Quote:Obviously you don't.<snip drooling rant>
And believe me, I know all the commands and what they do
/releasepets is NOT the same as dismiss. As MULTIPLE people have told you.
How about dropping the attitude and trying it yourself? Everyone who's told you this USES it and KNOWS it from experience. The UI even behaves somewhat differently, as do the pets, as I explained earlier.
Either that or you can keep your panties in a twist and keep ignoring the workaround people who DO know better are giving you.
Edit:
Now, if they were the SAME command, you'd expect them to behave the same way, yes? Same animation and everything?
Watch this. Done with a bots mastermind because the difference is VERY obvious. -
Quote:Er... wait. The League Leader can rearrange teams by dragging and dropping in the League UI.
So, I get my SG-small-team together, little core of (say) 4 people that work well together and can pretty much rocket anyone else through whatever. We decide to do this trial thing.
We then get randomly rearranged if the league leader feels like it?
Is the league leader going to be able to *boot* people from individual teams (or from the league/trial overall?) Or is that specific power being held for the team leader? Or both? -

Suspicion:Alpha's fingers:needs more. Purpose: count higher.
That said, I have to put in the reminder that the "Epic" in "Epic AT" indicates that it's tied to a storyline. The Kheldians go through the Kheldian war and the attempted Nictus takeover of Earth. The VEATs... need rewriting, and that horrible metagame-speach cutscene removed, taken out behind the shed, shot and burned.
I still want to see the Coralax. There's a good bit that can be done with them. And if they *ever* get around to the Blood of the Black Stream, I'll be thrilled. (What am I talking about? See EAT at WW's in the sig.) And, of course, Alpha's push for a Rikti EAT - I believe he's had a solid path on it in the past.
Now, if we wanted Praetorian... I'm still not completely sold on Syndicate. They do come off as "Widow rehash" when I think of their powers. DE doesn't really make sense to me, either. But getting the elite TEST squads - that might. You'd end up with more powers, of course (including your orb, some nice AOEing missiles, etc,) and a potential storyline that goes from "fiercely loyal" (more than we see in the current one - you're part of the system, after all) to making a choice, breaking free or going undercover (hero/villain.) Think Huntsman build with Traps powers included. -
Huh. Even the Apple store just has the GR edition. (Had to look, out of curiosity.) Understandable, I suppose (less confusion, though that doesn't make sense with NC still offering base COH and GvE,) but... *shrug*
Anyway, yes. Mac pack, as mentioned. $9.99. -
I assume you want to continue playing as a triform?
Have you done anything with her yet as far as inventions?
What do you like/dislike about her currently?
(Also, not sure if it'll help or not, but see "raising a peacebringer" in the signature.) -
Quote:Yes, you will get that if you *dismiss* them.I hear that allot in game but don't you think that would be first thing I'd try. It was in my original post here and all 4 of the bug reports. Pets can't be dismissed. It makes them drop from your pet window but I found after doing this they remain at the zone entrance not moving. Because they're actually still active when you try to re-summon them the power reads that they're already out and fails making it impossible.
/releasepets (put in the underscore if you want,/release_pets) does something totally different. It forcibly "kills" them and wipes them from the server listing, as well. In fact, if you're a /traps MM and have any other "pets" out (such as your FFG, Acid Mortar or Seeker Drones - anything that shows up in the "pets" window) it will "kill" them as well. So don't be in combat when you use it - back off. (Yes, a release does this as well, I know.)
(Visibly telling the difference - if the pets immediately disappear from the pet window, you've dismissed and your resummons will be bugged. If the pets "die" - you have a list of black-named dead pets that take a few seconds to vanish - you've used /releasepets and your new summons will work.)
Yes, it's irritating. Yes, it needs to be fixed, as I doubt most MMs know about this command. But /releasepets does work to wipe the slate clean and let you resummon pets under your control.
Quote:Pet less Masterminds are noobs that don't know the first thing about a Mastermind.
I'd be a little more confident in things like following the directions you were given and knowing the difference between dismiss and /releasepets before I went around calling other players "noobs." -
Quote:Excuse me?The way in which the developers could address the concerns of the whiners
There are valid objections being brought up. If you don't like that, too damn bad. That does NOT give you the right to just dismiss them, or the people bringing them up, as "whiners." If that's the only way you can argue, just stop.
Quote:on a change in Origins actually making a difference, is to create respec's that allow people to change their origin.
We've been told there are four things that *cannot* be respeced out of. AT, Primary, Secondary.... and Origin.
It's highly likely that it's baked into the basis of a character *so* deeply that changing origin would break things badly.
Are YOU ready to piss off every player, possibly break millions of characters, just so you can "respec" your origin? (Dont' think it happens? Look what happens far too often when they just add *costume parts.* Look at what happened when they made Fitness inherent in beta - Kheldians and Dominators were broken.)
Quote:The original game design was simplified and dumbed down because the original designers thought we were too stupid to 'get it' in a more open powers system. -
Quote:Here's the issue -For a lot of us, even min-maxers like myself, that kind ruins a part of the game. And we're complaining and asking for more, just like the min-maxers are saying they might complain if they suddenly had to work harder, or buy something from another player of a different origin, to get that very small extra edge in their min/maxing.
For seven years, people have picked origin *specifically* because of flavor. It hasn't mattered one way or the other. Adding any sort of benefit *now* is just bad. You're telling them a choice they made (or ignored, just clicking something and moving on) now has a consequence, years after they did it, and it's not something that can be adjusted.
If the devs were looking for suggestions for COH 2, I'd say "Hey, go ahead," as players could make an informed decision from day one. But right now you're saying "If you own a Chevy, you can use only even-numbered interstates. Fords, odd-numbered. Chrysler, only the bypasses. Foreign cars aren't allowed on at all."
Adding arcs that address it? I don't see an issue - it doesn't affect a character's powers or abilities. Past that, though, yes, I do have an issue with it.
I'll also point out that "Origins meaning something" was originally part of the game (determining how many powers you could take and how far you could progress in them,) and it was yanked before beta. -
There's a little of this in the midnight club (and, IIRC, galaxy city's MAGI plaques,) but having a central location would be nice, yes. (Personally, I'd like to see the full info on just *what* you're doing during TFs available as opposed to the clue summary, and have the villain group info available to you as you defeat them - I've seen that in other games, and liked it.)

It's dead. IIRC they made zero progress on it. You can still download the preview if you like.

Quote:Definite statement. Thank you.In issue 20, you will be able to craft all abilities from the Incarnate trees that are available via Incarnate Trials using Incarnate Shards and some INF. It will take longer than it will take getting components via the trials, but you will be able collect the shards as you play everything(!) else in the game to offset that. If you mix in the occasional Incarnate Trial you will make more progress.

Quote:I haven't seen one of those in ages. I rarely see multi PLAYER PVP zone battles. (As in, the last time I ran across someone to actually *fight* - or actually in the zone besides me - was a month ago by now.) Last time I've seen full teams in a PVP zone was... eh, IO farmers. Last time I saw them actually fighting, it had to be pre-I13.Well, if the League is truly separate from the LFG/Turnstile; then that means it will be useful for:
- Multi-team PvP Zone battles
I miss those. -
Quote:Right. Because stating concerns about anything is "whining." And I've mentioned small-teams from the beginning. Glad you can so casually dismiss anyone who doesn't share precisely YOUR likes and POV as "whiners."What?! In addition to the handful of 'solo-only!' people who make every thread about the Incarnate system into a whine-fest about non-solo content, we're now going to be hit by a group of 'small-handful-only!' lobbyists doing the same thing?
Quote:Casual play is not having a lot of time to play or grind for things or not having to invest in complicated systems. It's been known for a long time the Incarnate Trials will be casual, like the Apex and Tin Mage TFs. The 'casuals' have not been screaming. The ones who will only play solo have been screaming. And they need to be separated from the ones who *prefer* solo, but can live with occasional team play.
The only ones causing a ruckus are the ones who absolutely refuse to play in teams....
That said,

I've done raids, both COH-raids and in other games. I don't tend to *like* raids. I don't care to be stuck in the middle of a ton of other people, trying to spot the leader again, finding out what we're actually supposed to be attacking/protecting/doing in a mass of other people who may or may not be paying attention. And given game performance (not system, I'm talking things like recharging of powers not syncing between client and server and NPCs not drawing in because there's "too much" going on, such as in Rikti and Zombie invasions) it's not something I'm not really primed to jump up and down about. It's been a longstanding issue with COH.
I'll probably pop into a raid or two for the heck of it, but don't see myself joining particularly often from the description of what's in store. -
... be right where I was while I was at work.

Quote:Back when the invention system was introduced, costume pieces were *rare.* Very. Wings, for instance, ran $14-25 million. And this was before we had purples, PVP IOs, etc, things going for *really* insane amounts of INF, so that was a rather high priced item. What if these rewards, whether enhancements, costume pieces/auras/weapons, or temp powers, -WERE- origin specific in how you received them, but were also sellable on the markets?
I'd rather not see that happen to costume pieces again, even if they were just a few.
Similarly, I'm not particularly fond of the idea of enhancements tied to origin, even if they're swappable. If one's particularly better than the other, (a) it will be insane on the market, and (b) it will be farmed (likely through Ouro.)
The only thing I wouldn't mind seeing - and it's something that would need to find a way to be worked in Red and Gold-side, as Blueside already has "departments of (origin)" - would be the occasional Origin-related arc. For instance, it would make sense the COT might be interested in Magic-based characters, regardless of if the character's "magic" is an item, something native to them, training, etc. But "origin specific rewards/difficulty/XP," I just can't get behind. -

Quote:No. Scrappers get Ninjas. Swing a ninja around to hit people, swing a ninja around with his blade out to cut people, throw a ninja, throw a ninja throwing shurikens, do a double-ninja spin for a PBAOE...If Scrappers got Ninjitsu, I'd be able to make the DB/Nin I've always wanted to create.
The animation-intensive part is the ninja armor. You think DA is bad at hiding your costume? Try showing off with a bunch of ninjas clinging to you. Each armor tier just adds more ninjas. -
Quote:If I have to add a KB enhancement (including your alpha there) to return to where I was (useful KB,) then yes, it does change my slotting.I'd guess this is different in that it doesn't totally get rid of KB, and yet doesn't have KB fanatics have to change their power slotting in order to get the KB back.
/unsigned, as always. -
Quote:Plenty of answers for that, depending on what you're asking (which is a few different things.)I've had some emp defenders in the past, but I've always wondered if empathy was really the best choice in regards to healing capacity in this game. I really want to play a true-blue support class that can really keep the team going in unlikely situations, but I was hoping to get some advice on slotting, or even if there is a powerset or AT that can do this better.
tl;dr, are empathy defenders really the best healers? If not, then what AT or powerset is better for the kind of group support I'm looking for?
Defender specific answer:
Empathy is the only set which gives you three reliable heals (IE, no "tohit" component.) If reliability is your measurement of "best healer," then yes.
If you're looking for "size of heal," Kinetics or Dark is better, BUT can miss or be positioned badly (Kinetics centers around target, Dark around caster.)
Support specific answer:
Empathy has three reliable heals, and some buffs - Clear Mind comes early enough to be very useful before melee classes get their mez protection, for instance. However, staying with defenders, other classes have more tools available to them that can be used proactively to reduce incoming damage or prevent it all together. For instance, Radiation has only a PBAOE heal, but plenty of tools to keep you from getting hit in the first place.
All depends on what kind of "support" you want to do. -
