Outside of badging, IOing out the character, and/or PVPing, looks like you have ti covered atm. GR, of course, will do the incarnate thing. Have you done Mender Silos's SF? (lists as a SF, but can be started solo.) 46-50.

As mentioned, it depends on the set. My mind/fire loves lower numbers of tougher mobs. My plant/thorn and ice/psy will take larger numbers of lower rank mobs.

Quote:Oh? Link please. Especially given the recent base changes (such as costs and pathing.)This has been asked for time and time again. The devs keep /jrangering it because it seems no one really uses bases.
And "no one really uses bases?" You sure you're looking at City of Heroes? -
Well, that one was interesting. My Claw/Nin stalker's double - a Trick Arrow/Fotunata Training ... whatever it would be. Lots of debuffing, no damage, and a nice dose of Mind Link.

Quote:Thought 1: Absolutely NOT. That's an exceptionally useful power. You can take wormhole over my cold, dead hands. As the title say what about replacing that wormhole power with Heavy Gravity. An aoe power that slows run speed and recharge time. Thoughts?
Thought 2: Cottage rule. The devs *will not* replace a power with one that does something completely different. (They've done so exactly once, just after game release - in Gravity, as it happens to be, getting rid of Fold Space (a team recall power) and, IIRC, shuffling things to add Singularity.... yes, 5/11/2004, "Changed Gravity Control/Fold Space to Singularity (and moved it to the end as the last power in the set): "You can create a very powerful Gravitational Singularity. The Singularity will engage your foes, assaulting them with various gravity powers. Any foes that attempt to approach the Singularity will be violently hurls away. The Singularity cannot be healed, but is highly resistant to all forms of damage and nearly impervious to Controlling type powers.")
Wormhole's exceptionally effective - not to mention fun. *launches enemy across the map.* Plus, "heavy gravity?" Have you read the description of "Crushing field" and "Gravity Distortion?" If that's not enough, roll a Grav/Kin and use Siphon Speed liberally. -
Hmm. I'm going to have to check on mine. Since I was dual boxing a bit, I moved my channels to regular bound keys (since one had a G-keyboard, one didn't.)

Quote:I've got the 690 in mine. Very nice case to work with. Roomy, too. (The Version II has the external ports arranged slightly differently - and a SATA port up top, IIRC, that you can plug another drive into - kind of a gimmick, but interesting nontheless.)I like these additions/modifications to your $750 rig. This puts it right at the $1000 range. I think I will buy this and change out to a CoolerMaster 690 case though. Great information as always Father Xmas!

G-keyboard macros are different, somewhat, than in-game macros. You have to treat them as if you were typing them in at the command line. (And if you look at your macro file from the G-boards, you'll see everything doubled for the keypress down and up. It's just feeding the input directly there -
Maybe edit the macro and add an enter before it? -

I can access it now i just crash everytime i try and play it now..... >.<
Might want to take a visit up there, then. It's players, still, but there's a tool or two you'll want to run first (just grab COH Helper, there should be a link to it) and post the info it comes up with. Maybe they can see something that's causing the problem. -
Quote:Yeah, there are exceptions to a few things - like buying enhancements. Most contacts lock you out if you're on a TF, but you can still go to the arena, AE, or Pocket D bartenders and get them. (I'm thinking I'm forgetting one, and not the consignment house.)Wha?!?!?!
I did not know this. I always assumed that once you started a TF (or flashback, which use TF rules), you were locked out of any other missions. Never knew that Shiva Strike, etc., weren't really missions.
Thanks. This is gonna come in handy since I solo and flashback a lot. -
Quote:You mean the old "Stand around while the tank herds the map, a blaster nukes, and everyone walks off?" Probably because, off the top of my head:I like the idea, but I think its a no for the Classic server, why would people then bother playing on the 'normal' server. Once they see what all the unadjusted/unbalanced sets where like back then(read un-nerfed).
1. it'd be boring as hell (as someone who started when that was standard, yes, I can say that, and that if it had kept going like that, I wouldn't be here now,)
2. you wouldn't have level 40-50 content,
3. you wouldn't have a ton of powersets,
4. you wouldn't have quite a bit of content,
5. no epics,
6. multiple missing zones,
7. only one costume (and *tons* of options missing,)
8. no bases,
9. no PVP (issue 4, two issues before COV came out,)
10. no villains,
11. no IOs,
12. no store markers on the map, so when you DO want to get your shiny DOs and SOs, you've really got to search again,
13. you can trade far less INF than you can now,
14. Double the debt cap, debt starting earlier, and actually mattering,
15. Running out of content at 37-38 and learning what grind REALLY means,
16. Old SK rules mean you'd better hope your exemplar doesn't lose connection or you get booted from a TF,
17. No inherents,
18. Limit of 8 characters per server, ever,
.... hmm, getting to be quite a list already. And I can keep going quite easily. Yeah, gee, I can see just *everyone* swarming to that. Then again, from the "read un-nerfed" comment, I didn't really expect any better. -

/macro band petsaypow zombie <em drumdance>$$petsaypow Lich <em drum> I *think* should do it. (Of course if you want keys bound instead, it's /bind key blah blah blah instead of /macro band blah blah blah)
Edit: though apparently it doesn't like it. Hmm. (Lich actually *says* "<em drum> - I haven't kept up on MM emote bugs, so...) -
Quote:rgh... that's one of the things I can't stand with Illusion, especially during the stretches of the game where everything's *not* slotted up fully. I hate the "illusory damage" nonsense. As another interesting option, how about making -all- the attacks in the set dish out "Illusion" damage? Split the powers between energy and lethal, and apply a delay before a partial heal (like Spectral Wounds). This would replace the "Color Effect" and instead increase the overall damage of the set, making it very useful against minions and lieutenants, but less useful against Bosses, EBs, AVs, Monsters, and GMs (who generally live long enough to get the "Healing" component).
-Rachel-
Going to stop before I get into an Illusion rant. I'll just note that it's one of my least liked sets. -
Quote:*points down to PVEers PVP guide 3.0 in sig*Has anyone attempted these PvP events:
Bloody Bay - Shiva Strike Mission
Siren's Call - ?
Warburg - Missile Launch Mission
Recluse Victory - Temporal Anchors
How long are these TFs/missions and how many people can be on a team?
Also, is there a mission/TF in Siren's Call?
You don't need any number of people to do the Shiva Strike (collect meteor shards, turn in) or Warburg (missile launch) missions. You can also destroy/capture the bunkers in Recluse's Victory solo and switch the zone over - if nobody's around - BUT you're not going to be able to solo the "reinforcements" (some of the freedom phalanx or Recluse and friends) that get sent in. It's been a wihle, not sure you'll get the temporal points for a 'heavy' before the zone shifts again without beating them.
Siren's call is built around zone control and bounty. Bounty = defeat other players, mostly. "Winning" hotspots (really, you just have to be there when the NPCs finish) nets you 100 bounty. Bounty's useful for... well, not much. SOs and inspirations, as I recall.
All of these are PVP zones. All have missions (that can be done solo) that will affect buffs/debuffs on either side. no TFs. (Edit: All but RV. RV has no in-zone missions, just the takeovers.) -
Nope. And none of my natural characters do, either. Or science, or mutant. They're also not bothered by jet boot costume pieces, zero-G packs, anti-grav belts, winged boots, or jump boots.

Quote:Yes, they do. Just took my Elec/Elec blaster into BB to double check. Spawned sparky, regen rate dropped (just like an attack from or on you does to you) and I couldn't teleport for several seconds. As for travel suppression, does spawning a pet count as an attack? I understand the TP suppression hits if the player attacks or is attacked... but I'm not sure on pet-spawns.
Heh. Might work better, but since you'd be doing it "safely" out of range, it might get the damage lowered from normal. Just assuming there, though.Quote:Edit: To be perfectly clear, Bill, I'm -not- certain it's possible to drop the pet and then teleport. I'm fairly sure it is, but... *shrugs!* Alternatively it could be made into a Rainbow-based Lightning Rod, instead? Wouldn't upset me in the slightest! -
Here's a counterpoint - for a first Kheld, I'll tell people to consider the PB for the simple reason that all buffs, heals, etc. are completely self contained. You always know what you'll end up getting, your heal will always work for the same amount at the same level/slotting, your build up will work even if nobody's around, etc, etc.
Warshades are variable - but that variability is why it can get more powerful, etc, etc. -
Quote:Think you misunderstand me, though. And, actually, the Nuke would be no safer than Sonic, Fire, Energy, Dark, or Rad's nuke. You still run into the middle of a group of enemies who, unless taunted or controlled in some fashion, will smack you with their en-masse alpha strike in the few moments before you put the targeting recticle down. And yes, it's a Point Blank drop for the pet with the teleport to location, not a randomized teleport.
Shield charge, lightning rod, etc. you pick your spot and tp/attack there. It's pretty straightforward - arrive and the attack goes off.
Going the other way? You're doing an awful lot - as you say, running in (or SJing, SSing, teleporting,) firing off the pet and then - hopefully - teleporting out. I'm not sure of any power that does anything similar (yeah, I know, part of the point) or if the mechanics of that work (much less you having time to put down that reticle and TP out - itself with mroe of a delay. Plus, try to use it in any PVP zone and the TP out won't work, suppressed after attacking or being attacked. No, I doubt anyone would use it as a PVP attack, but dealing with the mobs in a zone, perhaps.)
Which is part of why I brought up the random TP. That *might* be doable (thoughthe PVP issue remains,) and removes the need (and time needed) for the player to figure out where to TP to. -
Quote:If "The Longbow at this location are in charge of such and such," why would hunting the longbow in a completely different zone have the information you're trying to find? It'd be like interrogating the secretarial pool to find out what the guys in top-secret R&D are up to. Or - as some missions go - "Defeat X many of this group over here to focus their attention on you." If the (story) point is to distract a group's attention from a different zone, it makes complete sense to limit the fight to that one zone.It shouldnt matter what zone you are in; Hunt X number of Y, wherever they are. That might make them less of a pointless time sink (Plot progression shouldnt come at the price of a mission ofboredom)
Now, some of the neighborhood specific stuff inside a zone? Yeah. That's rarely clear, and some of the times it is, the neighborhood "boundaries" are just wrong (see also Croatoa.) Not to mention you can just barely step over a boundary and have stuff that was counting start not counting, with no visible reason why.
As far as the OP? Haven't had it happen, but between that (and Techbot's example of the longbow in Agincourt,) how about a different solution - make them train missions. Create an instance of a section of the zone. That way, you're still going "to the zone," but external events won't affect you and the mobs will be level appropriate. (Won't work with all, I suppose, but there would be a greater chance.) -
I'm trying to think how the Tier9's going to work there. It sounds like Omega Maneuver +Teleport away, if I'm reading it right - which would likely make it the safest nuke in the game (Electric and Ice are probably safest ATM, with ranged nukes, Ice's still being a DOT IIRC.)
Description wise, I like it. Mechanically, though - yeah, not sure how it'd work. Set off the nuke (with a slight delay,) then teleport. Teleport, now, requires a target. Even Shield Charge/Lightning Rod require one. If it's possible to randomly TP away instantly after the taunting pet is placed, I think it'd work (though add some risk you're going to land in another group.)
The other thing I'm not sure of is the 5% chance for random damage type being added in. Most that I can think of with "chance to..." something have just one effect. While it fits with the theme, I'm not sure it's doable in that way. Now, if each attach had a chance of its own damage type (one does fire, one does ice, etc.) it would still maintain some of the flavor you're going for. (Of course, if it IS mechanically possible - hey, why not.)
Sounds like it'd be an interesting enough set though on first readthrough. -
Wait. "Prices of items posted" - I'm assuming you're talking about asking price. A few things -
First, the price put on there is the last price someone paid. You don't know if the "100,000,000 inf" someone paid for item X was because someone listed it at that price, or if it went to buy what *I* listed at 6 inf.
Second, if I want to get around this, I have three options -
(a) Relist, which would admittedly cost me inf,
(b) List higher than I want, because someone may pay that anyway and I'll have a longer timeframe where I'll get as much (or more) than I want, or
(c) Don't list at all and sell it off-market (global channels, forums, etc.) which doesn't do squat for the consignment houses at all.
(Oh, and DocArcus) -
Quote:It'd backfire right away. It wouldn't help those who aren't rolling in it right now, and those who have stashes of INF and "storage characters" won't care. *shrug*Some think that lowing how much inf people can earn will help, but even that will backfire. -
Quote:As stated elsewhere -I still think the added convenience this brings is outweighed by the cost of having the "D" hotkey, and I can't really see just removing the Delete one.
Although, on second thought, maybe I could. Other things you might want to do fast, but do you really need to delete things "RIGHT NAO"?
Disable it? No thanks.
Put in an option to disable it? Absolutely.
