What happened to the board migration?
The new forum software has been carefully locked away inside the City Vault.

So ...
A number of months ago, there was a series of red-name posts about the forums getting brand spanking new software since the current software has, errrr, issues.
Things had progressed to a point where, IIRC, the new software was used for I13's closed beta.
But I havena' heard a word since. Has that project been shelved?

The forums in i13 Closed sucked rocks and the issues, at least that I've seen, have vanished from this forum since they did the PM-storage purge.
The forum won't migrate until fall, at which point it'll fly south, buy a bikini and lay out on the beaches of Brazil, get drunk and have embarrassing vacation pictures taken.
As far as we know, it's been put on the proverbial backburner. I know, that sounds suspiciously like "shelved," but for what it's worth, switching sides was a backburner issue, and suddenly it's actually going to happen.
Hopefully they'll get there someday. I really do hate UBB.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
I heard the new forums were getting farmed out for post counts, they got nerfed, and now no one wants to use them.
If they would lower the Forum Cartel reward post count, drop the thread ratings to either one, two, or three stars, and allow us to post how we wanted to post, we could be enjoying the new forums Right Now!

so we're going to a Girls Gone Wild location?
So ...
The new software was /worse/ than this?
Whoaaaaahhhhh - that makes my heard hurt.
Dagnabbit, I want boolean searches with pluses 'n' minuses. I want saved threads to stay saved (Jack's post comparing FF and Sonic, complete with numbers, was nuked ).
It's funny. The Vault and new forum software would've been new shinies that would, ultimately, keep me more entertained than the MA.
Am I weird?

At least the plusses and minuses work - see the note in my .sig for an example.

How old was it? Board purges will take anything that doesn't have a redname post.

... I'm not sure what the last question has to do with the stuff before it. >.>
You need ... quotes ... for the boolean thingies to work, even for single words? That's something I never tried
As for the purges -- Jack (AKA Statesman) made The Official Post Regarding FF v. Sonic during I5's beta. It's notable since he gave numbers for the 3 buffs, explained how FF's buffs mitigated more damage against white cons compared to Sonic, while Sonic worked better against higher level mobs. Further, he went on to pitch FF's Final Three powers, laying out The Dev Vision for these powers, and indeed all of FF. It's an insanely good post since it stands as one of the few times Jack gave out numbers, and it's demonstrative of how effective powers aren't always useful (Force Bubble keeps mobs out of melee; most mobs at range do less damage than they do in melee. Therefore, Force Bubble is always good). It showed Jack at his best and worst.
The post and thread stuck around for nearly 3 years.
FWIW, red name posts are not automatically tagged to save -- the tag has to be manually added by one of the mods. So ... at some point, States' thread was tagged to save, but was still nuked.

For some. It's needed for what I have in my .sig, since there's a space after the re: portion. (Without the space, for some reason, I got odd results.)
The new software in I13 Beta wasn't properly set up with all the bells and whistle that it could and should have, so, to the end user, it looked bad.
Apparently, as they migrated other NCSoft forums to the new one, there were some problems. And all this happened during NC West corporate shake-up, and guess who's responsible for maintaining the forum servers? Corporate.
I'm guessing they're waiting for a real web manager to be hired at NCWest who can handle the migration and and set up of the new forums.

They should have just pushed it through full of bugs and broken to all hell with the rest of i14
Just kidding, but seriously.
