Memory usage

Since this last patch the .exe is burning up a ton of system RAM.

Currently as I post this CoH is using 1,310,840K of RAM ... I know Pre-patch it was much lower than this.

Anyone else out there getting insane Mem usage?

CoH is currently using around 880,000 to 900,000K memory for me, according to Windows Task Manager. That's high but, but not absurdly so....at least the game's still running fine for me. What kind of memory usage should CoH usually have, though? I can't remember.

That said, it does seem a lot of folks on the team here are experiencing 1.3 mil + usage - and slideshow game performance - which is clearly not right.

I agree, it looks like there's a leak somewhere, at least for some people.

I was one of the ones on that group with Acyl and I had it bad. 1.3 mil - 1.4 Mil K usage. System could handle it for awhile, but it would inevitably start slide-showing and rubberbanding.

I have a quad-core Acer with 8 Gigs of RAM. Normally CoH runs around 500k to 600 K usage with no slow downs and no framerate loss even on max graphics sliders.

Something is definately screwy since today's patch.

My client regularly runs around 1.1gb of usage. It's not abnormal for it to get to 1.3 after a couple of hours but things start getting unstable round 1.5 or so.. and a few of us have gotten used to logging back in to our team and saying "sorry, got the 1.5g crash", lol.

As for today's patch, I haven't noticed any significant increase over the previous version.

Mine usually ran between 800-900k ... when I stopped playing that night (2hrs max) it was pushing 1.4million. You could watch the mem usage increase gradually right in the taskmanager without even doing anything in game but standing still.

Still seems odd to see a 150%+ mem usage jump after a patch to me.

Same with me, it is REALLLLLY bad when base editing, 90% of the times I crash it is because I break that 1.4 mark.

Even though you are not doing anything, there are usually people coming and going around you, and your client is saving information about them. If you are sitting AFK in a mission by yourself, you wouldn't see that behavior.

Base editing has done that for a long time now. It's not uncommon to hit 1.4 after a couple hours of it. I think the reason is because every time an item is placed or removed, it seems like the whole base is reloaded. If you have a base with an extraordinary amount of items, you will see this behavior more and more.
