  1. Just tested War Mace : Shatter on a character in the test server. 3 runs came up with a value of 6.33 smashing. I'll test Crowd Control as soon as I level him up to 41 on main and can transfer to Test.
  2. Just did this for the first time last night and we were very succesful. If one follows the suggestions in this guide they should have no problem completing this trial with time to spare. The trial itself is not overly difficult and is an absolute blast, so make sure to give it a go.

    Although, a close second is anything "Clash of the Titans" related.
  4. Viva la City of Heroes! Very nice ideas. I'll still get my bosses, people will still be to able to solo, good times. Only suggestion I can think of would be ONE more category between Boss and Lt, something like "Henchman" which would be tougher than an Lt (Have more powers) but weaker than a boss in damage and HP.

    So Underling ---> Minion ----> Lt ---> Henchman ----> Boss ----> Elite Boss ----> Archvillian/Monsters

    Changes to Rage

    Here's a good penalty, I feel: Set endurance regen to 0 or near 0 for like 30 seconds. That might not seem like much, but do a lab mission and destroy one of the reactors that does the end regen debuff and try to fight, you still can, but not much. While I like this, I also like a straight endurance penalty (-50 endurance, for example, which lets toggles stay) or a slow effect. They're much more elegant than a toggle dropper, especially when I consider Rage no more unbalancing then build up in some respects.

    All kidding aside, the strengths of the genre is that that it's totally plausible that a character could start his day by battling giant alien monsters and end the day sleeping in a medieval castle.
  7. I don't think anything will be "as big" of an expansion as City of Villians, but there's still sooo much ground to cover. It'll just be made in smaller expansions.

    Stuff like
    *Space and Cosmic Heroes (I DO like the idea of a huge, purchaseable "Galaxy of Heroes" because I LOVE cosmic heroes and would love to see this be "almost a separate game" like City of Villians will be)
    *Underwater areas
    *Vehicles of all kinds
    *Personal Nemesis (Positron actually drew up a proposal for this at one time that Statesman said was really good, but it'd take time to put in)
    *Customization of power appearance
    *Entirely new cities to visit
    *New zone specific events (Rikti ships razing Steel Canyon, anyone?)

    All together those add up to "Big things" but I think we'll get them in nice sized chunks
  8. Actually, Devs can be quite sneaky, you think they'd be uber players, but that might not always be the case.

    I remember when Scrappers were getting upgraded, and States said he spent a lot of time playing scrappers. He'd often join a group and ask scrappers "Hey, how do you slot your attacks?". Of course, HE had all the numbers and knew the best way to slot up, he just wanted to here what the information (or misinformation, as it was) was out there among scrappers.

    EXACTLY. Bosses weren't meant to be solo-able UNLESS a particular player used Inspirations & strategy. Hence, the Help text & tutorial indicate that a player "probably" should get other friends to take out a boss.

    Some builds are clearly better than others at taking out bosses.

  16. Hopefully Statesman addresses this, as he says that tankers are currently in his crosshairs. I'd hope that at the very least we'd get a damage increase somewhat akin to the HP increase (It's not like tanks are uber soloers or something) but we're not seeing it because they're working on another system for increasing tank damage.
  17. Yeah, I like how speedsters say "It takes me forever to get to the back of Terra Volta". Now you know the pain of a flyer who takes forever to get ANYWHERE.

    I really don't think geometry is the issue. People will deal with and enjoy funky geometry if they're given an incentive.

    My suggestion? Put a contact in every hazard zone. Groups of 4-8 can go up and talk to him and he'll give you a series of tasks to do that are essentially a series of generic hunt and simple door missions in the hazard zone. That way, groups have a reason to hunt in the hazard zones and can still get the bonus.

  19. Faultline is an awesome zone design wise. But I totally understand why people don't want to go there. It's just too easy to have someone fall down a pit and your group gets split and whiped. However, a good group there could clean up crazy style in the back in the 18-20 levels.

    Conceivably, many magic heroes could be descendents of Mu. But the epic archetype people actually could be full on Mu. Like some put themselves in mystical hibernation and have woke up due to CoT activity.
