Thanks for the run again this week. MB picked up #1199.
Good job everybody and GRATZ! -
Quote:I think the issue is just constant read/write interaction from the client that eventually messes it up for some reason. Strange thing is I can't purposely duplicate the issue. Some people run into problems while some never had an issue. And so it lives on! lolIs there an issue with having a custom character placement or can I change the placement again and then lock it to read only?
Anyway, go ahead and change you placement around to create a new file, then lock it so it wont get disturbed. That's what I did. Just remember you'll have to unlock it to make changes for new toons later. -
That would certainly explain it. Technically, those are separate power windows. You are right that those can not be controlled from the Keybind options, but you can still make binds for them, but that's another subject.
You'll want to click the Arrow in the top right corner of the standard window (instead of the +). That will expand the standard window to 3 trays permanently. Then change the number on those trays so they don't all show a copy of the first tray. Then use the options in the keymapping menu like you wanted to in the first place. -
Quote:"Alt 2 Tray Slot 1" should be using the first power that you have in your THIRD tray (not second). That's what it's designed to do. Did you remember to "Apply Now"? Also remember that the first tray is the one on the bottom. 2nd tray is the middle, and 3rd tray is the top. What I mean is that under the key bind tab in the Options section, you can not bind keys to those 2nd and 3rd tray slots. It just maps a second and third button to the corresponding abilities in that first tray.
Example:Alt 2 Tray Slot 1 if I map Mouse Button 5 to that, all it does is exactly the same thing as pressing the 1 button on the keyboard instead of pushing the first ability on the 2nd tray slot (which imho it SHOULD do)
So.. in essence I am going to have to map 20 /bind keys in order to press the abilities in tray 2 and 3.
I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working for you. I just tested and confirmed that the interface is not bugged. All 30 standard powerslots in the first 3 trays can be controlled from the Keymapping tab in the Options.
Try "Button5" for the Key_Name -
You don't. Look back up at my post. I just edited in how to do it from the keymapping window.
You can either "/bindsavefile filename.txt" and then look at the contents of that file, or do "/showbind KEY_NAME" to see what is bound to a specific key. -
In the Key Mapping menu:
The regular tray is "Tray Slot #"
2nd tray is "Alt Tray Slot #"
3rd tray is "Alt2 Tray Slot #"
Using slash commands to bind them yourself:
The regular tray is "powexec_slot #"
2nd tray is "powexec_altslot #"
3rd tray is "powexec_alt2slot #"
Example:
/bind Q "powexecaltslot 1"
If you were looking to bind a specific power that is located there, you might consider just binding it by name manually instead, just in case you decide to move things around later:
Example:
/bind Q "powexec_name Taunt" -
Just for the sake of it...
Check your CityofHeroes directory for another folder with your account name on it.
Rename it temporarily and try to log back in again.
If it allows you to log in normally, then you probably had a corrupted playerslot.txt (or other) file in that directory.
Crashing after selecting a server was a very common issue after i12, and seems to have been slowly making it's way back for some people (there have been a few recent threads mentioning it). I recommend letting the client make a fresh copy of the playerslot.txt file and then make it "read-only" to prevent any possible corruption later. -
Quote:The old Crash Site only had a single exploration badge, and the requirement did indeed change when it became the War Zone, but no new badges have been added to that zone since then, and testing showed that the requirements for the SG badges did not change when any of the newer exploration badges were added to other zones.I don't know. It's been a long time since that first batch of additional explore badges got put in. I can't recall with any certainty, but I think it affected the RWZ beacon.
I suppose it's possible they might make it a stealth-change at some point, but nobody has reported encountering it yet as far as I know. Like you, most of us already earned them ages ago. -
Quote:There are certainly more opportunities for people to help out along the way.The one who does Terra Volta can also do Independence Port since Family and Tsoo are right outside the TV gate along the bridge.
I think the thing that might make this TF suck next week is when a half dozen groups are all doing the hunts at the same time and "stealing" spawns that other people are already camping on. lol -

Quote:LR and his Inner Circle are quite push-overs at only lvl49.the Mo badges that were available when the new difficulty settings first went into effect and the -1 lvl setting worked on tfs
This was what our MoSTF team felt like:
(Click for larger image)
I don't think any of us were on our main characters though. It felt too cheap.
Immediately after that, we completed MoKahn as well. We moved on to MoITF but I guess "lag-hill" got somebody killed, so we didn't get all 3 (at the time), but that was quite a fun night! lol

Quote:That may be the case, but there actually is one there:You can't EARN a respec until level 24. You can't get to level 24 in Praetoria. Therefore, there is no need to have a respec contact. Freespecs are used by typing /respec and don't need a contact. I would imagine freespecs work in Praetoria, but have never actually done it.

Here's a rough guide I made a long time ago. I adjust based on team size and player ability. (Player ability meaning I'll give the higher level hunts to the toons with more damage and/or are easier to solo.) I give everybody their destinations right from the start, so they can go right from one hunt to the next. We all meet in FF to take out the Rikti and move to Eden for the final hunts as a team.
Using a Team of 8 as an example:
Player1 (me) giving instructions then head to Brickstown (Crey), then to IP (Tsoo), then FF/Eden
Player2 Perez (CoT), then TV (Sy Raiders), then help in DA (BP), then FF/Eden
Player3 Atlas Park (Clockwork), then Crey's Folley (Freakshow), then FF/Eden
Player4 Steel (Outcasts), then Boomtown (Council), then FF/Eden
Player5 Galaxy (Hellion), then IP (Family), then FF/Eden
Player6 Kings Row (Skulls), then Talos (Warriors), then FF/Eden
Player7 Skyway (Trolls), then DA (BP), then FF/Eden
Player8 Faultline (Vahzilok), then Talos (Warriors), then FF/Eden
It seems to work fairly well so far.
Here's the same list in the order they occur in the TF:
Perez (CoT): Player2
Atlas Park (Clockwork): Player3
Steel (Outcasts): Player4
Galaxy (Hellion): Player5
Kings Row (Skulls): Player6
Skyway (Trolls): Player7
Faultline (Vahzilok): Player8
Brickstown (Crey): Player1
Crey's Folley (Freakshow): Player3
TV (Sky Raiders): Player2
IP (Family/Tsoo): Player5 & Player1
Boomtown (Council): Player4
Talos (Warriors): Player6 & Player8
DA (BP): Player7 & Player2
FF (Rikti): Everybody
Eden (DE/Nemesis): Everybody -

Quote:While the KB protection is better to get at a lower level for EX'ing purposes, there is no benefit to using a lower lvl Stealth bonus. They are different kinds of bonuses. The KB protection is active as long as you are within 3 levels (or higher) of the IO, even if the power is EX'd or not in use.. but the Stealth bonus is enabled any time the power it's slotted in is used. (A lvl 50 Stealth IO still works at lvl 20)A few specific set IOs I slot at lower levels, like KB protection or Stealth.
Then again, I usually end up with the lower lvl versions of Stealth anyway, just because I end up slotting it before I even finishing leveling up. haha -

Quote:The way it's put on the site is very vague and open to multiple theories of interpretation. All it says is that we can collect them after changing alignment. It doesn't say they aren't granted automatically, nor does it state we have to do any task to earn them. It can go either way. They are accolade badges, and the other accolades work the same way. It's not far fetched or unreasonable to think they would have done it that way. It only mentions that we wont get a new respec when the badge is granted, but does nothing to imply how the badges are granted.I dunno, they way they put it on the site, it looks like they're earnable badges that you still have to run the trial for, even though you won't be able to get the respecs for completing them.
Either way, there is no point debating it. We'll find out for sure by the time it matters anyway. The important part is that they did something about it. All I'm saying is that my method would have been a "clean" way to do it. -
Quote:Maybe an accidental mis-click in the option window.HOLY KWAP!!! That was it! It set "camfree" value to zero and solved the problem! I don't know how it reset itself in the first place as I never used that command before and didn't have it bound to anything.
Stranger things have happened :P
Quote:SWEEEET!!! Many thanks, Master-Blade!
I think I'm going to go crash now. 4am? Yeah, it's time.
Thanks again!
Either way, glad it's working normally for you again. I'd still check your options.txt file to make sure it's not accidentally incorrect in there too. -
Further research turned up this option:
/optiontoggle camfree
"Disable or allow the camera to move independently of character orientation"
See if that does anything for you.
If so, you might want to do an /optionsave so that it saves the option in your default options file to prevent it from happening on future characters. -
Well what does it say when you do the /showbind?Quote:After thinking about it, those commands rebind the middle mouse button. It's the right button that's the problem.
Anyway.. repeat the above using RBUTTON "+mouse_look" instead.
I hope that will actually do something for you this time. -
Type: /showbind mbutton
That should show you what is currently set to that key.
If it's already "+camrotate", then I have no idea why it's not functioning that way.
If it's not "+camrotate", try to force it to change:
/bind mbutton "nop"
/showbind mbutton (to verify that it's changed)
Log out (close client to hopefully force a save to server)
Log back in.
/showbind mbutton (to verify that it's still "nop")
/unbind mbutton (or /bind mbutton +camrotate)
/showbind mbutton (to verify that it changed)
Log out (close client to hopefully force a save to server)
See if it works.
Good Luck! -
Quote:I'd be more inclined to think that they will work just like the other accolade badges. As soon as you switch sides, you'll gain the corresponding respec badges that you already have. That way the respecs would still be tied to the badges, we could still only earn 3 trial respecs, but everybody could now earn all 6.Well based on this Issue 20 info that just came out literally a few minutes ago it appears that the Devs have in fact decided to "decouple" the respec tokens from the respec trial badges. It's quite possible that after Issue 20 hits you'll get the badges for these trials regardless of the reward you choose.
Well.. that's how I'd do it anyway. lol -
/unbind mbutton
or
/bind mbutton +camrotate
This has the same function as PageUp -
It's /neterrorcoRRection
The only valid values seem to be 0,1, and 2 (for example, using 5 just automatically changes it to 2).
I have no idea what they do.
Edit:
The only semi-useful documentation I can even find about the command just says the following:
"reduce the occurrence of packet loss"
It doesn't specify what the difference is between using option 1 or 2.
