Quote:The intent is broken, then. The badge should be moved. I hate having to hope someone else is going to be running a raid while I'm on to *maybe* sneak in and get the badge. If it weren't needed for anything - if it were an extraneous badge - it wouldn't matter, but it's needed for the zone teleport beacon. It's WAI. You're supposed to only get it when the shield is down.
Alternately, remove it from the RWZ beacon requirements. -
-Kiosks (formerly displayed top 5 kill counts by zone, that kind of thing)
Broken for a while, yeah. Would love to see stuff added.
-Original enhancements (TO, SO, DO, Hydra/Titan (and Yin's Talismans), even -Hami-Os to some extent... everything outside Invention system)
I wouldn't call this "Abandoned." It's a basic system. It's fairly solid. IOs are the "next step," from commons (don't expire) to what you can do with sets. I'd call it a "finished" system.
-Shadow Shard (tfs/zones)
Needs content, yes. So does Dark Astoria, Boomtown, Crey's Folly...
-Sewer and Eden trials
Eden, not so much. I think the sewer still has a few things needing fixing, though.
-Supergroups and Bases
Yep.
-Mission Architect ("You will be able to."... er, when?)
Not so much "You will be able to," but... when's the last time you saw something added to Devs Choice? Where are the extra slots? How about search improvements and listing improvements?
-Hazard zones (anybody ever been in DA except for Numina and/or badging... ever?)
See other comment. However, yes, I go to DA constantly. I love the zone. Thus why I want content added to it.
-PvP zones (anybody ever been in Bloody Bay except for Shivan farming and/or badging... ever?)
Again, yes, people DO go there. However, it's not the zones that need fixing - it's PVP overall. I think the last time I mentioned PVP zones, I came up with five people, total, I'd run into over the last six months. Only one wanted to fight. One vanished (Siren's Call - you can tell) as soon as they saw I was in on the other side. (Not because the character was a known uber PVPer or anything - mine aren't - but just because I was *there.*)
-Regular missions
I wouldn't call that abandoned. They get added to often enough. Some could possibly use revising to go with current game lore, but I wouldn't say these are abandoned.
-Contacts
Too vague to really say anything about. We get more of them. The stores haven't been changed on older ones, but contacts have evolved. (Edit: No, I don't agree they're "redundant" in any way.)
-Origins (Magic/Mutant/Natural/etc)
No. Origins have nothing to "fix," "Expand on" or "revisit."
-PB/WS-related stuff
WS just had (or have coming up) a change to nebulous form, and PBs are getting looked at, supposedly. So no. (Also, re:evangel's comment - PB/WS already have far better custom arcs for them than VEATs, so "more content" isn't needed.)
-Villain zones (anybody ever been in Nerva except for... ok, over the top, I know)
They get content added to them still. They could use MORE zones for some variety, though. So I'd say this is a "no, not really" as well.
- I'm tempted to add Tips/Alignment system, as well (I've just had to fight too many Carnival over too many stupid masks, I suspect.)
They just added more tips, what, last issue? so no. -
Knew I was missing something - I tend to concentrate on if the immobs do or not. Thanks. (Though I don't think I agree with "skip the single target immob," but to each their own.)
-
Play for yourself and decide. I wouldn't call it "terrible," no - I've got some grav doms and controllers (including a grav/kin at 50.)
The biggest complaints I think you'll run across are:
1. Animation times. Propel's the most visible of this, to me - I've had my targets get killed before I finished "summoning" whatever so often I ended up skipping the power on the doms (who, to be fair, have an entire secondary devoted to damage.) Wormhole's somewhat like this, too (but such a fun power, and useful to reposition and stun.)
2. Not being able to see what's held - it's rather subtle in its "controlled"... um... wave... thingy. You can recolor this, or course, and I'd generally recommend it.
3. There's no -kb in your immobs. So stuff can still get scattered. (Don't confuse with repel, a different effect all together.) Mostly an irritation when it comes to Wormhole - if there were a -kb, you could immob a group and just reposition them. To reduce scatter, you generally want to "aim" them against a wall or something similar instead. (Of course, the plus side there is that you can use your immob on top of someone else's ice patch/earthquake without losing the knockdown from that.)
Of course, the plusses (to me) include Singularity - nothing like turning one dom into two (or one and a half.)
(Edit to remove "holds" from "no -kb.") -
I won't watch until they incorporate Japanese snacks into the game. Just because I can then encourage people to do the Hockey Pocky.
-
The way I understand it, the crab soldier undergoes surgery so he can control the arms, but the arms themselves are mechanical and could be removed. (Which, if you'd think about it, they'd almost have to be - parts break down, after all, and why keep an entire soldier down if you didn't need to?)
-
Is she *currently* at level 50 or is this an "eventual" build plan?
Is she dying to specific mobs?
Does she know about bodyguard mode?
I don't think I'd put two Slow IOs into Demonlings, for starters - dont' forget, with three of them they're -2 to you. Assuming you're not looking at sets, at *least* another acc (at least the way I do it,)
Don't really *need* three END reduction in the two upgrades. (And IIRC there's an END cost reduction in the works for those, too.)
The whip attacks give some decent -res - they're probably the only MM attacks you'll get a consistent "Take at least one of them!" on.
You have a defense buff IO in CJ, but that's still not a lot of defense. You have nothing to stack it with other than set bonuses. I'd almost think a -KB IO (to keep her on her feet) would be better there. Which would also let you drop Acrobatics for something else.
I'd move the Numina +regen/+recov into Suppress Pain instead of one of the heals, for more consistent use - or put it in Health. if you don't mind forgoing the bonus for six slotting it. If you're going for the defense, SP.
Just off the first quick run through. -

Oooh. Nosferatu. I've got that around here somewhere... as well as Fritz Lang's Metropolis - which, I hear, there's a new version of with more formerly lost footage. Must find.
... and vaguely related to that, how I feel leading just a *team* in a trial....

Right. Because once you hit 30, all you face are AVs. No minions, lts or bosses, nope. Malta sapper? AV. Caltrops thrown by KoA? AVs. Whole bunch of little ones you step on. Car that bumps into you on the road? AV.

Yeah, a base related suggestion, so it'll never be implemented, I know. Still have to throw it out there.
I'm running a character in a smaller SG - sort of a "part time" SG. Need to grab a last beacon or two, place them and put up some teleporters for them. However, as I'm running around town, I have no way - short of diverting to a portal and going into the "Add personal items" screen - of knowing if I have teleporters or any other base item crafted on this character. Or of knowing what salvage is needed to do so, short of - again - going to the base.
So, two basic suggestions:
1. Let me see my personal (base) items that I have "on my person," even when I'm not in the base.
Simple enough. If I have (say) three Teleporters crafted ahead of time, or the scrying mirror or any of the other craftable items, give me an inventory I can check on at any point.
2. Let me pull up recipes for base items.
If I'm at Wentworth's/BM, and I realize "hey, we could use X item," right now I've got to head to the base. Let me pull up a base item recipe (sorted by which table) list so I can snag whatever salvage I need.
More complex suggestion:
3. Give us a groupwide holding area, and controls on who can access it.
Essentially, an "inventory" that anyone with permissions can check on to see if an item (teleporter, etc.) is crafted. Anyone making personal items can choose to have those items put into the "base inventory" for future placement, and anyone with permission can see what's there. (Say, up to 10 crafted items each?) -
No new heroside zones - instances, maybe, but new... not so much.
Filling in Dark Astoria and Crey's Folly, yeah - which I've proposed before in detail.
Villainside... there we could use some new zones, though, instead of the painfully same-same linear walkthrough.
Most of what I could think of right this second, though, would work better as instances. -
Ugh. Spreadsheets.
*holds up a cross made out of paintbrushes* Back, evil formulae! Get thee back to thy numerical Hell, ere I RP at thee!

Quote:Plus - having had my MA Tutorial guides wiki-ized... I'll say something that would require more edits and such, to me, is *much* easier to do on the forum.I agree with Draggynn. ParagonWiki is a wonderful resource of facts broken up into researchable bits. Guides are where we take gobs and gobs of information, mix it up with our own opinions and experience, and put it all together. The Wiki is not the place for recommendations on builds or suggestions on strategy.
Certainly the great folks at Titan Network could put together a place for guides, but it doesn't quite fit in with the Wiki. -
Quote:Altitis is not a problem, it's a gift! *cough*this combo, on a brute, single handedly solved my altitis problem.
(Only comment on the preview so far is more one of formatting and such - take advantage of the forum's formatting tools, bold, underline, color, etc. to break the post(s) up a little more visually. Come up with a scheme - "Yellow size 5 bold for main section, Orange Underline for minor sections," etc - and stick with it.
Make the guide user friendly.(Not to be confused with User Friendly.)

Favourite character - Death. And the other deaths (mouse-death and the like) that show up from time to time.
Aside from those mentioned, I actually rather liked Hogfather. -
(insert witty saying.)
... and my trimming needs some work. -

Quote:The 80s were great. I'd take 'em again.I remember the 80's there was very little good about it, and NOTHING worth making into a booster pack.
Forgotten how bad the 80's were? Watch Hot Tub Time Machine.
Though... booster pack? Real "glam" hair - for males? Keytar powerset? "Greed is Good" market/INF bonus? Single glove costume piece and "moonwalk" temp travel power? "MTV" temp power that plays actual music? -
Wouldn't argue against it - but doesn't this fall under the "Much harder than it looks / would take a lot more time than you think" category of dev comments? Or have they mentioned it looking more doable?
