Day Jobs Finished....finally!

I know I'm way behind a lot of people here, but I've finally finished all my day job badges! This post was also supposed to read "finished" for all the available badges, but then they came out with the incarnate stuff, so I'm about 3 or 4 badges away from that. Either way, woohoo!!

Congrats!

I thought I had only one more day job badge to go, then then I moved to Red side and now I'm working on the final couple there. Sometimes I wish they wouldn't add new badges

If we're going to give disparaging names to groups of badges we don't like then I'll add the "Epic Lite" badges that don't reflect the fact that I earned them all back before their requirements were nerfed and the "AE badges, minus the 70 or so the Devs removed from the game after I had earned them already" badges. I could even throw in "broken anniversary badges that don't award when they're supposed to" couldn't I Turg?

At least for many of us the Day Job badges are currently done and over with. There's no real point in poking more fun at them unlike the other badges I mentioned which still vaguely "affect" us even to this day.

Gotta admit though, it would be funny if they added an Accolade Badge for getting them all (Red and Blue) called "How Do I Play Again?" maybe give it an "emote power" where your charactrer just stands around looking a bit confused.

Actually if they were to give us an accolade for "getting them all" then that'd be a fairly clear indication that they had decided not to add any more new Day Jobs to the game. It'd be hard to have a badge for getting all of something if they kept adding more of that something wouldn't it?

So I figure at this point they're technically free to add new Day Jobs because there's really nothing in the way of doing that. I'm sure all those Day Job badge "lovers" out there are just happy to be reminded of that.

Actually it is pretty darn funny to envision our Devs as pirates with devious little Depp smiles when it comes to things like this.

I'm confused on if you mean Vet Rewards or the Anniversary Badges.

Then there are the "Asterisk Badges" for anything that was available through some sort of bug, but has been fixed so that most have to get them the hard way. (Such as the 400 rep badge, or the Mo badges that were available when the new difficulty settings first went into effect and the -1 lvl setting worked on tfs)

LR and his Inner Circle are quite push-overs at only lvl49.

This was what our MoSTF team felt like:

I don't think any of us were on our main characters though. It felt too cheap.

Immediately after that, we completed MoKahn as well. We moved on to MoITF but I guess "lag-hill" got somebody killed, so we didn't get all 3 (at the time), but that was quite a fun night! lol

Not really that difficult. You set the requirement such that the player needs either <x> number of day job badges (then increase that number by whatever additions are made) or individually list out the badge names/settitle numbers ala Freedom Phalanx accolade (and then update that list if/when more day job names are put in). Those who earn it in an earlier iteration would still have it and those coming later would have to earn it under the new requirements.

Edit - Also, SG Beacons. I earned mine back about 2 explore badge increases ago.

For what it's worth, I believe the requirements for the beacons have not changed, despite the addition of new badges.

I don't know. It's been a long time since that first batch of additional explore badges got put in. I can't recall with any certainty, but I think it affected the RWZ beacon.

The old Crash Site only had a single exploration badge, and the requirement did indeed change when it became the War Zone, but no new badges have been added to that zone since then, and testing showed that the requirements for the SG badges did not change when any of the newer exploration badges were added to other zones.

I suppose it's possible they might make it a stealth-change at some point, but nobody has reported encountering it yet as far as I know. Like you, most of us already earned them ages ago.

Edit - Also, SG Beacons. I earned mine back about 2 explore badge increases ago.
I realized it would not be "difficult" to do something along the lines of what you suggest. But it would be at the very least 'counter-intuitive' for them to give us a "you got all the Day Jobs" accolade and then turn around and keep giving us MORE Day Jobs after that. We really should do everything in our power as players to NOT suggest the Devs get in the habit of periodically changing badge requirements - they already do enough of that as it is.

Besides the confusion about the SG beacons discussed in the last few posts points to the idea that adding more badges to a group after you already introduced a "have them all" type badge was problematic at best.

It'd be a big deal to add day jobs simply because they'd have to add a new type of location, i.e. the university, AE and the like, and that's a big deal. So unless we finally get spaceports to the moon base...

Also, the day job accolade should be called "Gym Member", since it's the same ideal as big fitness chains have: paying customers that seldom/ never use the product.

There are currently no day jobs associated with The Crucible and Fort Trident. They could break out the store day jobs by origin and have Freedom Corps give the original one. They could have day jobs for hanging out by restaurants (the taco place, Colonel Flanders, Infront Steakhouse, etc), one for Super Lanes, one for the donut shop in Faultline.
