUOTE ]My post isn't directed at her at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hmm, really?

    [ QUOTE ]

So Steampunkette is the new Miss Kitty except maybe even worse.

We've got a good checklist going already. Narcissism, stereotypical sexual escapes with other females in high school that she likes to bring up, near-constant references to her "d20s," cute girl avatar, signs her posts, abusive relationship, emoticon use that comes close to ludicrous (squirrel gets a pass) , constant references to her looks while coyly refusing to put up or shut up...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Named in the very first line, reference in your third section (as she mentioned specifically high school,) D20 reference is her, signs post... yep...

Go ahead, pull the other one. Or are you just trying to lie to yourself?

Better yet, if you have a problem with the thread, *don't post in it.* If you have a problem with her, ignore her.

For what it's worth, I like 'er.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    /this.

And not because of anything she's said in the thread. Overall attitude and longer discussions about various subjects, including "what-if" history (and not just related to her steampunk project... in fact, not at all, come to think of it,) culture, quite a range of subjects that she's got a good grasp of to be honest.

You, Razoras, came in apparently JUST to attack her. I don't recall seeing you elsewhere in a fun thread. If you have a problem with her... don't wander in just to post about her.

    MA Ally?

Yes. Set them as allies, with no surrounding enemy group, placement "front." They may not be RIGHT there (and in outdoor maps, are pretty much guaranteed not to be, as they don't have a "front, middle or back" in that case.)

    (At least by memory.)
  6. The forum won't migrate until fall, at which point it'll fly south, buy a bikini and lay out on the beaches of Brazil, get drunk and have embarrassing vacation pictures taken.
  7. [ QUOTE ]

Going rogue. Gotta' pay...probably around the same price as this game goes for retail. Remember the days when the devs said there would -NEVER- be a paid for expansion?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Quote please.

They've put out one paid for expansion - COV. They have never charged for an issue. There's a difference.
  8. For your effects?
1 - I got to 50 because I was playing. At one point because I wanted Khelds.
1a. - Which leaves people in a bind if they get hit with a bug (as has been mentioned) where epics don't show as unlocked - because they then have to go back and log in to the 50.

    2. So they stop getting XP at 49. Getting to 50 is not the only reason to farm. Getting purples, getting INF, getting PVP characters levelled up, enjoying running against a certain set of enemies - there are a lot of reasons to farm.
2a. Also, with this being optional... what makes you think it would stop?

    3. Oy. A page full of xXxtHeBlAsTeRdUdExXx and the like? Scantily clad Nuse Naughty, the PL'd emp? Bleh.

Going back a bit in the post - I don't particularly care for my characters to be part of a popularity contest. Look at the complaints over 5-starred arcs, ratings griefing, etc. for what this would lead to.

I don't see a need for this, and don't see it particularly helping anything.
    Edit:

    Oh, and your reasoning:
    [ QUOTE ]

    1. Power leveling is, overall, a negative aspect of the game, allowing players to attain level 50, without exploring virtually any actual game content.

    [/ QUOTE ]
People PL to PVP. They PL to get to a level they think is fun. Whether you agree with it or not... it's not always to 50, or always newbies.
    [ QUOTE ]

    2. Farming is, overall, a negative aspect of the game, leading to redundancy of missions, and general malaise among the player base.

    [/ QUOTE ]
See above, as well as comments on your second effect.
    [ QUOTE ]

    3. Once at level 50, character options are limited. There aren't enough things for level 50 character to do.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Which is solely up to the player, and calls more for more content at those levels, not "Delete these characters" (or have a choice to delete the character.)

With this optional, I'd never run the mission. Ever. (For the record, one of each AT, 2 controllers, 2 defenders, nearly a second blaster at 50 heroside, and nearly one of each AT to 50 redside - I have several.) And if it were NOT optional - there goes both subscriptions, and I'm reasonably sure most of the SGs I'm in would leave.... many of which are made of multiple-year vets.
  9. We do not know yet.

More information when marketing releases it.
  10. No need to call the OP a ******. That's just rude.

And best... anything. >.< They shouldn't be getting hit at all. Arch/MM is, or was, somewhat FOTM, but it's still fun. Ice/ will make up somewhat for the direct control that Ill/ lacks. Ice/MM might be interesting.
  11. It depends what you find fun. I could say Earth/ or Mind/ but if you like melee, they won't be fun. Heroside, for me, it's pretty much "anything but Illusion."
  12. [ QUOTE ]
, but not higher than new generic ATs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I just find this funny...

    "Power list:
    1. Something.
    2. Hit, or something.
    3. Yeah, that thing.
    4. Do something else."

    ... etc.

Aett is never wrong, but does occasionally leave scraps for the rest of us.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, but he clearly said "There are two IOs that give -KB" when there are clearly three.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Two IOs...more than two SETS. Big difference. Never gave a definitive number of sets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Blessing of the Zephyr: Knockback Protection (4 Points) Global: this enhancement functions like a set bonus..

    Aett is still wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's also the Kinetic Crash set as well. Four of those give an additional 3 points of KB protection.

Also, for the OP, since your character is a tank, you will probably want at least 12 points, perhaps 15 or 16 points of protection. When you hit the higher levels, you will be fighting a lot of Nemesis. And if you are getting knocked all over the place by those Fake Nemi robots, you are not going to be very effective as a tank.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Eh - Using IOs, I rarely have more than 8 and haven't had an issue with it.
  17. No, they do not affect pets. The only way to give pets KB protection would be to team with a Kinetics with ID, or drop a breakfree on them (IIRC.)

    I am the leader

Well, set it for the max, and be sure to have arrangements for your friends where they understand you want leadership back when you come back.
  19. Memphis_Bill

    I am the leader

    [ QUOTE ]
You can set the supergroup auto-demotion timeframe, in the SG information window. However, if you founded the SG, the character that founded it will stay at the super-leader level, no matter how much time passes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not quite, Aett... from Sunstorm's announcement:

    # Super Leader position will always be filled by active user and Rank 5 leaders will no longer be demoted unless the SL designates.
    # Super Leader will be auto-demoted if inactivity period set by permissions is reached.
    # The highest ranking member with the most recent log-out time will be auto-promoted once Super Leader position is vacated.
    # Super Leader can pass leadership to a Rank 5 Leader at any time as long as both players are online. This transfer of leadership occurs in the SG/VG screen.
    # There is a confirmation screen before this transaction occurs to eliminate errors.
    # Customer Service can promote any on-line player to the Super Leader position, if the petition warrants such action
    # Yes, there is only one Super Leader.

"Founder" has no relevance whatsoever in regards to superleadership.

    Revitalizing CoH

    Oy.... OK, where to start...

    [ QUOTE ]
    Taskforce Changes

-When a team leader agrees to form a signature taskforce, each member of that team will be granted a temporary travel power, and attack power that is derived from the offering hero's origin.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Origin based - no.
Temporary travel power - not needed past, perhaps. Positron.
    [ QUOTE ]

-The number of reward merits awarded by signature taskforces have been significantly increased.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They datamine this as it is and adjust it as they feel it's needed... up OR down.
    [ QUOTE ]

-Taskforces not required for the "Taskforce Commander" accolade have had their recipe drop rates increased and mission counts reduced.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Why, exactly?

    [ QUOTE ]

-Players can now form any taskforce at the registrar's desk in Atlas Park.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thematically doesn't make sense to me. Besides, why add MORE travel time? Go to the registrar to start an ITF? A Shard TF? How does this help?

    [ QUOTE ]

    Mission Architect Changes

-Custom enemy groups now require at least one minion, lieutenant, and boss creature.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No. Too limiting. If I want to pull some out and not include a boss, I should be able to do so. If I just want two minions to specifically use, say, as clones that will appear repetitively battling security forces, I should be able to do so.
    [ QUOTE ]

-Player made story arcs now offer recipe and enhancement drops at a reduced rate compared to normal story arcs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You have tickets. Use them.

    [ QUOTE ]

    Changes to Safeguard Missions

-Players that cannot normally obtain safeguard missions due to level restrictions can now visit the PPD training building to experience lower level safeguard missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One I don't actually see an issue with...
    [ QUOTE ]

    New Costume Pieces

-New badges have been added that unlock new costume pieces, primarily chest and cape details.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *shrug* OK, I suppose.

    [ QUOTE ]

    Currency Changes

-Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Unique class recipes can now be purchased directly with reward merits and mission architect tickets, for a significantly greater cost than reward rolls.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm assuming you're looking at this mostly for the purples... which I'm really not for. Merits already allow you to purchase the others - and IMHO, given how easily tickets drop, the price in tickets would have to be many, *many* orders of magnitude higher.

    [ QUOTE ]

    World Events

-A new salvage currency has been added for participating in world events. Recipes can be purchased for a much lower cost using these tokens.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1. "oh, yay, another currency."
    2. What are you defining as a world event - something along the lines of Rikti invasions, or along the lines of GM spawns?
    [ QUOTE ]

    Supergroup Changes

-We have dramatically increased the maximum number of members a supergroup can have.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Already doubled once. I tend, if there's going to be a change, to be more in favor of making it "global account" limits with however many characters instead of just piling in more characters - though the actual characters count for prestige (first 15, etc.)
    [ QUOTE ]

-Coalitions have been reduced to a maximum of four supergroups.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ABSOLUTELY not.

Most of these would "revitalize" COH like changing track rules to make runners run barefoot on carpet tacks would "revitalize" racing.
  21. [ QUOTE ]

Oh yeah, I tried growing my hair long, back when I was in high school, and wow, did I look weird. Turns out when my hair gets past a certain length, it curls, but only from right there! Have you seen that Bugs Bunny cartoon where he barbers that orange monster (Edited: Gossamer, thank you Wiki) into looking like Shirley Temple? Yeah.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh. Sort of sounds like me, though I don't let it get all that long these days.

    I have three hair "phases."
    Short, generally behaves, straight..
Medium, looks like a mess (including one bit that sticks out like a horn growing out of my neck,)
    Long, nice and curly.

    Medium drives me *nuts.*

    CoH Olympics

    [ QUOTE ]

    1. TK Toss: Based on powers such as telekinetic thrust that would allow you to fling your opponent off a high location. Furthest distance tossed earns an badge. (Based on my dominator liking to throw people from the top of Aeon City)

    [/ QUOTE ]

The scene - Near the "launch pad" for the TK toss. A hero and a villain are on the same team.

HeroicGuy: "I don't think I can do this."
VillainDude: "Do what? Just go up there and..."
HG: "Just punt someone off a building, for fun. I'm a hero!"
    VD: "Don't worry, it's not real, it's a simulation."
    HG: "You sure?"
VD: "Of course! Don't worry, you'll do fine. Go get 'em!"

HeroicGuy winds up and sends the guy flying.
VD: "OH MY GOD, THAT WAS THE REF!... Bwahahaa... if you could see your face!"

That said, I think it'd have to have more things like the ski runs, but with (a) overall power suppression in place, and (b) temporary "buffs" to everyone. Say, a race, where you have to get around obstacles, but get extra points for hitting certain things (tagging them somehow.) Everyone would be suppressed, but given, say, slotted Swift speed and Hurdle.
  23. You can actually sort them yourself, y'know...
  24. Old news.

Someone else is taking care of updates.

This isn't Doom. This isnt' even a stubbed toe.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
I have been healing for my villain supergroup as a cor in pvp, but I get taken out very quickly and then I am a help to no one.

Is there another class that can take a pounding and use the medicine powers to heal thier SV?

For example, a brute with medicine or a mastermind with personal force field? What kind of build would work well for the concept of surviving and keeping my team alive? I am trying to think outside the box.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mastermind with Pain Domination. Sounds like it'd fit the bill.
