I think there would be more people interested if the time wasn't announced to the public. Like Luna said, as soon as you advertise any "non-PvP" event in a PvP zone, you put a bulls-eye on yourself.
We've had people advertise for the AVs in RV and almost always end in disaster, but you get some Tells going to a few people you think are interested and you can make a quick event out of it. We did it just last month and earned all the Heroside AVs in about 10 minutes and we even switched to our Villains and got a couple of those badges before the people PvP'ing finally caught on to us. haha.
Anyway, I would also be interested in coming along and helping out in Warburg, but you'll just have to arrange things with us privately if you want to expect a more successful run. I don't need the badges on any of my badge toons, but I do want to get it on at least another spare character so I can help healfarm for other people's SGs without pulling a main character out of my own SG. I usually just solo this using another account, but I'd like to join this as a group and help each other out and see how it compares.
Hope to see you soon. -
I didn't record any stats tonight.. not even a team screenshot.
But here was the team:
Star'goyle
I am Sofa-King
Rdiant Auura
Soriano
Golden Gryphon
Dragao
Project Willow
After the 2 Ouro tasks, Project Willow switched to Omega Elementress.
We didn't set any challenges, and my difficulty settings have not changed from default, but we were getting Purple foes in the first CoT arc. That was pretty brutal, but we toughed through it. The next mission flew by in minutes, and we completed the respect at almost 1 hour flat.
Nice job everybody! See you all next week! -
Quote:Your description of it sounds like you were probably just using Fullscreen mode at the same resolution as your desktop. As far as I can tell, "(desktop)" should still show up next to one of your resolutions. Jut use that one. I have mine set up the same way and am able to change multiple instances of the game without issues.Hmmm...I dont know what I used to do then. Basically my taskbar would be hidden and I could tab around with none of the screen flickering stuff. Was easy for running 2 or 3 accounts at once that way. Any idea what I'm talking about?
If it's not showing up for you, maybe you are using a different resolution for your desktop than you were before. Maybe try a different one and do it again? -
The only thing I can think of "Desktop" might be referring to is that in the resolution dropdown box, it usually shows "(Desktop)" next to the resolution you currently have your desktop set at. That's not desktop mode.

Quote:Actually, I didn't even read your post. I meant to have quoted Kheldarn, but I guess I hit reply instead.I think you missed my point, the "Hero" colors don't save into the costume file and therefore can't be copy/pasted anywhere.
Regardless, now that you have clarified that default values don't save in the file, then yeah.. it throws that idea out the window.. -
Quote:Type [Temporal Displacer] in-game and you'll see some numbers. Unfortunately, many of them are variable depending on what AT/level you are viewing, so I suspect Aeon uses his own numbers anyway, which are probably extremely high if not capped. If I could get the numbers for how much of a buff, then I know how many purples to take.
It's at least 50% Tohit and 160% damage. The good news is that buff should go away when you disable his shield anyway. -
Quote:THIS.Apparently, you need to fire it just after he does this arm raise-y thing and monologue. I'd imagine that's your key to watch for.
Reason being, I believe his shield power is a click, not a toggle, and it's recharge is roughly the same rate as our Temp power. If you use it right after he uses his (animation of his arm going up), and he's still alive long enough to refresh it, you can simply use the power on him again within a few seconds.
If you use it too early, it does nothing, and he casts his shield and you have to wait for the power to recharge again. If you time it wrong, he'll recast his shield almost immediately after you use the power on him again.
If you wait too long, not only are you not damaging him for that amount of time, but his power will recharge soon and every time he puts it back up, you'll be stuck having to wait for your power to recharge again, giving yourselves a smaller window to damage him.
*going to try to get some in-game numbers and get back to you.
Edit:
[Power of the Thorn]
Activation 1.17s
Recharge 60.00s
[Aeon Special]
Activation 1.03s
Recharge 52.00s
grants [Temporal Displacer]
500 magnitude Untouchable
(Among other things like high Stun, Hold, KB prot and buffs to Recovery, ToHit and Damage)
There doesn't seem to be any way to counter-act his shield without the power. If that is accurate, then it's really important to get the timing of the temp power correct and take him down swiftly. Otherwise you'll just be hitting air.
Aeon and his clones deal Energy/Smashing damage with some disorient and KB. If you can resist that, a melee team should have no problem with him. If surviving the High/Extreme Damage of [Power Burst] and [Total Focus] is a concern, just pop a purple (or two) before you run in.
You'll be fine. -
Is everybody spending time outside these days? lol

Quote:I know what objects you are referring to. Now that you mention it, I've "seen" invisible ones in the little dead-ends on some maps as well. Nobody ever notices cause there is usually no reason to go into the dead end. lolIt's one of those little round table-like things with a couple of semicircular notches cut out of the top that are supposed to be in the corridors on that map. They were there when we were testing Issue 10, but disappeared sometime after. It's been a long time since I did any missions on that Rikti map, so I don't know if it's a still broken thing or something that worked, got broken, got fixed, then got broken again.
-
So how about if you save a file for your brute, then copy/paste the Hero electric color into the Brute's file, then load it?
-
Gratz! My main badge toon is only at 687, missing the first 2 anniversary badges and a handful of Veteran badges. Other than that, he is capped until i17 hits.
-
Just roll a hero with electirc powers and open the power custimization to see what color it is using. Then use the same one on your brute (if available).
-
At first glance it looked like he edited the output results, which he already said was not the case. The idea of the file/program itself being renamed before the process was ran did not even cross my mind at the time. I never said it was a bad idea.
-
-
Quote:huh? why edit the results? lol
C:\Program Files\that program.exe
Anyway, I don't see anything unusual. Does your Firewall/Antivirus programs have any kind of auto-update as well that might be kicking in? -
It's usually (but not always) caused by a change in leadership, either before the TF was started, or if the leader DCs. It can usually be solved without a GM by having the original team leader talk to the TF contact instead of the new Star-holder. If not, then ride it out, restart, or call the GM.

[Honoree.Unstoppable]
Recharge time 4m5s
Duration 3m20s
There is a 45s window for the team to use everything they have on him. The mistake people make is using holds and such as soon as he is damageable again, but then the holds usually expire about the same time his power recharges and they end up not doing much good. I suggest waiting for the last few seconds before having everybody spam every hold they have, which should extend this period and allow you to finish him off. Any power that has a -Recharge is good to use on him any time during his vulnerable period as well.
Did you even have holds? Bringing some extra debuffs with you next time should help too. Not having either one can be quite painful for enemies like this. I hope you have a better go at it next time. -
Quote:His [Honoree.Unstoppable] lasts for 3m20s with a 4m5s recharge, which gives you about 45 seconds to use everything you have on him. Anybody who has holds should use them at the same time during this point and possibly give you more time to kill him before he has a chance to reactivate it.There's another albeit tougher way to beat him if you don't have (enough) debuffs. The Honoree doesn't have perma-unstoppable. There are short gaps. It is possible to kill him during one of these short gaps, if you have enough DPS.
It can take some time to get the timing right, but it is possible even without debuffs. I hope you have better luck with it next time. -
I've seen this issue before, but thought they had fixed it. There was an issue a while back where our teammate names would not show up on the team list and/or show them in incorrect zones and/or internallly think they are heroes instead of villains (and vice-versa).
I was pretty sure that part is fixed, but maybe some GR mechanic is acciddentally sliding over and causing it again? Either that or your team was a mixed team in RWZ some time before the leader decided to eventually host the SF and it somehow reverted back.
On a side note, I think the workaround at the time was to make sure everybody zones to the same place and waits for the leader to select the next mission before moving to the next zone. It's annoying and shouldn't have to be that way, but if this is going to crop up again, and especially for Master-of TF/SFs, I wouldn't want to take my chances.
There seem to be a lot of TF issues these days. It almost makes me want to build a Player Guide for TF stability (but I wont, lol). -
I think i know what this is. Some people will recall the Atta map that is littered with junk, and at one point the objects inside it did not render, but the objects were still there... like the car or the vending machine sitting in the middle of the cave.
It would block you if you were trying to run, and you can even stand on top of them, but you could not see them unless you had an aura or aoe power going off near it. I think Hotfeet was a good one to find hidden items at the time.
I'd be interested to see what this object ends up being. -
Open your badge menu and select the Veteran category. Scroll down to the reward and click "Claim <item name>".

It's not a bug. TF/SFs are level-locked when you start them.
Task Forces
Quote:I believe it was done to prevent this type of scenario:As of the 10/28/2009 patch, Task Forces that are not Flashback or Architect are level locked at the time the Task Force is created.
A lvl 50 (or higher than the TF) starts the TF, but DC's at some point through the TF.
The star is given to somebody lower than the maximum lvl of the TF and everybody is EX'd to that lvl for the next mission, despite the foes being higher.
I'm sure there was probably an exploit or other issue this was intended to fix as well, but the point is that it IS intended (for now).
Basically, if you don't want to fight a lvl 25 at lvl 23, then wait until you are lvl 25 or get a lvl 25 on your team to host it for you. -
Quote:Don't forget that recipes of the same type will stack on the market, so multiply that number by 10, and also add more storage slots for those people who have the badges to increase the size of personal recipe and WW/BM slots.dont poeple already hoard recipies? a lvl 50 toon can hold 20 recipes, then each toon can hold about 16-20 "stored" on the market
That makes a possible 29 on the character, and another 210 on the market.
Personally, I don't see a problem with recipe storage. Anybody who wants to do it has different ways to save them, and if it's about the enhancement themselves, people can just craft them and save as many as they want in several SG bins. -
Quote:Even though you are not doing anything, there are usually people coming and going around you, and your client is saving information about them. If you are sitting AFK in a mission by yourself, you wouldn't see that behavior. You could watch the mem usage increase gradually right in the taskmanager without even doing anything in game but standing still.
Base editing has done that for a long time now. It's not uncommon to hit 1.4 after a couple hours of it. I think the reason is because every time an item is placed or removed, it seems like the whole base is reloaded. If you have a base with an extraordinary amount of items, you will see this behavior more and more. -
Quote:I got 1 billion on my scrapper back in the day when we could use lvl 53 Rikti Bosses to "1-shot" us down to 1hp. We regen to full health just before he attacks again. Since the Boss I was using had 2 different damage types, both of them counted for the full hp on every swing. At my rate, to get a Billion points, would take 2703 hours, or approx 113 days at 24/7, ie nearly 4 months farming
Arghhhh...............
Cheers
Using this method, even the bonus hp counted because it's an "all or nothing" type of thing. Burst damage that leaves you below your base hp value will count for full points. DoT or multiple damage types that are less than your bonus hp does not.
Anyway, I also left it on when I went to work or went to sleep. I can't tell you how long it took because I would do it for a week straight and then not do it again for a while, then do it for another week. All I can say is that Including the AFK farming for the old Empath requirements as well, that ton has well over 3000 hours logged.
Anyway, that method is outdated because the AI has changed so that boss now uses 2 attacks and just kills you, so we are reduced to using the CoT again for less than half the credit per hour.
